Chapter 87: A Bleeding Princess - I

When I finally felt awake, I opened my eyes immediately but closed them wincing at how bright it was. There was a dull ache at the back of my head which made me wonder about what had happened?

What had happened?

The brightness somehow subsided and I finally was able to open my eyes. The ceiling above was unfamiliar which meant that I was not in the bedroom that I had been staying in for the past couple of days or let alone by the looks of it I was not in The palace at all. But then where was I?

"Are you alright?" Someone said and I tried to get up immediately. "Carefully, careful." They said and I winced again looking at the unfamiliar person.

"Who are you?" I asked the person, unable to keep the question inside me for long. "Why am I here and why is my head paining?" I touched the back of it and felt something. . a cloth?

"You were injured. Your head was bleeding very much when I found you and so was the girl who was standing next to you. The other one called the guards that brought me to you."

Injured? The pain that I felt it wasn’t a bad as I frowned thinking about what had exactly happened. I did remember as much that Marilyn and I were walking with Lara outside the boutique shop to visit riston with their I had for an unconscious and why did not understand that.

"Wh-what," I cleared my throat a little to speak properly, "what are the girls were injured? which one are you talking about?"

The healer seems to be thinking about what I had asked. " I believe her name is Lara." She answered me making my eyes widened in shock. Why was Laura injured? Why was injured?

"Where is she? How injured was she? Is she fine now?" I took the covers off of me and placed my feet on the ground and tried to get a without concentrating on the pain at the back of my head.

"Please, lie do—"

"My lady," the messenger, whose name I was beginning to think that I should have asked earlier, came into the room with the sudden expression on his face. "Please be seated. The queen has asked for you took rest completely until you are fine and the pain has subsided. She will be visiting you later."

I frowned, even the queen knew?

"Where is she? And Merilyn?" I aksed him instead. "Are both of them all right?"

The healer looked at the messenger as if you wanted him to answer but when he did not step forward to answer my query she decided to step into it. "Both of them are on the light. The little girl is healing well and has gained consciousness before you did. For now she has taken her medicine and when she is alright we could send her home by tomorrow or perhaps in the evening."

"Tomorrow is better." I told her. "Check on her for tonight and let her go tomorrow she is feeling well." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

She nodded and smiled. "Would you like something to eat or drink?"

I shook my head.

"Well then," she stepped back once, " kindly call me if you need something. The guard is waiting outside for you."

I nodded and watched as both of them left leaving me alone in the room after closing the door.

I could not help but touch the area at the back of my head. It might be a small wound but it was still paining me greatly and I could not understand who would hit me out of nowhere?

Who was involved in this and how can we did not hit the three of us rather it was only Marilyn who was left and call the gods but had she not caught him?

I blinked repeatedly as my vision blurred. I was feeling weak.

I stood up and walked out of the room the Messenger immediately stop and was ready to reprimand me when I walked forward to where I could see Marylin standing.

"What happened?" I aksed immediately and she held me for support. "Are you alright? Does it hurt anywhere?"

She shook her head. " Please sit." She pointed to the chair and I took it. The Guard moved away at a respectful distance from where he could not hear what Marilyn was telling me but could also keep an eye on both of us.

"I do not know what exactly happened as It all happened so suddenly!" She gushed as if reliving it. "All I could see was you fell to the ground and Lara was hit as well and then went I turned around I was hit too." She sighed and I noticed that side of her head where her hair were, was swollen too.

"You are injured." I stressed on my words. "You should have told me."

She smiled and shook her head. "I am fine."

"You did not see him?" Why did no one see them?

"Genevieve!" I turned around and stood about of respect immediately as soon as I saw the queen but ended up stumbling as Merylin gripped me and place me into the chair again.

I was feeling weak.

"Oh lord, you cannot even stand!" She shrieked as she placed a hand on my shoulder. "How?" She snapped at the healer who flinched as I watched them quietly.

"Uh, urm," she fidgeted around and gulped. Being in the presences of her Royal highness, the queen, was not easy for a commoner. The queen’s aura alone demanded respect. "I think she has suffered blood loss." She whispered out, "it must be why she is feeling so weak."

"Blood loss?" The Queen looked behind my head, at the wound and then at the messenger. "Explain!"

He gulped and bowed his head. "We do not know."

"What?" The Queen spat and even I was disappointed. No one knew what happened? This was not good.
