Chapter 159: Sorting the past - I

I frowned immediately, "why should I move from the door?"

He thinned his lips. "Do you happen to realise that you make the situation difficult when it does not need to be?"

I narrowed my eyes at him.

"How is your surprise supposed to enter the room if you do not step away from the door. I don’t think they would like to come from the window." He raised my eyebrow, "however, can make them climb if you want."

I stepped away from the door and it opened immediately.

I gasped at the sight of them. "Oh my!" It was Laila and Dorothy! They were my ladies in waiting when I was in Melenmore!

"Princess!" They both chimed together. The wide smile on their faces brought a smile to my face. I was so happy to see familiar faces.

"Outside the door stands a woman named Anna. She will teach you everything you need to know about this palace. The new rules and regulations along with the uniform that you to a supposed to wear." Solomon spoke from behind.

Tristan’s words took my attention, "for a few days and I will take over for you Genevieve until these two are ready." They gave them a meaningful glance but before I could ask him about it Anna called both of them outside.

I smiled at them once more before the door closed and I was left alone with him.

He watched me and I stare back at him. I could not be this shameless. I was taught better.

"Thankyou Tristan. It was nice to see a few familiar faces." I gave him a quick bow of head in gratitude along with my words. I truly appreciated this. "But how did you manage to get them here?"

He shrugged.

He looked at the window in my room and said, "If you wish to go anywhere, tell your demands to the two men standing outside your room. They will make the necessary arrangements." He gave a firm before walking to the door and opening it making me step back and caution. He was gone in the blink of an eye.

What was the hurry? I looked at the window walking to the same spot where he started but did not see anything. I could only see the forest far away and never mind the gardens right underneath the window when I walked close to it.

Why did he walk away in such a hurry? I could not see anything here.

The grounds were empty and one could not even see a servant. No matter what palace it might be there was always one or two soldiers standing on guard whereas the others were walking for patrol. I wanted how long it was going to be before I would see soldiers walking in and out again.

The wind blew and it slowly moved the hair that were out of place in my hairdo. I sighed softly.

It calmed me and with the calm mind I started to think.

I had loved Tristan but I did not know if I loved this . . . Part of him. Was even supposed to love this? Could anyone love a man who did this?

I had never liked war and I was never in favour of it. If there was something that could be done to avoid it I would always stand in the favour of that until it crossed the boundaries. But to love a man who would survive by the blood of another only made me contradict my own rules.

A blood sucking man. A. . . Vampire he said, he was.

Who was I?

His beloved.

But where did that bring me?

I closed my eyes and soothed my hair that were flying away by the wind. I had another thing on my mind which was far more important than these aimless thoughts which were taking me nowhere.

I had to get out of the past first. Sort it out as much as I could.

I walked to the door and invited Solomon in to talk.

"I cannot, my lady," he bowed his head slightly in apology, "but at this moment you are alone and until there is a lady waiting inside with you I cannot come into your room." 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

My eyebrows slightly raised themselves at the words he said. I had never seen a man decline an opportunity. Everyone Wanted to be rumoured to be the princess’s beau.

I pursued my lips slightly. I have to talk to him and if I talked to him in the corridor there was always a slight fear that someone could overhear a conversation.

"Um," I looked at Bert, "how about we leave the door open? Bert inform me if someone else walks by?"

Both of my gods glanced at each other and I wonder what that was about.

Solomon nodded and stepped only two steps in the room. He did not even bother to stand in front of me or in the middle of the room. The man maintained a distance.

"I was thinking if you could find someone for me," I told me as my hands fidgeted. "This is someone really important."

He nodded, giving need encouragement I needed.

"Diwal, I need you to find Diwal."

He look at me as if he waited for something before frowning, "Is that all, my lady? Can you provide me with something more?"

"Uh, umm," what could I tell him? "He will look very weak by physics. I had rescued him from the market of flesh." What else? I rummaged across my brain.

Coming across nothing more I shook my head. "He has dark brown eyes if that helps you Solomon. Except that I do not have any specific description for him."

He nodded slowly, looking down at the floor before looking back at me. "It might take some time, my lady. If you excuse me for that I shall present you with the results soon."

"That’s fine," I waved it off, "thank you Solomon." I watched him nod and leave.

The next thing to do was to talk to Allan.
