The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 135: The letter, A Letter - I
I watched as Tristan walked out of the door in anger and Darius followed him after straightening his clothes. I just stood there with a drying cloth on my chest.
A girl came but stopped short when she saw the tangled sheets on the bad me standing barely clothed and the door wide open.
"Uh . ." I started back and forth on everything and I narrowed my eyes on her.
"Shut up!" I hissed. "Mind your business and tell me how long does it take to reach when you know I have to get dressed for the day?"
My words had seemed to bring her out of her stupor.
"Sorry, my lady," she whispered hurriedly and closed the door. She came towards me holding out my dress and we carried on my morning rituals without any further delays.
The breakfast gong was her while she was in the middle of doing my hair. I tsked under my breath, should I even go after what happened? Would it make sense for me to go?
"I have finished, my lady." She informed me dutifully. "Should I escort you to the breakfast hall now?"
" Do I have too?" I asked her as I played with the small earring in my hands not looking at her directly. "Surely the king would not be free to conduct an audience on a daily basis."
She shook her head instead when I glanced at her. "Yes he is not free to conduct audiences all day but the king does eat meals three times a day and he likes to eat them with people. For now, you and sir Tristan are staying with him so he would like to eat with you."
Oh well, lucky me.
I sighed and huffed then. Throwing the earring back on the dressing table and walking out of my room followed by the new maid who escorted me to the dining hall.
"Good morning." I wished to Darius who was already sitting there. I truly wonder why Tristan was still avoiding me after what happened that morning.
Intended.
The word alone sent shivers down my spine.
He nodded and greeted me back. He stood up to pull a chair out for me.
"Tristan will be here after a few moments." He told me as he was going back to his own seat. "We shall be having breakfast when he comes. Is that alright with you?"
I will finally have the chance to look at his face without having him find someone. Also demand answers to what happened in the morning. "No, I am quite alright with it." I replied.
I was trying not to think much about his words. But if I give it a thought which I had been, even though I knew I should not have, it was clear that he still has feelings for me. Darius would not joke like that now would he?
The door opened and a man walked in. By the dress that he was wearing it was obvious that he was one of the servants of the court but not a soldier and also not a minister.
"Your highness, the queen has replied back."
The queen? Was it the one that I was thinking about?
" A fairly quick reply that was," he held out his hand, "this one is for you Genevieve." He read the contents of it and it was addressed to my name which I read as soon as I received it in my hand.
I gulped slightly before opening at. Why has the queen addressed me?
’My darling child,
With the unfortunate turn of events I write to you and your eyes only after with s letter. I would suggest you are incompetent self to burn it after you are done with it. Due to your betrayal we have decided to call off the treaty and be pronounced dead after having been abducted. Do not worry no one shall know of what has happened except for the three people that were there except you. I cannot imagine the shame that you would bring up on both of the kingdoms If ever did was to get out.
Because of this I assure you that there will be certain circumstances that you will have to face. Your mistake shall be paid heavily for by your family and the ones that you are residing with. Do not worry, even if you try to make yourself known you will be killed immediately. Witchcraft is a powerful thing and much filled by the God fearing people. Also I would like you to remember, what happened to that maid could happen to a lot of people.
There is no need to say that we shall meet soon again because I would rather see your dead face.
The Holy Queen of Astria.’
I kept on staring at the letter as a tear dropped and immediately created a wet spot which resulted in the ink smudging slightly.
"Wow," I whispered and rolled the scroll once again to keep it decide My plate. What have I done to deserve this?
"Excuse me Genevieve," Darius stood up and the expressions that he had on his face scared me, "I must meet with my ministers. This is an urgent matter. Tristan shall dine with you." He threw the letter on a plate before walking out and I flinched. He was angry and there was no denying that especially when he slammed the doors on his way out.
As soon as the doors were closed my eyes went back to the scroll and I stood up. There was no one in the room because the servants were yet to be here to serve breakfast. Without thinking twice I picked up a letter and read through its contents.
. . . Princess Genevieve. . . Not married
I sighed and placed the letter on my chest in happiness. I was not married to the prince. That’s alright, by the king’s permission of the north I could actually settle here!
I read further with a smile on my face.
. . However. . Leave . . . Or war. .
War?!?!
