The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 172: A friend - II
I did not fall asleep this time. My mind had too many thoughts running around for me to be able to do so.
I knew I had to meet Marylin to know if the Marilyn I knew was in there or not. What kind of punishment was he going to give to Marilyn? If he was already a creature of dark and immortal then there was not much he could do about it other than give her a punishment that would cause her loads of pain.
The pain in my neck was a constant reminder of what Marylin was capable of. Tristan said that I had been out for weeks which meant that she had taken more blood than necessary.
I could almost feel the cry bubbling up.
I had the view in my mind as I remembered how she had charged on me. Her eyes had darkened and the way she opened her mouth like an animal did not escape past me. Even if I close my eyes now I could see her.
Animal, my friend and only friend in the entire world, had turned into an animal and had attacked me.
I huffed tiredly. This was too tough.
I stood up and with great effort walked to the small window. One could barely get their hand out of it. It was long, longer than my arm but not as much as in width.
The door opened, "I am . . ." Diwal’s eyes moved from the bed to where I was, " . .back." he said as he continued to chew on something. "Why are you standing there? Should you not be resting?"
I look out of the window. "I want to meet Marilyn."
"Is Marilyn not the one who attacked you?"
I nodded.
"Why would you want to meet someone who attacked you? If I was ever given the option to meet the man that attacked me, I would have rather killed th-the opportunity." I gave him a look and he shrugged. "Kill the opportunity as if not to meet him." He explained further.
I shook my head to myself. "Where do you think she is?"
"The dungeons." His answer was immediate. For a moment I did wonder how he knows so much but it must be the talk of the palace.
I turned to look at him with a blank face, something that I had adopted from Tristan. "Do I still have your loyalty?"
He nodded firmly, the childish expression left his face as he said, "you have my life mistress."
I smiled, "then prepare yourself because in the night you will be taking me to the dungeons."
******
"Do we really have to do this?" Diwal asked me as he helped me down the stairs. "You cannot even stand properly, much less walk down the stairs. I don’t think we should be doing this."
"Hush," I whisper out in a tired voice. This was raining more energy than I had thought. "Just take me there."
"But why?" He whispered harshly, tired by an adamant decision. "She attacked you! Do you not see that she could do it again?"
I huffed and stepped down on the step. This seems to be never ending. "I am taking a wrestler with me. This could also determine if you are of use to me or not."
That made him quiet. Thankfully.
The dungeons appeared finally and I heard it. For the first time someone was down that talking. That was not good.
"Can you send them away?" He shook his head at what I said.
He peeked over his shoulder. "I think they are there to restrain Merilyn if needed."
I hissed Slightly. That means they won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
"They won’t let me pass." I told him, "kill them."
He huffed, "with the uncertainty on your face I don’t think you want me to." He pointed to my face. "You know it."
I did. I would hate to kill anyone. Well, except for those dirty people. Those dirty men deserved to die.
I gulped. I tilted my chin slightly open straight and my back even though it shot a huge pain to my neck. I stepped with the help of Diwal down and once again became the princesses I was raised to be.
The men ceased talking when they saw me in front of them. Their eyes widened slightly for a quick moment when they realised who I was. They had to be the creatures of night.
"Your highness," their heads bowed down immediately, "we were not expecting you. Shall we call the king?"
"King?"
"King Tristan," Diwal said from behind me. I must have said the word out loud in confusion.
Oh king? "No," I told them firmly, "Tristan is not needed here. I need you to lead me to where Marilyn is."
They looked at each other, one of them open his mouth but I cut him off before he could say anything. "Now."
Casting a look to the other person they started moving inside before grabbing a torch. Diwal took one more.
I knew that there was only little time that we had before one would escape our sight and call Tristan.
Lysar was there and he came to the door only for his eyes to bulge out when he saw a gauge wrapped around my throat. I did not pay attention to him and moved forward to where Marilyn was.
At least they had kept the prince in light. Marilyn was kept in complete darkness as if she was not surrounded by enough.
They opened the door and Diwal moved inside and raised the torch into Merilyn’s direction. Her eyes raised and met mine.
They were apologetic and they were getting teary. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
It broke me.
She was chained up. One of them went around her neck and the others held her limbs intact. I could tell by the amount of light that Diwal had provided she has not attempted to thrash around. She had accepted this.
That was Merylin. My guilty Merilyn.. the one that was my friend.
"That’s it," I said and moved inside the cell. I moved to the lock of the chair and demanded the key from the guard.
"Don’t," she whispered.
I shook my head with determination. "I can’t."
