SEX WITH MY BEST FRIEND'S FIANCÉ-Chapter 259
- KILLIAN -
I am waiting for her. I buck my wrist to face me and look at my watch. It’s been well past an hour since my brother left to meet with her yet they’re not here. Where the hell are they? Where the hell is he? I let out a frustrated exhale as impatience dawns harder on me.
I don’t want to be here, I never did. And if I wasn’t bound to someone else, I would’ve gone to meet her myself but I couldn’t and I have not laid my eyes on her for days and it is driving me insane. I anticipated seeing her today, even if it’s for a single moment, just to be with her. Even if it’s from a distance.
I look at my watch again. Checking the time. It’s only been a minute past from the last time I checked till now. I don’t know if I should be happy or sad. Happy that time is not all that fast or lose my mind with grief that they are not yet here yet and time is ridiculously slow. I brush my hand through my hair, pulling it back. My hair falls back in place and I sigh out my mouth.
This is ridiculous. I want to give my brother a call.
“Is everything alright, Killian? You seem quite out of it.” Karina, my uncle’s wife asks, walking to me and standing in front of me. Irritation immediately becomes a new feeling. This woman was alive when my parents died yet she did nothing to convince her husband to raise my brother and I. Yet, now, she’s right in front of me with a sickening smile I want to tear off her face. A smile like she’s a sweet individual who actually gives a shit. I am very sure if my brother and I ended up on the streets, these family members would still keep their distance. If not further away and we would never have heard of a party talk less of be in one.
If they had their way, we probably would be on the streets. Every one of them turned their backs on us when we needed them the most and a party invitation is not an apology.
I don’t answer, looking around like I didn’t notice her. My attention is mainly drawn to the entrance which I can get a decent sight of from this part of the room.
“Nephew-“ She calls, her free hand which doesn’t accompany a cocktail reaching out to touch me. I take a step back, clearing avoiding contact with her. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
“If you’d excuse me.” I utter, as respectful and curt as I could muster before heading away. Unlike these people, I will not pretend to be nice and accommodate their facades. If they need someone to pretend to, they should go to the cemetery. I’m sure a lot of dead bodies would appreciate the fake love.
I think I will have a drink. When one is surrounded by people like these, a clear head is not advisable. I make my way to the table buffet display of cocktails and numerous alcoholic drinks. A certain alcohol fountain has my attention and I grab a glass from it.
I drown it in one gulp. The burn I feel at the end of my throat is refreshing,
Make that two drinks, I say to myself, reconstructing my earlier thought.
I take another glass, keeping my attention divided between the door and my drink in my hand. It is not enough. Now, let’s make that three drinks. Just as my hand reaches out for the third, I notice my brother walk in. He’s accompanying someone by his side. My heart pounds against my chest and my mouth hangs down slightly as I gaze at the small frame of the woman beside him. I can’t seem to take my eyes off her. Hazel is- I run my eyes up and down her body, admiring her- beautiful.
She looks amazing. Alluring. Gorgeous. Any word that can be used to describe a being clearly ethereal and out of this world, that’s her. And I cannot believe she’s mine. I love that she’s putting on what I got her. I love that it suits her to perfection but I feel a screw come loose in my head for a moment while gawking. I hate that she’s not with me, by my side instead and in my arms. I hate that I have been distant from her without a word. I am beginning to hate a lot of things right now and regret, my old friend, makes its face known to me.
Liam is immediately approached by guests, mostly women, and from the looks of it, isn’t quite enjoying the abrupt welcome. I don’t expect class from the females associated with this family. If Hazel was indeed his date, their action is disrespectful. It still is because they don’t even know her.
I keep my eyes plastered on them, watching closely as I drown this third glass slowly waiting for either of them to notice me. One of them finally does.
Amidst the sea is women, Liam grabs Hazel to his side and makes his way to me. My jaw tightens as jealously brews within me. I don’t even have the right to be jealous. Liam is doing me a favour. A favour I wish he didn’t have to do.
“Killian.” Liam mouths the moment he stands before me, his hands now away from Hazel and spread to both sides to accompany my body. I lean in, hugging him back.
“Brother.” I respond. “It’s so good to see you.” That’s a lie, I’m more interested in seeing the one he was accompanied with.
Liam chuckles, tapping my back. “We both know that’s false but okay.” This makes me grin as I finally let go of his embrace. He knows me too well.
Liam’s eyes sway to the drinks and beverage display behind me. “I’ll have one. I need this.” He says.
“Trust me, you’ll need more than three.” I respond. Hazel hasn’t said a word to me at all. “Hello you.” I mutter first, referring to her. She shoots me an angry glare. She’s mad at me. I deserve that but I don’t want her to be. I grab her by the wrist. “Follow me. And no objections.” I say, leading her away.
