The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 270: A small gift - II
I hissed in uncomfort. The dress was very beautiful but it was uncomfortable on the arms where the lace was along with the heavy embroidery that was now digging into my skin and making it itch.
Yet, standing in front of the huge mirror, I could not help but admire it continuously since I had come into the room.
Blood red in colour, it shimmered under the morning light of the Sun. It had me compare the dress to the current situation that I was facing with different people.
Blood red was something common with them and they elongated teeth, fangs as they were called, shimmered too. They shined whenever a corner of their lips were lifted.
I shook my head, effectively shaking myself out of those thoughts. How could I have gone from admiring the dress to comparing it with the fangs?
"Is everything alright?" Anna stepped closer and adjusted the lower falls off my dress. This dress was definitely bigger than the ones I wore on a daily basis and they were luxurious.
This one was on another level.
"Yes," I nodded to her, taking my eyes off the mirror and looking at her while scratching the dress on my elbow. "It is very beautiful, Anna. Who chose it?"
"The king did." She revealed with a rare smile. "Lady Chiara presented him with the choice and he chose every detail."
"He did?"
"Yes," she nodded proudly. "Can I see how beautiful it has turned out to be. A beloved’s eye for his female could never be mistaken."
Indeed, I silently agreed with what she said. It was definitely the most beautiful dress I had ever worn or seen in my life.
My heart skipped a beat when something particular came to my mind when I looked at the dress again. The blood red colour of the dress reminded me of someone.
"Dorothy," I called her close as Anna retouched the folds, "can you call Diwal and tell him to meet me later?"
She nodded silently, her eyes flickered to Anna before she stepped away. Anna seemed to have some kind of effect because even my most talkative lady in waiting seemed to fall silent in her presence.
Noticing the change in my friend’s demeanor, I once again adjusted the lace on my arm. It was pinching my skin and I was sure it was going to go red in irritation.
"We should add silk on the side of the sleeves." Anna gave a pointed look to the seamstress as she pinched the sleeve in between her fingers. "The material is not comfortable."
My eyes move from her to where she was holding my slave and then to the seamstress. Anna noticed my discomfort with the lace?
I had expected her to ignore that and make sure that the dress remained the same, just like the King had chosen it.
"I think it is for today." Anna nodded, "let’s get you out of that dress."
*****
Back in my normal dress, still more luxurious than I had something I had ever worn, I was waiting for Diwal to come in.
"Good morning," the humongous man who once could barely open his eyes entered the room with a bright smile on his face. "You called for me?"
I nodded. "We need to go back."
"Back?" He shook his head, "back, where?"
"I need to go back with the prince is kept." That was if he was alive by now. " I am planning something and I have the chance to get him out of here."
Diwal’s eyes bulged out. " What?" His voice grew harsh and he stepped back before shaking his head. "Why would you even think of going near him? Are you not aware of how.. territorial these people can be?"
He scoffed, "we had a narrow escape the previous time and if this happens again I do not think we will be able to run! Also, what is it that you have planned?"
I contemplated telling him. If he was not supporting me when it came to just meeting the prince, he was definitely not going to support what I had in my mind.
"Just something.." I shrugged, acting like it did not mean anything.
I had to hurry before anyone else would call me for something regarding tonight. "Listen, Diwal. If you do not want to come with me then it is your choice but I am going."
"Go how and where?" He questioned. " Just because you do not have Solomon behind you does not mean that anyone cannot sense you walking in them. Even if you do go, how will you explain what you were doing in the remote part of the palace?"
True, true and true. I had not thought of that. Given that the palace was going to have more hustle and bustle than normal, I was going to meet someone whether I wanted it or not.
Almost everyone was going to be around the corner busy doing something that I was not a part of.
Closing my eyes, I turned away from him. I have to think about that. It would be more dangerous if anyone caught me lurking around the corner where he was. If they caught me then he might be removed to a location that I would have to search for for a long time.
"Am I right?"
"Yes," I spat. He was right. There was no way I could carry out my plan of going there and walking back to my room without having anyone notice me.
Tristan’s aunt had also mentioned that there were going to be many people in the palace start with their relatives which meant that it was going to be more crowded than usual and going out there would be a mistake.
"Alright then," I bent forward and pink of the box that contained Merilyn’s gift. "I would have to think of something else." Because I was sure as hell not escaping without helping the prince.
