Chapter 101: The Prince and the woman - I

Every maid that was following her highness left awith her. They followed her to the end of the hallway after which they disappeared from my line of sight, leaving me standing five steps away from the window wondering what she had told me about.

The queen obviously knew what effects would her words leave on my heart and mind. She knew what game she was playing at because it was obvious that the first requirement for a Queen to be respected and loved by everyone including her own husband and also, she was to give birth to not one but two male children, if not more. So that they had heirs and spares.

Even though my mother was the third child in line to the throne of my grandfather, the Crown had somehow fallen on her head and she was named The Queen as she chose my father to be her husband and had been blessed with three daughters as children.

It was no surprise that there was not much of an investigation apart from those participating that were in favour of the true blood of the hearthorne family remaining pure.

Now that ; Augustus he was at the age where he could easily take onto the throne and the crown upon his head it was going to be difficult for all three of us to live.

I knew what cement when she talked about giving birth to doctors or even failing to do so better as the princess mistress had given birth to start it would only have people look down at me. Not only would she have his favour of the heart she would also gain it in the court as her son might be declared as the next heir.

I knew the risk that she spoke to me about but killing the child was something that I could never be capable of. I know that I had to strengthen my honour for becoming the queen and it was not going to be a clean journey but having the blood of a child on my hands was something I knew I was never going to be capable of at my core.

A giggle broke me out of my reverie. It was not just any giggle but it was accompanied by a male laughter full of happiness and true Joy. It irritated me to no limits.

Marilyn was standing at the side silently when I moved back to the window and glanced at them.

How is it that they were able to laugh and giggle amongst each other with so much joy and fun along with love when I was brimming with questions that were about my core and upbringing along with the future that I had with him and this Kingdom.

One thing that did not sit well with me was that he was standing with the person he could joyously laugh with, whereas I was compromising after leaving my love behind.

I felt the tears of hatred burn into my eyes as I stared at them. Why would he be allowed to be so happy and I was not? Why did I have to leave everything behind where as he was back at his home enjoying himself in the arms of his lover’s?

Which was probably why without thinking I turned around and started to March downstairs where he started laughing with her.

"Where are you heading to, your highness?" Marilyn asked me as she tried to keep up. "Please, do not do it!"

"To where he is," I spat out in bitterness. I was doing it.

It was not difficult to find out where the gardens were. The lowest floor of the palace of them had access to the gardens from all sides.

"Your highness," I called out with straight voice void of any emotions. The gentleness that I always carried in my tone out of humbleness of my position was no longer there. "If you would be so kind to spare few moments to talk with me."

My eyes were blankly staring the woman standing next to him who immediately casted hers down. The queen was not wrong when she said that the girl was from a small village because she was not at all arrogant and even though she was with the child of a prince, she did not try to hold my gaze.

"Ah," he peered at the woman, "give me for a few moments. If you want then you can go rest."

"Yes, Terr—your Highness." The girl blushed at the slip of tongue, clearly knowing better not to mention the prince’s his name in front of people. Like a little mouse, she scurried away without raising her eyes from the floor.

As soon as she disappeared from our line of sight the charmingness disappeared out of his eyes and a serious look dawned over his face.

"I suppose you know." He said as the first thing when he stood in front of me.

That made me scoff. "When were you not planning to tell me that yourself? How is it that a future king was afraid of telling his future wife that he has a mistress and a child with her along the way?"

His eyes narrowed slightly at my comment and it appear that he was trying to control of whatever he was going to do next. But I was not afraid of him as well.

"I think we both need privacy to talk about this. We are already in the eyes of everyone and we do not want to create a spectacle of ourselves."

"Believe it or not the slightly fattened belly she has has already made a spectacle of me." I stated the facts to him in a passive aggressive voice. It was difficult to control my aggression when he took matters so lightly.

He sighed and looked down for a moment. Prince Terrence then stood beside me, clearly an indication from him for me to follow him wherever he wanted to lead us.

Not wanting to create a spectacle of us together, I took his elbow and we walked together to wherever he wanted to lead us.

"Here you go," open the door a small guest bedroom and we both went in along with Marilyn and one of his men.

"What is your problem?" He immediately spoke in an angry voice as soon as the door was closed. "Are you not aware of how to talk to a prince?"

I stared at him incredulously. "Are you not aware of responsibilities a king has? Having illegitimate children before your marriage, what a public image it provides for you."

"Shut it!" He hissed as his eyes flashed at my words. He did not take disrespect lightly and I was doing nothing else but that. "Mind that tongue, Genevieve."

"How about you mind that thing that is in between your legs." I probbed him instead and he hissed before stepping back and pacing around.

"You—" he bit his tongue and turned away.

I did not miss the fisting that was going on with his hands. He had clenched his jaw so hard and it made me aware of the fact that he was controlling the anger. He was raining his anger in front of me but why? he could let it flow as it was his Kingdom and by right I had no one to stand with me for now.

Could be the queen? It was obvious that she was going to be on my side after a similar situation arrived on its own just like it did years ago for her.

I was in the same predicament as her and now she wanted to support me but it was just an assumption as a mother would never choose another over her own son.

He stepped towards me and I jerked back into reality and focused on the angry prince. "Why are you making it such a big deal? Every king and prince have along with tens of mistresses. I have two mistresses and one child on the way and I’m not even sure if it’s going to make it to the world and not. Stop concerning yourself with that." He ground out and if one had with great patience and concentration they could practically hear his teeth churning against each other.

It hurt him. I noticed that.

To say that I was taken aback with the word he just said, it would be an understatement. Kings and Princes, if anything, were always concerned about the public image and no child, especially if illegitimate was ever brought to light.

"Would you be alright after knowing the fact If I had done the same to you? Are you not aware that she is to go into hiding along with her child until she has birthed him. If you are alright with the way things are, do it properly like the rest."

"She’s not going anywhere!"He roared and j jumped back in fear. He let go. His hands gripped my shoulders and his fingers dug into my skin painfully. "She. Is. Not. Going. Anywhere." He repeated as he neared my face with a sneer on his lips. "Remember that." He warned as he threw me to the ground and walked out with his servant behind him slamming the door shut on his way out.
