Chapter 213: Dinner with the king’s - IV

The doors opened just as Darius took a seat at the other end of the table directly in front of Tristan. The servant centre with plates of food and started placing them in front of everyone respectively. I paid special attention to the couples that had their spouse or beloved as they called them on their laps.

For me, I barely reached his chin.

In front of all of us for those who were sitting on the laps was kept only one plate.

Monster everyone. They all waited, appearing to be patient and once again a few of them were watching the king and the queen.

I felt something on my lips and when I lowered my eyes I found a piece of chicken, well cooked, in front of my lips. I followed the arm whose hand held it out.

Tristan held out in front of me expectantly. And that is when you realise that part was the expression that everyone was looking at us with. They were expecting me to eat.

It was the tradition that Marilyn and Anna were hiding from me.

I am going to my head towards the bind and he raised it to my lips as I took it in my mouth. Right after I did, the room fell into hushed whispers as everyone started to eat.

"Everyone waits for the king to feed his queen first." Tristan whispered into my ear making me shiver.

The queen ate first, not the king. "But why the change?" I asked him as he gave me another bite.

He whispered in my ear again, "because benefits are only one and they are meant to be cherished and everywhere. That is why you will see every man feeding his woman until she is full."

When he saw that my eyes moved from human to every woman in the room, every male was feeding the woman on his lap. No one sneaked a bite to themselves and focused on the female.

It was really touching.

"Here," a glass was raised to my lips, "have a sip." Tristan said. I drank a sip while staring into his eyes.

The care was new. It felt different and nice. It felt. . .good.

I had never seen anyone do this to their spouse. Not even my father to his now wife in the beginning of their marriage. They did this. Even though they were part of the darkness we always ran away from, they took care of each other.

Darius raised his glass. "I am happy to see that Her Highness Genevieve and you, my friend, are moving forward. This is for you." He raised his glass of justice, everyone gave it a loud cheer as a toast towards Tristan and I.

Everyone raised their glasses and cheered onto us, the couple; the king and queen.

"Thank you, Darius." Tristan’s loud and clear voice rang out throughout the entire room. I looked up to see his cocky expression.

I narrowed my eyes on him. What was he so cocky about?

He kept on feeding me chicken as the other men did to their beloved. In the end, when I was finished I shook my head and the plate was replaced. I then noticed that every server was still in the room and in front every couple that had the stomach of the females filled their plate was replaced by one with the bloody meat.

That did not happen with us.

I turned to Tristan, "Are you not going to eat?" We have to eat but I had seen him and his family eat in the morning.

He shook his head and leaned down. Right next to my ear he spoke, "you won’t be comfortable with that. I will only drink tonight."

Drink. Just as he said that word my eyes moved to the goblet. It hid the contents well. But I did not want him to starve on my account.

He didn’t move and it looks like he was not going to move anytime soon. "You sho—"

"I will be fine." He cut me off. "Just stay like this."

What was he doing? His nose was on my neck and it was the sight that Marilyn had bit me on. The right side.

What was he doing?

His nose touched my neck, making me jump slightly. It brought sudden and unwanted sensations immediately. It quickened my breathing immediately.

"Stop," I whispered to him. It did not help me that I was sitting in his lap.

He let out a huff and raised his head only to squint his eyes and narrow them slightly at Darius making me look at the man too.

Daruis was looking at us with a smirk on his face and a knowing look. I narrowed my eyes at him along with Tristan making him laugh slightly. He placed the napkin over his mouth pretending to white something as the hid that smile.

"Ahem, ahem," someone cleared their throat. They were sitting next to Vaughn.

As the entire room fell silent the ladies stood up with her glass waste in her hand towards the direction of the king which was Tristan.

"If I may," she ask for permission but without one word from Tristan started to talk, "I am so happy that all of us have quickly change the position that was always needs to be ours. Not only that but want to first sits on the throne of the king." She raised glass towards Tristan.

Chiara moved slight, "Yila—"

"No, I must say," Yila, or whoever she was continued to talk, "after that witch try to eliminate us all I am truly happy and blessed to sit amongst all of you without any more threat on our life. All because our king," she smiled more making her fangs visible to me, "was successful in avenging the death of his parents."

Death of the his parents?

"To the king of vampires Tristan!" She yelled as she riaed her glass. "May everyone know the wrath of the creatures of the dark."
