Chapter 171: A friend. - I

"D-diwal?" I whispered and started to get up, failing miserably. "Is he alive?"

Tristan nodded."Trust me, you will be surprised."

And I believed him.

Tristan within moments appeared in front of me and helped me sit up on the bed. I wondered how he reached so quickly as I glanced back at the door. I did not even hear his footsteps.

I warmed over where he touched me.

He looked up and our noses touched. As I looked into his eyes and with our nose almost touching, I realised that there was never a better situation as an example for so near yet so far.

He looked away first and I closed my eyes instantly feeling the rejection.

I heard footsteps this time and Diwal entered only for me to gasp. "Whatever in the world happened to you!" I shrieked at the sight of him.

He grinned at me. "I just started eating well."

Well? Starting to eat well would be an understatement for him because he towered me and anyone else like anything. He had grown more muscular than I had previously seen him. The heavier his build was the more I wanted to know what happened to him.

"What in the world happened? Did you join wrestling behind me?" My eyes could not believe what was in front of me. From seeing the boy to barely surviving and with all kinds of wounds on his body to seeing him healthy in less than a week and then to see him like this more than a soldier was truly astonishing!

"What happened to him?" I turned to look at Tristan and asked him that. He was still standing with me. I looked at Diwal but I found him looking at Tristan for a moment before his eyes hurriedly turned to me.

What was that?

"I do not know," Tristan said as he looked at him, "perhaps the boy will be able to explain to you better." He finally looked at me and his eyes softened slightly, "Solomon and Bert standing outside. If you want to go on need anything else to say the name."

I nodded and watched his figure leave the room but found When he did not close the door behind him.

Shaking my head slightly, I turned to look at the heavy boy in front of me. "Diwal, what happened?"

He shrugged like a little boy. "Nothing. I told you I started eating well."

I wouldn’t have been able to catch his life if I did not have Catherine in my life. "Come and sit here." I pointed to the chair that was beside my bed which had been previously occupied by Tristan.

I almost cringed when I heard the chair creek under his weight. I had half a mind to actually have him sit on the bed.

"Explain this to me this," I began in a gentle voice, "when I had first seen you in the market of flash you were barely a life. You cannot even open your eyes on water out in pain. Then I saw you miraculously heal within days and now you appear in front of me after a few weeks to be more built as a wrestler. Can you explain to me how this was possible for you within a year?"

" Uh . . Food?" He muttered, looking scared of me and I narrowed my eyes,

"What are you hiding from me?"

He gulped. "This uh . .They. . This is what I could find so that they would not kill me."

"What?"

He nodded and continued, "the soldiers who after me and since I had less height then I found myself into a home for wrestlers. I told them that I was an orphan and they gave me shelter and now I am a wrestler."

Was it as easy as he said? Was I supposed to believe that?

I stared at him before finally closing my eyes and letting out a tired sigh. This was consuming more energy that I liked and I did not have much as pain was growing more at this point.

"I understand that you took shelter but what was the need of being one?"

He pointed to the muscles. "The girls come to me now."

I narrowed my eyes on him immediately. If I was not sick and could not move I would have smacked him.

He gulped, "we-well, I wanted to protect you. I thought they were powerful enough and good enough to fight many soldiers at once. I could protect you the most."

That warmed my heart. I smiled at him. "Why don’t you go to the kitchens and eat some more if you want?"

His eyes brightened up like a kid who was given sugar more than needed. " Do you really want me to go and eat? Are you giving me permission?"

I nodded and chuckled. "Yes. Go ahead."

I smiled happily at the sight of him giddily walking together like a child even though he was built as the biggest wrestler I had ever seen.

When the door closed I finally let myself go and slumped where I was sitting. Now that there was no one in the room I could finally think.

Marilyn was the one to attack me and no matter what I thought about it the reality did not change. It hurt to think about her being the one to attack me but I also understood what riston had told me. The smell of blood attracted her to me which, if I wanted to console myself I could say, that she would not have if I did not have blood.

I blinked my eyes as they started to burn with unnecessary tears. At the thought of Tristen giving punishment to her I could feel myself tearing up.

How could I let this happen again when this time it was because of me? This time I have the power in my hands to stop them from doing any harm to Marylin.

Birthday thought also came with another side. Marilyn. . . I had to go see her.
