Chapter 195: His proposal - II

He touched my feet again. This time the soles were tucked and faced the bed. Now, he was touching the skin on the front. I sat up slightly.

Just as he touched my feet I felt the sensations all over again. It went from the food that it touched to my spine and it tingled all over my body.

I let out a shocked gas to how one touch can make me feel so many things. My toes called again and I talked to them this time I tucked them underneath my dress.

I don’t think you would go so far and be shameless enough to reach over and inside my dress. Even though he had changed I had a slight hope from him.

"That is what I’m talking about." He said as he stared where my feet were. "All of those feelings that you felt. The jumble of thoughts that came to your mind every thing that just happened when I touched you."

"How do you know about those?" I folded my hands and kept them on my knees before placing my chin over them.

He explained, "Everyone feels it. Given that you are not a vampire yet you do not as much as I do. I can feel your presence in the palace and you can only feel my presence in the room."

I was ready to ask another question before I processed what he just said. "Yet?" I spat in sudden disgust. "What is that supposed to mean?"

He huffed. "you know what it means yet you still ask me. It means that you know to Vampire yet but you will be soon."

"No, I won’t be." I corrected immediately and straightened my spine as I looked at him. "I won’t be joining the dark."

"The dark is just as fun. Only is forbidden because you are saying all the bad things happen here."

"They do,"

"Yes," he agreed, "But the villager whose daughter was victimized by one of the most serious crimes and then hand from a tree would have never gotten the justice he deserved after he had created a scene in front of the Grand courtroom. In fact, he would have been punished for spoiling the decorum of the palace. Agree?"

I had to. If it were anyone else than that they would have been banished. "Yes, agreed."

"The dark side, as you call it, allows you to live more than anyone in the world, Genevieveeve. It will make you more powerful than anyone else. The changes you hope to bring in this world can easily be brought."

I added in a dry voice, "those changes would be brought by fear. I don’t want that."

He laughed at that and the genuineness in it surprised me. "Fear is what drives people and forces them into the submission of never reaching out of the boundary set. Fear of what I did to a landlord and his child along with his friends will set a new brown tree and fear of never doing that to a girl ever again." He pointed his finger at a point made, " fear works well until people realise what you’re doing and then respect immurges."

Tristan could not possibly know so much because all of this information seemed to be highly practical. He was right. If something had to be set like a new rule or boundary it had to be enforced on the people faced until they understood why the royal family did it. Yeah I did not understand how he would know so much if he had never been king before this.

It was highly practical and what happened in reality, which meant he was right!

"The changes that you wanted to bring to your own kingdom and could be brought into this only if you become my queen."

My head shot up so quickly that it hurt. Did he really say that or had I just imagined it?

Tristan stared right back at me. "Those changes can be made very easily even in your own kingdom."

"You. . .you would help Estelle?" That was what he meant. How?

He nodded. "I could help her in getting to the throne of a country. It would be very easy for us."

He was playing with the strings of my heart. This had always been a delicate topic because if my stepbrother sat on The throne my sisters would be out of the country before we knew it. Such a delicate topic was not meant to be touched likely and I hated that.

My suspicions against his true intentions rose. "Why would you try to help me without any gain to you?" I murmured as I watched him closely. "You’ve changed Tristan. You would never help me if you have no gain to yourself."

He smirked. "Yes, I have. Had to, I would say."

My face soured at the admission. "And How do you know that?"

"It is not something that requires great intelligence." He gave a sarcastic reply with a mocking smile, "it is something that happens every time a step-sibling takes over the throne. The others are always eliminated."

"What do you want?" I asked him finally. "Just tell me and be over it." He must want something in return for his resources like everyone else did.

He sat up and I watched him carefully. The fear of being bit again had not left my mind.

"I do not want much Genevieve," he took my hand and held it tightly, "I just want a chance for us. A chance that you give me in hopes of carrying it out without any prejudice to my nature." His thumb rubbed circles on my rest as he looked down at my hand, " an honest chance of courting you."

My suspicions were not erased. "Is that all you want?"

He nodded. "I want you to come willingly to me. I can be bad, I can be bad enough to force you to the dark side and I will give you the chance to move out of it again but I want us to be together because we are meant to be." His grip tightened over my hand, "I want you to come willingly to me and not to any other man to be his wife."

I gulped as I looked at his hand covering mine. He had cornered me.
