The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 126: Dining with the king- III
Tristian walked In from the doors and his eyes immediately landed on me. "Are you alright?" He asked as soon as he neared me.
"Yes," I nodded. Why was he asking if he knew that I was with his friend?
He nodded and then turned towards the king who was watching everything like entertainment.
"What is the meaning of this Darius? You were not supposed to meet her without me." He snapped.
"Why?" The king asked as he folded his hands in front of his chest and teased, "are you worried that she might like me better than you?"
Tristan scoffed at that. "Why do we have to say that when we know that it is an insult to you."
Darius chuckled and turned to the butler, "Serve his dinner, my friend."
My eyes went to the butler who really served resistance dinner. My friend? Did this king call everyone his friend? If it was true then why did he kill everyone that was just sent to say whether or not this Kingdom was thriving?
"Do you need anything else my lady?" The butler’s heavy and hard voice bumped me out of my thoughts and I shook my head in front of him.
"So what was going on?"
I did not reply to Tristan’s query as I expected him to be talking to the king and addressing me. But when I heard no reply and only silence and looked up to see both of them looking at me.
"Oh? You were asking me?" I asked with a slight and certainty in my voice.
He nodded and so did the king.
"Darius can be quite notorious with his questions and I do not trust him enough that he would tell me honestly what he was talking about so I trust you with that."
I thought about it and then nodded. The king was here and this might be a test to see if I I was a liar or not. Also I would love to rely on the information to Tristan about how the king was questioning my relationship with his.
"Darius was asking me about how much do I know about you."
Tristan nodded, " at how much is it that you know about me?"
" Not much according to what I heard," the king interrupted, " I do not like the fact that she’s not aware of anything at all happening in your life. How is that supposed to work in any of our favour?"
What?
" That is something we will see in the near future—"
"Near future is very near and will arrive soon as than you think. If you think about the future now then it will be something that you wanted to be otherwise I’m not sure if you will have want to begin with!" The king snapped at him and I could feel the tensions in the room.
Tristan glared back at him with equal anger and I was slightly shocked at how he could do that to a man with such power.
"If you would let me finish then I’m so we can think about something. For now that is not something we are to discuss."
"Then when?" Seems like the dam of patients for the king just broke and he was not ready to wait any longer for whatever this was. Should they even be talking about it in front of me?
Tristan sighed impatiently. He looks down at his plate as a thinking about it and then my eyes move to the king who was watching Tristan and even if he was aware of my eyes on him he did not turned to look at me.
"I will think about it and let you know. For now we have to go along with it." That was watch Tristan said before giving the king ppointed look. The king held his stare equally and after sometimes when there staring match was over he nodded and began eating again. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
Looking at them once again as they had begin to eat their food I started to eat mine.
I waited for someone to fill the silence but no one spoke after that. The king seemed to be lost in his own thoughts and Tristen did not disturb in. I want to talk with this was the most silent dinner that I had ever attended but I dare not speak lest the attension might come on me once again.
"Genevieve,"
I guess I spoke too soon.
"Yes, yo—Darius?" I placed my cutlery on the side and waited for the king to speak.
"I have heard a lot about you and the latest of the news was that you have recently been married."
My heart still at the information but I nodded at him nevertheless. It was true I had married someone before being declared a whore.
The king nodded and continued, "if you want I can have it inspected to whether or not your marriage was registered because I am sure that you have not signed the document yet."
"I had not." I wonderd to myself. That was true I had truly not signed anything regarding the treaty on the marriage between two individuals.
"Do you want me to?" I looked up at him and he said it again, "do you want me to find out whether or not you still legally married over the documents never signed and it was just. . . A small ceremony of sorts?"
A small ceremony of source for which the National treasure was used for stop a small ceremony of sorts for which I had won a long wedding dress which had been my dream from the very beginning and that very ceremony had ended up in Marylin losing her life. The very ceremony that I had dream dof from the day I had been informed about it had really ended up in meeting disgraced and casted aside by my own.
"Please do." I told him. Now I no longer have to wanted to be tied down to such people. On the contrary I would love to be casted aside from such people who could not even believe my word.
