The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 201: A letter to Estelle - IV
His face changed impossibly dark and for the first time I was scared. I immediately got out of bed only to come to a halt and remember that I was changed. I stared at the change in unknown fear and then stared at the man who was on the verge of having a demonic transformation.
What had I done? I was always the one to control my tongue. How had I let it loose!
"You. . " He ground out and I could see the nerves on his neck growing more prominent by the moment passing. They were darkening in color. Tristan was controlling himself with everything he had. "Call. . Them . ."
Who? "Wh—" it hit me who he was talking about, "Solomon! Bert!" I screamed at the top of my lungs as the doors opened in a hurry and the two men fled into the room only to tackle Tristan down.
Vaughn entered the room and he tried to control the situation as well. I stared at the mess in front of me. Tristan was barely in control and I knew they could not tackle him much longer.
"You need to go," Vaughn hissed as he glanced at me before going back to holding Tristan down.
Go where? I could not even look away.
Merylin entered the room next and she gasped at the sight of what was happening. I looked back at the three men trying to hold Tristan down with everything they had.
They won’t succeed. I could tell.
Solomon and Bert were holding down the arms of Tristan from either side. His palms were on the ground and they were pushing their weight onto him. I watched Tristan as could no longer tell what he wanted to do. He looked like he was holding himself back from getting up and at the same time wanted to push them off him. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
He was powerful enough to do this but he was restraining himself. I knew that.
How? That, I didn’t know.
The chains rattled and I finally noticed Marilyn standing beside me breaking the chains apart. She put her hands on the bangle of the chain on my wrist and broke them into two halves freeing me of the imprisonment.
She did the same with my ankles.
I would have been astonished at the strength but....
My eyes move Tristan in the room. Two more men were keeping Tristan down.
"We need to go," Merilyn gripped my elbow. My eyes turned to her panicked face, "now!" She emphasized.
I looked at Tristan again before my eyes fell to the ground and I found something merely steps away from my feet. The book.
Merilyn started to drag me but my attention remained on the book. My lack of participation must have irritated Marilyn which is why she pulled me forward making the trip over my dress fall down making me hiss.
An animalistic hiss shook the walls and I raised my eyes to where it came from. Tristan and I were both on the ground and diagonal to each other. Merely inches away we were, but miles apart too.
I was scared, I knew my eyes betrayed that. However, Tristan’s eyes were anything but that. They were the eyes of a demon. They were black.
"Hurry up," Marilyn’s hands held my shoulders and she helped me up by making me break our stare. "We need to leave." She said and my eyes went to the book. It was right in front of me.
This was my chance.
I bent down once again and picked up the book before being rushed out of the room by her. I could hear the heavy grunting of men behind me but I did not dare to turn back. We were all trying to hold one man down.
I was shivering. I could barely hold my weight which is why I knew why Merylin had not let go and was holding my shoulders and basically helping me in walking.
"The library," I whispered to no one, "the healer."
Marilyn must have said something in return because we immediately started going down the stairs. I did not hear anything and I could not because my ears were buzzing loudly.
The shivering did not stop and I could feel my heart come up to my throat. I could hear my heartbeat in my ears too. It was too much. My legs were shivering while I knew I would give up anytime soon.
The doors were opened by two soldiers whom I had no idea about and within moments Marilyn and I were inside the closed doors.
"Calm, calm down," she patted my back. Now she slowly walked to the front of the library where the seating area was. She placed me on one seat and kneeled in front of me as she patted my knees to calm me down. "It’s over now. We are safe."
Were we? With how loud my heart was pounding in my chest I knew that I felt far from being safe. I could feel the bile rising up in my throat.
I sniffed and threw my head in my hands as I tried to calm myself down and I came to a shameless realisation.
I needed Tristan. I could cry at the realisation. I knew I needed Tristan to calm down and I knew that he could do it very easily.
"It is very scary, isn’t it?" Merilyn’s soft voice made me keep my hands down on my lap and looked at her. "It is so scary how one person can have so much control over us."
My lip trembled dangerously as I was about to cry. I sniffed loudly.
She smiled, "the only thing I can say in return is we have to have control over them."
"Your Highnesses,"
Merylin and I turned to see sir Walter standing with two tea cups in his hands, "I suppose tea would do you good?"
When none of us answered he raised and held out a teacup in front of me, "Ginger can soothe sore throats."
I chuckled and sniffed, taking on from him as Marilyn stood up to take the other cup.
Holding the eyes of sir Walter I kept the book on the table behind Merilyn’s back. He nodded to both of us, his eyes lingering at me, telling me that he knew and he would take care of it.
