The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 219: The bond - III
Merylin wanted to protest but I did not give her the time to. I moved to the washing alone before taking my clothes off and just as I was left in my chemise the ladies in waiting entered.
Once I was ready to go out I moved to wear the cabinet for the jewellry were. There was the Crown that was presented to me by Chiara.
"Place this in a box very carefully," I told Dorothy.
"But this was given to you!" Merilyn objected. "If you give this back then this would convey that you do not like the person especially when you are going to be the future queen."
I knew that. I also knew what I was doing but this was important because this was the only thing I could use as leverage.
Dorothy placed it in a box and I supervised. "Give it to me," I said once she played the cover of the box, caging the crown in.
Taking it from her I want to wear I remember his chambers were. It was obvious that the king was not going to go to the Grand court room so soon. The proceedings would start after breakfast and breakfast had a lot of time yet. Not only that but since King Darius was here amongst us the breakfast was going to be a grand event.
Solomon and Bert glanced at the box in question but did not vocalise it as this started to walk behind me. Turning around the corner I could see his doors before Solomon walked past me and knocked on them. "Her Highness, Lady Genevieve is here." She murmured when the door opened and Nokul bowed in front of me.
His eyes again remained on the floor as he held the door wide enough for me to enter with the crown in my hands. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"His Highness will be out in a few moments. I have just finished." He bowed and walked inside what I assumed to be a bathing area.
Next when he came out directly outside the chambers, Tristan followed him only to stop at the threshold of the waiting area and stare at me.
I raised the box and my hand before pulling the lid to show him the contents inside to him.
"You do not like it?"
"No, I find it to be very nice," I said as I placed it on the table in the sitting area. "But I do not think I am worthy of such a title and Crown." I clasped my hands in front of me.
He narrowed his eyes. "So you bring it back?"
I nodded in confirmation.
"Take it back Genevieve," he sighed and rubbed his head, "I have a few troubles that I need to look into. Please take the crown back."
He looked stressed.
"Did I arouse you in the morning?" I blurted out and his head snapped up so quickly. His eye twitched slightly and before I knew it he stood in front of me letting me take a surprised step back.
"Wh-what was that?" I stammered and pointed to the place where he stood before. "You were there and I saw that!"
"I know and please do not yell, it hurts." He said with a small wince. "Also, Vampires and wolves are quicker."
I gathered that. I nodded quickly.
"Who told you about that?" He asked with his hands behind his back.
"Merylin did." I told him honestly. "I firmly believe that you should have told me about this."
He sighed and folded his hands in front of his chest. Lowering his head for a moment or two he raised it back, " I should have. In fact I would have if the word for not appeared in the hallway."
"About that," I remembered, "what happened?" I just wanted to know if he would tell me or not.
He stared at me for what seemed to be the longest of time. Something flashed his eyes and it was gone quickly, not giving me enough time to recognise it.
"We do not know here but Darius will look into it." He answered. "It is his citizen that is in question, so he decides."
That took me by surprise. He was going to tell everything? "And what happened in the morning when I touched the mark?"
"Exactly what Marilyn told you. Since I knew where you were, you called me for mating." He tilted his head as he watched me panic.
A mating call?! Now I realise that Merilyn had actually sugar coated her words.
"I. . . H-how could I do that?" I gulped. "Did it just happen for me to touch the mark?"
He started to nod but stopped. "Come sit," he pointed to the sofa and just as I started to lower myself I heard, "on my lap."
I stopped. "Excuse me?"
He nodded with a smirk and he was already sitting. "If I remember this correctly you agreed to give us a chance which means-"
"Sitting on your lap was not that." I interrupted him quickly.
He chuckled. "You are not giving the chance to just any king, my love. You are giving the chance to a vampire king."
The words alone sent a shiver up my spine. " Tristan. . ." I pleaded.
"It is you who wants to know," he raised a finger and pointed to me and then at himself, "and it is me who is providing the information." What he wanted to say was that I had to agree to his whims.
"Would you—"
"No," he answered right away and patted his thigh.
I licked my upper left before plopping myself over his lap and getting it over with. Of course he was going to use this situation to his benefit. I should have seen this coming.
"I love how close we are," he murmured in my ear and I glared at him. We were really close even though I was sitting on his knees and on the verge of falling.
"Stop it," I tell him with sharply, "now tell me, what is that I felt in the morning, especially the pressure on my neck."
