The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 61: The merchant, your friend. - I
I blinked back in shock as I processed the words he said over and over again. "Y-you took him as a prisoner?" I stuttered as my heart pounded loudly and ears had a strange sensation in them. "And under what charges did you do so?" He had a smug expression on which made me realise that his arrogance had no bounds.
"I could also do that without any given reason but to answer us with those," is was told to me that it did not matter to him what were the grounds on which he had taken him as a prisoner. What mattered to him more was that I should know what it was. . . But why?
"He had stolen information from the authorities." Prince Lysar informed as to his eyes as always analysed my face. "We will be having a full investigation on a full stop no commoner is supposed to have such classified information among them. The information that only belongs to the court of the king."
"Information the king could have used to protect his le," I muttered and looked away. I did not say anything the entire right. Silence from my side prevailed as it told him that I did not have any feelings for the merchant.
Safeguarding my feelings for him was of the utmost importance because these feelings could very well have all of us killed.

I had him stop first into the town to see if a boy has been treated well are not because the women shoulder would not have expected me to come back today.
"Oh!" She exclaimed as soon as she saw me at the door. "To be honest my lady I was not expecting you to come back today."
I nodded nevertheless. "How is the boy?"
She stepped back and I knew that it was an invitation for me to arrive. The Prince followed me inside along with his companion that was driving the carriage but I did not pay him any attention.
"I had to season of the skin that was infected and then I had to burn the want to make sure that would not get affected again." She pointed to the areas on the back and the body of the child which was red, angry blood sleeping out of them at any given time. "This would prevent infection again and the only good thing was he does not have a fever yet."
"Thank you." I turned to the woman with gratitude and appreciation. "Please make sure the boy survives fall stop he has much more to see of the world than to die at the hands of a tyrant." I gained at the prince, "Youngblood like him should deserve more, don’t you think so?"
The prince’s eyes narrowed a better understanding of the drift where I was coming from. He nodded nonetheless with an amused smirk on his face as if nothing but entertained by my slight jab.
"Do not worry for the expense, healer. The crown would take care of every expense office. There should be no delay or any kind of lack in his treatment."
I watched him in caution and with resentment. I would have been impressed by his generosity but after what he had told me to get a reaction out of me I was not going to ever consider this man’s thoughts and actions done fairly out of generosity and gratitude.
After I have paid one last visit to the unconscious boy we were on our way to the castle and I went in his chambers to another entrance so that no member of his family could see me.
When I entered I found him waiting for me but I did not pay any attention and moved directly to my chambers temporarily.
"You have not said anything to me yet." The man said and I stopped but did not turn around to look at him. "I assumed that the merchant was a good friend of yours. Would you not stand for your friend?"
The word friend from his mouth pained me because it seemed like something he said out of spite. He knew that he had once accused me of having feelings for the man and now he called him my friend after he had thrown into prison because of this.
I shook my head. "He is my friend. I confirmed for him turning around and looking directly into his eyes without any emotions. The man did not deserve any for me.
"But he is a citizen of your country and if you deem it fit for him to be thrown into prison only to help people find their own I suppose there is nothing I can do about it than request to you." I took a step closer. "Please be kind enough to conduct a free and fair trial for the men. Even though I have known him for a short while I am sure that he did not mean harm to anyone especially to the king and his family. All he wanted was to find his cousin which let him take part in the investigation and find out much more than any one of us could gather."
He watched me with his cat-like eyes never leaving me and gorging every movement of mine is it knowing what is going on in my mind. He nodded his head and moved closer. "You request me to give them a fair trial does give me Dominion over him but you end up and insulting me as well."
I shrugged, something now I often did when I was with him. "I am a fragile princess, what can I say."
"Yes, hat you are." He gave out a tired sigh. "You know there is one option that will always work in your favour if you want to save him. Because the prison guards are under my eldest brothers command and they are not merciful to any kind of prisoners especially traitors."
Chills ran up my spine and I barely controlled my tears as I asked, "What is it that I can do?"
