The giants woke up from the Genjutsu, caught the scent of the ninjas, and charged toward them.

Darcy summoned beast after beast while chuckling.

The other ninja with the mechanical wings infused his chakra into a scroll, causing it to explode. Thirty-six golems of various shapes and sizes appeared.

“Azure Codex: 36 Slaughter,” he intoned, voice mechanical and devoid of feeling.

“You!” Kumori cried out in recognition. “You’re that traitor from the Fire Eye Village! The golem ninja Liuqing! You joined Rogue?!”

Liuqing remained expressionless as he directed eighteen of the golems to attack Kumori. The other eighteen golems split into three groups to attack Sadamasa, Hanwu, and Natsutsuyu.

At the same time, Darcy used his summoned beasts to distract the thirty-five giants so they wouldn’t interfere with the battle.

As Hanwu was about to attack the golems, the ground suddenly shook. Four massive walls rose up to protect them. This was Kumori’s Ninjutsu, Earth Style: Earthstream Wall.

The toughness of this wall was yet to be seen, but the Cerberus heads on the walls were admittedly quite lifelike. When Liuqing saw the walls appear, he commanded the golems to jump over them to attack.

Sadamasa had worked with Kumori for a long time and smoothly followed up with his household’s Hijutsu. “Taijutsu: Rampaging Steam.”

Heat radiated from his body, and he started punching at the golems from a considerable distance away. The golems were destroyed mid-leap as if directly punched by Sadamasa’s fists.

Natsutsuyu wasn’t slacking either.

“Ninjutsu: Kunai Clone!” she cried. Her attack picked off any straggling golems.

Although Hanwu saw her throw a single kunai, it appeared to multiply in midair. Their attacks made swift work of the golems. Hanwu was about to join in when Kumori stopped him.

“You have a more important mission. Follow me!” Kumori instructed, bringing Hanwu to the unconscious Maw Giant. “Hanwu, listen to me. You need to bring the Maw Giant back to the village.”

Hanwu was at a loss. Why do you change your mind like the wind? You told me not to kill it before, then to kill it, and now you want me to bring it back? How can I bring it back on my own when it’s so big? Cut it into pieces?

As if sensing his unspoken question, Kumori assured him. “Don’t worry, I have a way for you to transport it back.”

Kumori then made a series of hand seals before trying to place his palm onto Hanwu’s abdomen. Hanwu, however, was fast since his Speed parameter was already at 9, and avoided his palm easily.

“Don’t even try to ambush me!” Hanwu snapped, hackles raised.

“You dolt! I’m trying to give you the Four Guardian Seals so you can seal the Maw Giant inside of you!”

“Are you sure?”

“We’re allies. Why would I harm you?” Kumori asked exasperatedly.

The combined attacks from both the summoned beasts and the golems would have the Earthstream Wall crumbling soon. Sadamasa and Natsutsuyu couldn’t hold on for much longer either. Kumori needed to complete the seal as soon as possible. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

“Alright, you’re right,” Hanwu agreed, finally accepting Kumori’s Four Guardians Seal.

Once activated, the Maw Giant was sucked into his body. Hanwu sensed an isolated space within his body, with the Maw Giant held within. With that, Kumori fell to the ground in exhaustion. The Four Guardians Seal had taken up most of his chakra.

“You’re the fastest amongst us. Bring the Maw Giant back to the village, quick!” Kumori urged weakly.

“What about you guys?” asked Hanwu.

Kumori smiled faintly. “It’s our honor to die for our village.”

Hanwu didn’t understand. “Why are we dying? I can defeat them.”

Kumori shook his head. “That person controlling the golems is a traitor ninja from the Fire Eye Village named Liuqing. His control over golems is exceptional, and he still has a trump card he hasn’t used. It’s a clay golem that counters ninjas that specialize in Taijutsu, like you. You need to escape before they recognize how special you are. Run. Time is running out.”

As he said that, an Explosive Bear smashed through the Earthstream Wall.

Darcy jumped down from the eagle. “Run? Where can you run? My summoned beasts have surrounded you. There’s no escape.”

The ground shook beneath Hanwu’s feet once again. Huge ants the size of a fist broke through the earth around them. Their sheer numbers resembled a black tidal wave.

Hanwu activated Oversight to sense everything around him and was shocked to find that the swarm of ants stretched a ten-kilometer radius around them. It was like Darcy said, they were properly surrounded.

“My S-rated Summoning Jutsu, Black Ant Kingdom, probably caught you off guard. The only way to escape my black ants is to fly!”

“Oh? What makes you think I can’t fly?” Hanwu bluffed.

Darcy panicked. Liuqing hastily pulled out a scroll and summoned several flying golems to prevent Hanwu from escaping.

Meanwhile, Kumori glanced at Hanwu with a sliver of hope. “Hanwu, you can fly?”

“No,” Hanwu discreetly whispered back with a smile.

Kumori almost coughed up blood. Why are you talking so much if you can’t fly?

Having run out of chakra, Sadamasa and Natsutsuyu also gave up. They were destined to die.

“So what if your flying golems stop me from flying?” Hanwu asked loudly enough for Darcy and Liuqing to hear, a strange confidence in his tone. “I can run faster than I can fly anyway. Want to see?”
