The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 194: His Proposal - I
"The offer you accepted." He told me and his eyes visibly darkened, "the offer that you accepted of being his wife."
I couldn’t utter a word. There was no way possible that he could know about the offer but he just said that he had lost the prince about it and he had babbled everything out.
I lowered my eyes to his chest.
I could have dealt with the betrayal in them but when those eyes held no emotion it just got too much to bear.
"Why look away Genevieve? Can you not even look at me now?" He sighed, "I understand that I am not as handsome as the prince and do not look hideous either."
I shoved the scoff down my throat. It was highly unlikely that Tristan was not aware of what he looked like in comparison to the prince. Frankly there was no comparison between them.
"Look at me,"
I did, with a great amount of courage I looked at him. Never thought that anyone could have such a prominently chiseled jaw. Not only that but I had never understood if a man would ever look good with thick lips but Tristan just had the right size. His nose was slightly pointed upward but it looked perfect on his face. His eyes were now the colour of red like I had noticed so many times and the reason I knew why now. His eyebrows held a small scar one could not even notice if they did not look closely.
He was a piece of art. He was something that girls dreamed of yet he was the nightmare of everyone that followed the teachings of God and the light.
He was both deadly and dreamy.
He was watching me watching him and just as I noticed that I looked away. My cheeks boomed with colour.
"You look away again," he observed, "why?"
"Nothing." I muttered under my breath.
A hand grasped my chin and forced its way to his. "I am not done talking. You look at me."
I did, now I was looking at him.
"You accepted the proposal of being his wife. Care tell me how you would have done that if you here?"
I bit my lip. I was going to escape and he knew that. He was just playing with me.
His eyes narrowed slightly. "Usually, if someone would not give me the answer that I demand I would press on to the nerve that hurts the most." His eyes briefly glanced at my neck. It was currently my most vulnerable point.
My eyes watered up. They burned as I did not blink them otherwise the tears with fall onto my cheeks.
"I. . "
"Answer me," he pushed when I did not answer, "Go ahead."
I could not say it. I could not say it especially when he has just threatened me.
Tristian watched me think. I was aware of his eyes on my face. After a few moments when he finally gave up knowing that I was not going to answer his hand left my chin and went back to his lap as he nodded to himself slowly looking away.
"Well," he sighed and folded his hands over his chest making the muscles bulge against the cloth that tightened over it, "if you cannot answer then I need to find someone that would."
"What?" I whispered. Did he really say that? Was he going to fall so below?
He tilted his head innocently. "Yes, this always works. So who should I ask? I have Marilyn and then I have Lysar. I also have Diwal whom you have a close relationship to. If you want I can also have your sisters brought in."
My sisters?! "You going too far Tristan."
"Am I enough?" He replied. "Because I think that I am quite late in this. You have forgotten to who you are not only that but you actually planned to run away with another man."
I gulped. He knew. Of course, he knew. "I. . I didn’t. ."
"Do not bother lying," he give out resigned sigh, "I have known you for a long time and in that whenever you lie your breathing changes. Also I have had people confirm it and the prince confirmed it himself. I don’t think he will be going back to his Kingdom any more." He chuckled to himself.
My lip trembled. I gulped and shook my head slightly, "I just want to go."
"Go then."
I stared at him in disbelief. How can we say that after threatening me and then how could he say that when I was in chains?
He nodded. "If you can get out of this change and the palace, you can go."
"If?" I repeated, "why, What did you do?"
He smiled. "Idea what I found necessary. I made sure everyone in this palace knew who was not supposed to get out of these chains much less get out of this room." He tapped on the chains. "These are the ones that Merilym had and if she could not break out of them, I assure you that there is no way you can find a way around them."
I glanced at the chains. "What is the meaning of this?"
"Vampires and wolves do this to unwilling mates until the mate bond takes over. I am waiting till it happens with you and I will make sure that it does." He took of his shoes and I watched as he kept feet planted at the floor and lied down on the bed.
"What is that?" And how much that take over? "How?"
Turned to his side and props his head up on his hand that was supported by his elbow. He did not look at me but at my feet.
He moved his other hand and his finger caressed the sole of my feet making make curl and pull it away.
"That’s how." He eyes met mine and I did not like where this was going.
