Chapter 241: The unfair rule - II

It all happened within moments that no one could see coming that no one anticipated. One man yelled, another started yelling behind him and slowly but rather quickly every man was yelling profanities at the royal family.

I gasped loudly when it hit me, making me stumble a few steps back and palm my forehead.

"Genevieve!" Merilyn pulled to a certain direction but I closed my eyes in pain, not moving my hand cautiously.

"Oh my god," she grabbed my wrist trying to pull it away very gently, "let me see Genevieve. I need to see if it is blee—"

"It is." I answered her with a small hiss. It hurt.

My eyes opened at the screen I heard. I turned around to the direction I had heard it in and was ready to step when Marilyn held my elbow. "Don’t," she warned with a shake of her head.

Don’t?

The screening did not stop and I only grew curious and scared of what was happening. Before I knew it I had brushed her hand off my elbow and was charging into the direction of the nearest window to say why was there screaming.

"No," I whispered in disbelief at the sight of what was happening.

I could not believe that. They had everyone rounded and the vampires were not letting them go. The Vampire stood around the crowd in a circle caging everyone in with their fangs out.

It did not take me long to figure out that they were trying to scare everyone into submission and trying was just to work that was not needed here because they were successful. Every man slowly started to bend his knees when he saw the creature baring his teeth at him. The sight alone could make a grown man piss in his pants and with hundreds of vampires against them I knew what every human felt because I felt it too.

I felt the fear too. I felt my legs shaking under my skirts as well.

"This is not right Marilyn." I told her in a low voice as the pain increased. "This is no way to get loyalty and harmony among people."

She sighed and patted my shoulder. "I do not know what to say here anyways, but they will never get loyalty until the coming decades pass." She patted my shoulder again. "We should go to the healer."

"Healer? Merylin!" I hissed at her before I grimaced. The pain was blinding. It was increasing far too much but I wanted to continue the conversation with determination.

"We should go. You are clearly—"

I raised my palm effectively silencing her. "Mere len you need to tell them to stop immediately. That is no way to treat public you are going to ruin everything—"

"Everything does not stand when we do not have anything. Fear, for now, will work better." She cut me off and spoke in a hurry as a constant expression stayed on her face. "Please let us head to the healer. We need to have that checked." She held my elbow to stabilize me but I brushed it off again.

"You knew," I accused her as I heard of her defences. She knew what was going to happen. She was aware about everything and she knew the reasons why they were doing that which is why she could defend them without a second thought.

She licked her lower lip. "You. . .the blood, Genevieve. Please." She whispered pleadingly.

I heaved a shivering breath. The pain was too much. The silence had deafened my ears. People had grown quiet, the people had stopped resisting and chanting profanities at the royal family.

I grew quiet too.

******

Before I could open my eyes I heard them talking.

"I knew something like this would happen. Humans are always unpredictable and an uprising was meant to happen. Still I made sure that this girl was away from the balcony but she managed to get hit. What was Merilyn doing? How is it that she could not manage to defend the stone coming her way?!"

That was chiara.

"Marilyn must have never expected to happen, my love. You cannot blame her for that." That was her husband Dawson and he sounded somewhat near to me.

Chiara huffed loud enough for me to hear. "What about the girl, darling? Is Genevieve going to be alright? Is the wound on her going to—"

"There is going to be no permanent damage, my love. She will hear that at a normal pace depending if she wants blood of Christian or not." He cut her off.

" Well that is good." She sounded relieved. "Do you think that as a human she eats too little? I remember when Lara was a human and when I was, we never ate that less. That girl belongs to the royal family yet she does not eat!"

What in the world was wrong with this woman? They had been an uprising and she was talking about everything else in the world.

"It depends person to person, Chaira." Dawson answered calmly as I heard some rustling. "We cannot force feed her because she will end up vomiting."

"I was not." She replied with offence dripping from her voice. She did not like that.

Why were the two of them here? I understood The need for Dawson to be near me after all he was the healer but I did not understand why his wife had to be in the room.

"When do you think she will wake up?" Chiara said after some time. "Tristan is going to be here soon. I think he would not like to know that she still has not woken up."

Dawson sighed loudly. "I can heal and wipe her wounds but unfortunately I cannot tell you when she will be up. I think you should let her rest in my love. She might wake up otherwise."

For a moment, I almost stopped breathing. Did he know?

"Are you telling me to leave?" She asked as I could hear footsteps coming closer. I heard a small tutting noise right after which I heard the door close.

"You can wake up now, Genevieve," Dawson said lowly, "Chiara is gone."
