The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 306: The king is back - III
"Where?" The word left my mouth in a whisper as I glanced around the house to find him. Where had Tristan disappeared to in a matter of seconds?
"I.." Sir Walter repeated the same actions as I did, as he continued to look around like me. "I don’t know.."
"Reginald!!"
This cream shook everyone to the core, from Sir Walter and his son to Dorothy and I, we all jumped on how loud and sudden it was before recognising who the voice belonged to.
"Georgina." Reginald Walter whispered before running into direction he had hurt his wife scream from.
Without wasting a second, Dorothy and I followed him.
We found them on the main road, and just as we were at a distance where we could hear and see them, we stopped.
Tristan standing right next to Georgina Walter who appeared to be unharmed but just rattled.
He had not done anything, so why had she screamed so loud?
"My love," Sir Walter neared her slowly, still wary of the vampire standing next to her but did not let it deter his actions. "Are you alright? Are you harmed?"
"I," Mrs. Walter blinked, "I don’t know.. what happened?"
Confused at her explanation, almost everyone looked at Tristan who shrugged his shoulders at Sir Walter. "I compelled her to scream. See? I have no desire to hurt anyone, at least not why my hand."
He definitely had quite a way to make his point known.
He still did not look at me. Not even a glance my way but I knew the conversation was going to start soon.
"We cannot give you the princess, making. You must understand that she is my responsibility—"
"She was my responsibility the moment I recognised her as my bonded." Tristan cut him off, "I am grateful to know that she has someone to take care of her in my absence, but that is not needed." The word needed was thrown out viciously.
"You have seen not even a fraction of what I can do to your family while making you all do nothing but watch, once again I am asking you to hand her over."
Sir Walter did not look at me and I was grateful for that. Yet, the helpless expression was something I could feel forming on his face. For how long could he continue to deny when he had no power to do so?
"I cannot, my lord. You have to forgive me—"
"Look at her, Reginald Walter." Tristan’s eyes followed mine and my heartbeat quickened. "She is out of the house."
Realisation settled in. Dorothy wiped my way and so did Sir Walter before I felt a wind rush past me.
Without even looking, I knew Tristan was standing behind me. I felt him stand behind me.
The horrified gasp of my friend made it certain that it happened.
"Please, my Lord." The panic settled on sir Walter’s face and my fear started to grow. " you must understand that what she did—"
"You will be informed of the verdict." I flinched when I heard him speak from behind me. "What she did, as you must know, is punishable by law because it was a crime carried out against the king."
"We will see what punishment will be The best course of action to be followed. Until then, I do not want to see any of you in the capital. Stay here."
Lord have mercy. I started to chant the prayer in my mind.
"which also reminds me of something, or rather someone," Tristan clicked his tongue, "ah yes, get me the Prince of Lethoris."
My eyes snapped open and I turned around. "You cannot ask for him, Tristan! He has barely recovered from what you’ve done to him before!"
"Well I will do him a favour this time then," he smiled at flashing bis fangs, " I won’t give him a chance to make a recovery."
I gasped and opened my mouth to say something, but his sudden grip on my elbows silenced me.
He looked past me and I watched as the small black part of his eyes started to blend out with the red circles surrounding it. "Get me the Prince."
My eyes in the word in question when I heard footsteps. Cian walked past me at a determined pace and I understood what happened. Tristan had compelled him just like he had compelled Mrs Walter.
I gasped at the sudden and abrupt stop. I blinked my eyes repeatedly to see what was in front of me. We were back at the cottage but just in the blink of an eye!
He had used his inhumane speed to bring me here. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
As we waited for Cian to catch up to us and bring the prince out, I realised that we were finally alone and this might be my chance to beg for the safety and mercy of someone else since I was sure I was not receiving it from him.
"Don’t do it, Tristan." I begged, my voice barely above a whisper. "Please, don’t harm him. You have done enough damage already."
He hissed in between his teeth and my heart almost came to my throat, ready to jump out of my mouth and end it all at once.
His red eyes moved to me and his face consorted to an angry expression, "why is it you continue to choose everyone except me, Genevevive? It is always everyone except me and I refuse to accept it any longer."
What?
He nodded, "Aunt chiara Will no longer be held off by me. You will learn everything there is to be learned of vampires and our customs. You will be a vampire queen soon and it is time you learn all about it."
He did not even give me the chance to let the words settle in.
"The moment you step into the palace, your punishment will be decided and you will be given a way out of it if you decide to take it." He smiled, "however I don’t think you will be taking it."
What was he planning? Why would I not take a chance to run from the punishment if it was ever provided?
"Tris—"
My eyes moved to the figure that had now entered the house, as he had walked past us. Cian was here and now on his way.
