Chapter 134: The woman I love - II

~Tristan ~

Most of his life he had waited for the opportunity to be turned and when the opportunity came it also came with a shit load of pain. That pain might have made him stronger and aware of what was happening around the world and that pain he had bared for the woman he knew would be his one day.

But it was only to go down in rain because even though he had her at arm’s length ready to be his she readily accepted the fact that survival of one person by eating another was the sin. Which only meant that if she ever came to know about his existence she would think of him as a sin.

A sin he was.

Genevieve had feelings for him and he knew that. He was well there along with the entire palace. Her heart escalated the pumping of blood and her cheeks reddened immediately whenever she saw him.

She was in love but she was not aware of it yet. For her she was merely attracted to the man.

Looking at her all ripe and ready for taking while he had to control himself who was a sin was torture which is why he had been avoiding her until he could get his head in the clear. He might as well never tell her or just turn her one day and that would be the end of it. Once Genevieve was turned, she would never have a mind to stay away from him. Genevieve would readily forgive him.

He could not tell her and he also could not stay away from her. The beast inside him was his Singh continuously at him. The distance created between the both of them was a torture. Especially when he knew that he could not touch her and had to maintain a respectable distance in between them.

He glared at the man on top of him who glared back. Not many had dared to speak like that in his presence and not at all heard anyone ever survived after doing that.

Yet the man who was sitting on top of him said otherwise. Darius was an old friend but that friend had a long tongue and even worse mind. He had no idea what his beast was thinking when he saw a badly dressed Genevieve alone in a room with a man.

With the sudden gush of anger he threw Darius on the floor and stalked out of the room. At the end of the whole as he walked quickly he could still hear Genevieve’s quickened heartbeat.

He stormed into Darius’s study, waiting there and pacing around because he knew that his friend would soon follow what he did after moments.

"What?" The king of the north said as soon as he entered the room.

"What?" Tristan barked out loudly. "Why didn’t you tell me what you were doing in her room alone while she was barely dressed!"

"Oh please," Darius huffed, " you and I both know that she was not barely dressed because we have seen barely dressed women and they do not look like what Genevieve did at all."

Tristan gritted his teeth in frustration. He was a good friend and could make mockery out of any situation which helped at times but for most of them, it did not.

"Darius this is not funny and I would appreciate it if you would not try to make it that way." He sighed. As a king Darius was one of the greatest ones that someone had ever seen and witnessed but as an individual who was his friend there was someone who was impossible to talk to. He was like a kid high on sugar.

Darius sighed and his expressions calmed down. "I have to do that to make sure you understand what you were missing out on. She is a human and for all you know she will leave you one day and there is nothing you could do about it without degrading yourself more in front of a. So you might want to act because now she doesn’t know that you love her."

"Intended." He bit back.

Darius shrugged. "Doesn’t matter. She knows."

"This does not work well in my favourite Darius. I cannot tell who I am when she thinks that someone eating another is a sin."

Darius scoffed and his frustration with both of them grew. "Animal eating and other animals for the survival of the food chain is nature. Human eating someone something that he is superior to is nature. It is nature and it is the way it will always continue. However, humans eating humans will always be considered as a species because it is frankly, never going to be considered normal by anyone." He shook his head. "I think you should try to understand it as wolves do not eat wolves. We kill each other and leave it at that."

Tristan looked away in helplessness.

Darius stared at him before saying. " I think you are reading too much into the situation. What option does she have here, to cross lands and lands full of snow to reach the border only that there will be wolves patrol in the area and she would be caught? No one can come in and out of this country without my permission and you must remember that riston. Don’t be afraid because she has nowhere to go."

" It’s not that!" Tristan hissed in Denial. " I don’t want her to think that loving me is the last option she has left. I want it to be a choice."

Darius laughed sarcastically, " what makes you think she is ever going to love a man who sucks the blood out of other humans willingly? What makes you think she wants to live forever in the first place like you?"

"You make me sound like a fucking demon." Tristan pointed out.

"Aren’t we all?" Darius mused but then got serious, "do not give her the choice of willingness. The human would never understand and appreciate it. Take what is ours and do not give them a chance to attack us ever again."

Tristan knew what Darius was talking about. He also knew how right his friend was and the next steps that were coming into his life for not going to be easy.
