The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 184: The letter - I
From the balcony, we watched the entire punishment unfold.
People were afraid to walk out of their homes and witness the punishment given that you had recently been in a war that no one wanted to become a part of. The stability of the kingdom had been interrupted and they were afraid.
But as the town crier started to talk and announce what these men were being punished for slowly and steadily every man and woman started walking out.
First, as commanded by the king, the punishment of the landlord was carried out whose eyes were gouged out and this time his son and his friends watched helplessly.
Not only that, Tristan had stabbed further and he had burnt the word RAPIST onto their skins before the boys were tied down and tracked by an empty carriage.
Everyone in the village watches this happen except for children. In fact A few villages even picked up stones and bombarded them on the five boys that were being dragged into the road.
Eventually patches of blood could be seen as it tore their skins.
I sighed at the brutality shown by Tristan but it was well needed. I was aware of the royal procedure carried out even during punishments for stop first it would be traced in two days and then it would be us.
"Hang them," Tristan’s voice boomed, taking the attention of every villager and Soldier, "hang them over the poles by the limbs. Let everyone be aware of what will happen to those that do not understand the meaning of no."
Everyone stared at him in silence before Kristen turned around and went in.
Just as he disappeared but did not leave the balcony, the entire Kingdom erupted in cheers.
He didn’t wait. He went back inside.
From what I knew, piston has just made a statement that he did not care about people’s opinions and their happiness, but what was justified.
I went to my room as well. I was followed by both of my guards and only this time, I found something peculiar inside my room.
I was on the way to my bedroom when I found a letter kept on my writing table. I went towards it and wondered who had written to me because as far as I knew Estelle and Katherine did not know anything about where I was.
I gasped silently. I have received a letter from Estelle!
But how? How did she know I was here?
I opened the letter in a hurry and told the seal.
Sister Genevieve,
We have received horrifying news from sources and even though father refuses to comment on it we do not know where you are. I have given one of the letters to the spies and if one of them is received by you I would be happy to receive a reply back. I hope to receive a reply back.
We have come to know about the horrible news of the overthrow of the family. We have also been aware of who ded to stand against the family. I do not understand how such creatures could come into the world but from what I know, you are currently with them and that is not good.
Genevieve you must write to me back as soon as possible. Our spies have told me that you are staying in one of the guest rooms. Do not trust such creatures! They are killers by nature and we are the prey for them. You must maintain distance until I can get you out of there! From what I have been told by different people these creatures feed on blood and they have no principles when it comes to hunting. You must stay away from them and never get in their way.
I will find a way for you to be brought out of the kingdom at once when I receive a reply from you. My dearest sister, I need to know if you are alive or not, which is why I beg you to tell me something that is only between you and I so that I can trust the writer of this letter. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Yours lovingly,
Estelle.
Dear lord.
The door opened and I jumped into action. I threw the scroll underneath the table and turned around just in time to see Tristan entering.
He smiled as he stepped in. "Would you like to accompany me for lunch?"
Looking at his smile and quick flash of teeth, my mind immediately kamjor the word killer and how I was the one he was supposed to hunt.
"I . . " I what?
His smile vanished as a concerned expression took to his face. "What is wrong, Genevieve?"
I gulped and I felt a slight pain in the side of my neck which gave me the excuse, "I. . . The wound is paining slightly. I think I’ll go to rest." I whispered and understanding dawned on him.
"Ah, yes," he nodded, "I completely forgot about how much you must feel drained of energy for today. You can rest and I will have some wake you up for dinner. Is that alright with you?"
I nodded, "Thank you," I added as he left but not before giving me a sweet smile at the end. I almost returned him with one of mine but then I remembered . . .
He was a killer.
When I was eating fruits she was drinking the blood of someone, someone who was probably alive.
I looked out of the window as I walked to it. What was I to do now? I could take up the offer sent by my sister and get out of this Kingdom without anyone knowing or I could stay. . . But what after that? Wait until one day Tristan decided to kill me as well?
The uncertainty settled into my heart and I could no longer control it.
I bent down and picked up the scroll written by estelle. I was ready to sit on the table and write a letter back to her but when I remembered who I was supposed to give it to?
Sir Walter, perhaps?
