Chapter 127: The bloody sight - I

"Are you sure? What if it does appear that you are married to him?" The king asked and for once I took it seriously rather than taking it as an insult.

The betrayal I had received from those people was something I had never imagined. If anything I had always imagined my father would take my side in situations that would threaten my life and my integrity but he had not stood up for me like I had always expected him to. The respect that I had for him was long gone along with the love that was once there.

"If it does come to it, I would like to apply for the divorce." That was something I feared as a good Christian but now was something I wanted. I desperately needed myself to be freed from those shackles holding me to those people.

"Alright then." He answered and I saw sincerity in his eyes. Tristan however was listening silently and chose not to comment throughout the matter.

"What do you think about it Tristan?" Of course the king would not leave Tristan alone and tried to involve him in the conversation as well. "Do you think of to get divorce she would be able to restart her life? Divorced women are often treated worse than widows are."

"I would rather cut their heads off if they ever thought of mistreating her in any sort of way." Tristan’s reply was immediate as she had expected the king to ask the question and had his own answer ready. The words instead of making me feel fearful or even disgusted at the sight of killing warmed me over as they relied of how much he cared about me.

We all began to stand up and leave the room as the dinner was over and we had already had a dessert.

"If it is not much trouble for you Genevieve, I would have to take Tristan away from escorting you. The maid shall escort you back to your room’s."

Tristan opened his mouth to object but I held back, " it is fine Darius. I shall take my leave now, Goodnight." I wished both of them good night in return as well. The maid was waiting outside for me as soon as I walked outside of the door.

She smiled at me and started walking along with me. I did remember the direction from where my room was because I had been used to walking around and castles for a long time.

"If you want their servants to walk around at night and will fetch you anything that you need." The maid informed me and I looked at her with a small smile on my face not wanting to appear rude to the information that I was already aware of.

"And also—"

A gasp left my mouth as I heard a loud clash and so did she. It made us both jump at the suddenness and the loudness of it. She turned to look at me with wide eyes for a moment before walking into the direction and I followed her out of curiosity.

"Oh dear, " Anna immediately went down at the sight of fallen dishes and utensils over the floor. A kitchen made had really slade and that has resulted in everything being in chaos.

Anna immediately stepped forward and helped her companion by picking up the following dishes. I stepped back as a look that the both of them who were busy investing to each other about something. With the moment I had reached back to the hallway and began my little mission of searching what was around in this palace.

I stepped onto the hobby but to the complete opposite turn from where my room was. I knew what was around in that corner and the hallway and as my room did. So it was a dead end there.

"Oh hush. . "I stopped immediately when I heard that. There was whispering going around somewhere and I inch closer to where it was. It was a small hallway, a servant quarter one could day and I leaned in to see what was going on.

"Ah. . ."

I gasped silently and stepped back. Did people no longer have the decency to use rooms or were hallways something new and just so better?

I stepped back respectfully even though I did not understand why. It was their choice to have intimate relations in the hallway when anyone could walk in on them.

"Don’t take too much." Too much what? "I could not stand up yesterday and had to take a leave because of dizziness.

"But your blood is so much better." I heard the man moan out and I turned around to the door.

Blood?

Did I hear that correctly? For a moment I continued to listen for him to repeat his words and confirm that it was blood or not.

What was I thinking about? Of course it could not be blood!

I did not hear anything else, except for sounds of pleasure which only made my own face red in. Perhaps I should leave instead because it was obvious that no one I was talking about blood and I really missed hearing something.

"Ahh!" I stepped closer to the door from where the sounds were coming from. They were. . Now I wanted to intervene because that sound clearly was a sound of pain. But was I to enter?

But curiosity got the better of me and so did my nature of trying to help everyone which is why I slowly stepped inside the room and tried to spot a couple as discreetly as possible.

I covered my mouth in horror. The Woman stood with her back against the wall while the man . . . was sucking the blood out of her neck.

I blinked and checked again. Were my eyes playing me?! Was he truly sucking the blood?

"Oh my god!" The words left my mouth as a scream before I knew it. That was blood!
