The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 192: The bloody neck - II
What trouble?
Marilyn slowly removed her hand and kept it in her lap.
The fear spiked again as I realized that she had kept her hand near my throat.
"You should not have done that. I had warned you earlier." Marilyn looked at me with disappointing eyes.
"Name. ." I whispered lightly as it got difficult with the pain, "take my name."
A huge smile came to her face. "Genevieve." She giggled.
I like this stretched my lips into a small smile. This was no big achievement because Marilyn had called me by my name many times before. This was an achievement now because Merilyn and I had some distance between us that had never been there before. The distance had arrived when she shifted towards the dark side.
Calling me princes and her Highness would not make sense now that I had no Crown over my head.
I want to know more about what I had done which is why I whispered, "Trouble?"
The smile on her face faltered and she nodded understanding what I wanted to know. "I know that the king told you about how it is difficult to stay away from each other when newly transformed and found our beloved. A husband maintaining distance from you and it hurts the beast inside."
"How?" The word left my mouth out of curiosity before I knew it.
"We long to be with each other. The presence of another completes our soul and its . . ." She shook her head, "I just have no words for it because it’s beautiful."
Well, that makes me feel ugly.
She continued, "so if we miss someone that is meant for us and we stay away from them, it’s lovely makes the beast go a little . . crazy. The only thing that was keeping His Highness Sen was the tube in front of him and you were safe and there was no threat of anyone taking you away. When you met the prince," she shrugged helplessly and glanced at the chains, "Hence, the chains were brought out."
I glanced at the chain. Both of my hands were tied to it which is why I have to keep my hands beside my body.
"Why? Is this normal?" I asked her slowly. I could feel my nose shutting down and myself growing colder.
Marilyn must have heard me sniff which is why she immediately stood up from the bed and walked out of the room only to come back with the blanket and carefully cover me with it.
She gulped as her eyes went back to the chains. "For those who resist."
When was it not given that people would resist being with someone who killed others to be alive?
I frowned as something was brought back to my mind. "Did this . . happen with Lethoris?"
She opened her mouth but did not say anything as she thought about it. She nodded then. "Yes, initially."
Initially? "But that is wrong." One could just not tie another down because they wanted to be with them. The other person had just as right.
"This happens for a reason you know," she began again and my eyes went to her, "usually it’s done for people that try to run away and if you run away in front of a beast, of course, the result would not be nice and the other time it is to keep the person at bay because when you live within humans the constant smell of blood creates lust but you go after."
"I understand the second," I tell her, " but not the first." The first reason was not a reason at all. Why was someone prioritized over the other?
She nodded. "It’s just. . ."
"Because you think you are more important than the other because you can overpower everyone," I muttered under my breath but by the change in her expression, I could tell that she had me loud and clear.
Marilyn looked offended. "No-but," she stuttered before her face and eyes turned firm as she said, "is not playing much for that. That happens everywhere. Just like the landlord did assert his dominance over the villagers, everyone does that, even the king, queen, and princess."
I blinked and stared at her for what she said and she turned her head and looked away clearly understanding what she just spoke off. "You did not do it but I have seen the royals do it all my life." She said loudly enough for me to hear. "Everyone does that when they have power and that cannot be unseen."
I felt bad. Worst.
I felt bad and worse because I knew what she was talking about was true. It had happened in front of me multiple times and as shameful as it was for me to admit, I had not done many things to prevent that from happening.
I did not know what to say as the silence became suffocating in the room.
"I shouldn’t have said that." She whispered and I shook my head. "That was uncalled for."
No, it was but, "But it was true." Sadly, but yes. "What happens now?" I asked her. I glanced at the chains.
"I do not know." She sighed loudly, "it is only The King that can interfere in the matters of two beloveds but since you are the mate of the king," she shrugged, "I don’t know who can."
That just rendered me helpless because only the king could interfere in such matters and Tristan was the king and also the person who was my beloved supposedly so. So who could help me with this? 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Where is he?" I asked as I looked at the chains again. He was the one to put me in them. "So he can put chains on me but he won’t come and talk to me in front of my face?"
She bit her lip nervously. "I would not say that if I were you. He knows you were going to run away with that man and that man did not keep his mouth shut. He knows everything."
"Everything?" I repeated as I felt the fear sprinkle up.
"Everything." She whispered back, her eyes holding mine.
