Chapter 249: The Celebration of mating - II

I glanced at the door, slightly nervous if anyone would come in. Even though everyone knows no one waited for my reply of permission or denial.

I had placed the letters back in the envelope before taking the job and placing it back into the wooden carrier. I took them both and buried it deep inside a trunk filled with old clothes.

Dorothy and Leela would not touch it and since I was not wearing any of them they would not be washed. Also, if they were to be given away, I would be asked first.

I gulped and patted my forehead to find a slight line of precipitation. What was I to do? Estelle was right, however, I Had feelings for Tristan and I could not imagine myself leaving him.

I let out a weary breath. If Tristan did not find the opportunity by a willing Estelle to let him help win the throne for herself, the only option available for him would be to conquer Melenmore by force because you would no longer have anything to play Estelle with.

I placed around the room thinking about everything before finally settling down on the bed with my head in my hands. After what happened last night, what would be really shocking if Tristan did that to any of my family members or the people of my kingdom?

Would this not be too early to find out? Id Tristan truly cared for me as he said and if beloved’s were really placed high in one’s life, maybe I could have Tristan leave my kingdom.

Maybe. . .

"I cannot believe that we are selecting the dresses for my ceremony of mating which is basically equivalent to marriage!" Merilyn bubbled out as she looked at the room filled with dresses. "To think that I was not supposed to get married!"

"I think I would have let you get married if you wanted to." I patted her shoulder slightly, having her move aside so that I could enter the room. "But you never really showed interest in anyone."

Merilyn shrugged, not bothering to relish the memories of the past. Her eyes moved from one dress to another. The dresses her field of the entire room and we were selecting one for her and then for ourselves.

Chiara walked in with Lara behind her. "Find a dress for yourself first Marilyn. As the custom says, you should have the best dress." She kissed the forehead of my friend, "I know whatever you choose you will look amazing in it!"

Even if Merylin’s back faced me I knew she was blushing.

This room was on the third level of the kingdom. Only one floor below the level occupied by the family. This room was basically a sitting room but Chiara and Allan’s mother had converted it to nothing less than a show for Marilyn. Hundreds of dresses lead across and hundreds were ready to come in for ho to choose and after she was done the rest would follow.

The dresses had even covered the seats and I could finally find one by shifting them slightly.

My eyes moved to Allen’s mother whose name was Camilla. She was a rather jolly woman making you wonder how she ever became friends with Chiara.

"I cannot wait for the days to pass. I was only able to have one child and finally the day has come." Camilla happily told everyone with a huge smile on her face as she looked at each and every dress before moving onto the other.

Not wanting to sit idle in the celebration held for my friend I too, stood up and started Looking through the dresses before pulling out a royal blue dress.

"Look at this one," I held it up for Marylin to see, "I have only seen you in blue once and I think it would look very beautiful on you. Would you like to try it?"

Maryland looked at the dress before coming closer than touching the fabric.

"You should try it," Camilla appeared beside Marilyn, making me widen my eyes slightly. I had only seen Tristan do that. "A friend’s eyes never lie." She said, looking at me with her twinkling eyes.

My heart warmed at that, even more when Marilyn took it from me and smiled before going behind the folding screen placed for her to change.

"Would you not see some for yourself?" Camilla asked me. "There are plenty of dresses here and I do not think Marylin would mind you choosing one from it."

I looked around, " Uh—"

"No, Camilla," Chiara’s voice took our attention to where she was, "a dress is being made for Genevieve. Even if she is not the queen yet, she will wear clothes made specifically for her."

I gulped before looking back at Camilla who smiled and patted my shoulder in comfort. She leaned to my ear and since she was shorter to me I had to bend down. "Do not be afraid of her. She’s more afraid." She whispered and then pulled back.

She was afraid of me? Better yet, a vampire was afraid of a human? But since she was the mother in law of Marilyn I nodded before turning around and begging myself in finding dresses for No one because apparently I had one being made for me.

Small rustling of fabric was heard before, "She’s here."

On the first turn to the folding screen to look at Marilyn.

I gasped silently.

The dark blue colour looked Royal against her skin. The blonde hair looked beautiful in contrast to it. When I saw her red eyes I missed the green she had before. They would have looked beautiful with the blue she wore.

"Oh, you look beautiful!" Camilla gushed and appeared on the side of Marilyn taking her beautiful self in as I walked to them at a human pace and with a blurred vision.

I touched her shoulder bringing her attention to me. "You look gorgeous." I told her before I dabbed the inner corner of my eyes. She looked so beautiful and none of it seemed to be real, making me slightly emotional.

"Aw, Genevieve," her lip trembled just like mine as she pulled me in a hug.

Hugging her tightly, my resolve for what Estelle had told me weakened. Merilyn was on the other side yet in my arms she appeared to be the same. This could not be more confusing.
