Chapter 193: The bloody neck - III

After some time of quiet between Merilyn and me, Tristan’s Uncle; Dawson appeared. Out of every one of his family members, I was not expecting him to walk in. He was nicest though.

"Good evening Genevieve," He smiled as he walked close, "I would say Genevieve is a rather better name than Layla."

I chuckled at that. It just escaped my mouth.

"Well, I am a healer. I was before when I was a human, I studied for it and then was a vampire healer." He pointed to where Marilyn was sitting as she stood up. "Would you allow me to have a look?"

I considered that. "Are you a human healer?" I did not want another Vampire attacking my neck.

He nodded. "I am. If you are not comfortable, we can call a human healer." He offered sincerely.

I was not comfortable. After Merylin had admitted that they did lust for the blood, it was difficult to be around them especially after it had been two of them attacking me on both sides of my neck.

"I am not comfortable . . ." I admitted with a slight shake of my head. I did not want any of them near me.

He nodded with understanding as he stepped back, "Alright, I understand—"

"Check her uncle," Tristan’s voice was heard, and every set of eyes, human or not, went towards him standing in a corner. From the wall where he stood, his eyes met mine, "I do not trust her enough for a human healer."

"Trust?" I repeat it as I gave him an incredulous look. Did he want to talk about it?

He stared at me, calmly blinking his eyes. "Yes, I do not trust you. For all I know, one meeting it will take for you to run away with him. Perhaps, accept his proposal too."

I gaped at him for saying that.

"Well," Dawson cleared his throat, "Genevieve, it’s just a small check-up. I need to see if it’s infected or not, otherwise, we would be having a problem."

With Tristan still looking at me, I did not turn my eyes away and answer his uncle. It was clear that he was not going to back away from this and have me get a human healer.

Three creatures of the dark, three vampires in this room, and one me with probable blood pouring out of my neck that they could last for did not make me feel exactly safe.

"I’m right here princess," Merylin added softly, "I can hold your hand if you want."

Hold my hand in comfort while you take my life?

"Just get it quickly over with," I muttered as I looked down, ignoring her offer.

I heard his uncle move and he was on the left side as he took off the cloth and checked the wound. "Hmm," he touched it and started to clean it with a wet cloth, "the blood has started to clot, so that is a good thing. I think the healing is going to be quick." He murmured.

The next, he went to the other side where Merylin had bitten me. My eyes went to her as she looked away.

"This is scabbing already, good good," he murmured as he started to clean this wound, "I think I will leave this one open now."

Scabbing? How in the world has this wound started to scab over already?

"You have questions," Dawson said as he continued cleaning my wound, "you can ask them."

"And you would answer honestly?" I replied with a slight taunt because they had hidden a lot of information from me.

He nodded. "As much as we can."

’We’ can.

I tilted my head slightly as he angled by my chin. "How am I scabbing already? The wound was practically a puncture in my skin and it should take me more than that, more than a week to scab over."

"Yes, it should." He agreed right away. "The blood of someone’s beloved or a Vampire, in general, can be healing to a human. That is exactly what Tristan’s blood has done to you."

"What!" I looked at the man who stared at me without any expression on his face.

"Yes, if it was not for your blood you won’t be able to talk, much less get up from the bed. Marylin’s attack had made you weak enough, if Tristan did not give you his blood, you would have passed away before the sun came up."

I was hearing the words his uncle was saying but his eyes were blank. It looked to me that he did not have the slightest worry for me in this condition.

"If he was going to tie me up anyway, he should have let go of me completely." I rebuked. I raised my hand that was changed, "what is the meaning of this? I was once told that I was not a prisoner!"

He titled his head. "I was once sure that you would not run away from me."

"I was not running away from you. I was just meeting with the man that I knew." That was a lie. Well, half lie.

"Really?" Slight amusement became visible on his face. "Uncle, are you done?"

"Yes," Dawson replied, standing up with his box and looking at me, "do not move too much and do not sleep on your side. You do not want to press any of the wounds and have them bleed over."

I nodded and he walked out. Merylin followed him after Tristan gave her a look. He came close and stood at the edge of the bed. "Perhaps I should let you know that it is easy for me to get the truth out of someone, especially someone so weak-willed."

"I don’t understand," I narrowed my eyes at him.

He smirked and I found that slightly scary. "It only took me a few moments to make him babble out like a puppet. Do you know what he told me, Genevieve?"

With the expression on his face, I knew he was not going to tell me if I did not ask him what it was, "What did he tell you?"

"They offer you accepted." He told me and his eyes visibly darkened, "the offer that you accepted of being his wife."
