The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 196: His proposal - III
Many times in my life I had been cornered into a situation because of the Crown that was on my head. It was never a choice in what a princess was supposed to do and what she wanted to do. Duty always came forward.
But when the crown fell off my head both of a married Princess and the one I had been given as a birthright, I imagined that I would never have to deal with such choices again but here I was torn between the choices that Tristan had given me.
"You can’t do that," I told him as I stared at him with the mix of emotions and thoughts going wild inside me, "you just can’t expect me to give you a chance without any prejudice when you bite my neck."
His eyes moved to the wound given to me by him. "Ah, yes, I did do that." His eyes then moved to me, "So no chance without prejudice then?"
I scoffed in disbelief. Was there anything left to say? "No!"
He nodded. "Well, then, I tried." He stood up and walked to the door.
"Wait!" I called him, "what are you talking about? What try?"
He pointed to me, "I just did not bite you, Genevieve. There are different kinds of bites this world and I gave you the one that is most important."
"What bite did you give me?" I whispered knowing that he would hear me.
He didn’t say anything. He simply walked out leaving me inside the room on the bed with chains wrapped around my ankles and wrists.
I slowly raised a hand and lightly touched the cloth which covered the bite on the side that Tristan had given me. What bite was it?
I gasped. He gave me the blood too!
Did it mean that I was going to change into them? Tristan had talked about how they had narrowly brought Marilyn back because there was some saliva from Allen inside her. Tristan had given me his blood which meant that I had a higher chance of turning into one of them.
I covered my mouth. Oh my god. Why had I not thought of it earlier?
The door opened and Bert braged in with a panicked expression on his face, "is everything alright? Are you in pain, Your Highness—"
I couldn’t keep it down, "Why do you call me that? What kind of happiness do I have?"
Bert looked visibly taken aback by my questioning. "Eh-what?"
I squinted my eyes slightly at him. Bert must know something and for now he was the only one available.
"Tell me," I urged, "come and sit with me. I need a few things answered." 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
"From me?" He pointed to himself. "I can’t do that."
I frowned even though I had been expecting it slightly, "why not?"
Bert shook his head. "I am just supposed to accompany you around the palace. Other than that I am not permitted to do anything. I am sorry, your highness, but I cannot go against the king."
"You called me Your Highness again, why?"
He gulped. "Well, you are his mate. We need to acknowledge your relationship with him."
What relationship? There was no relationship— I pointed to the wound on my neck, "What does this say about the relationship?"
He glanced at it before I knew it, I heard the door closed and he no longer stood in the room.
I blinked my eyes again. How was he going so quickly?
I touched the wound again. A shiver ran through my entire body. What was this?

The next time my door was opened I had already taken a nap. Anna walked in and so did Marilyn and followed by them was a cart filled with food.
"I have them prepare everything I could remember was your favourite," she said as they placed a small table on my lap, "Here." She kept the bowl filled with soup in front of me. I loved tomato soup.
"Thank you," I appreciated as her efforts. The chains were long enough for me drink without much pulling. She sat down silently at the end of the bed as I ate. It was obvious that made in was going to eat something that was red yet completely different.
She did not bother filling up the silence and neither did I. But that was when it struck me.
Did Marilyn not have a wound on her neck at my wedding?
It was on the other side of which was not visible to me. "Merilyn?" She brightened up and she turned to me. My eyes stared at the spot that the supposed wound was to be.
It was not there.
"What is the matter?" Merilyn ground and look behind her. "There is nothing there." She turned back and said.
I looked at her. She must have thought that I was looking at something behind her. "No, no, it’s not that."
"Then what is it?" She pressured me slightly.
I licked my lip, tasting the soup on it. I complentated on telling her.
She titled her head slightly with an eager expression on her face. She was waiting.
I nodded very lightly, "I remember there are so wound on your neck and you had it wrapped on my wedding. Was it. . ."
"The same? The one you have on your neck given by the king?" She completed for me,. "Yes, it is the same." Merylin answered.
I stared her neck. Marilyn leaned in slightly and I noticed the two marks on her neck. " Those. . "
"Are the scars left behind." She completed again. "The wounds usually heal but marks that are meant to stay, stay."
To think about it, I had two of them. "I have to Marilyn. One by you and one by him."
"His would stay, mine would not." She replied immediately, slightly embarrassed.
I asked further, "why?" She was not answering here. She was stalling.
"I. .uh. .that," she breathed heavily, was she not dead?
I narrowed my eyes at her.
