The Omega Is Pregnant-Chapter 91
Seo Da-rae looked around. The café inside the company was bustling with people wearing employee badges. Surrounded by people in suits, his jeans and T-shirt stood out even more.
“Why did you call me?”
Or maybe it just felt that way because the person sitting across from him was treating him like an outsider. When was the last time their hearts fluttered just by making eye contact? It couldn’t have been that long ago, yet he couldn’t quite remember.
Seo Da-rae brushed off Kang In-hyuk’s emotionless gaze and opened his mouth.
“You changed the door code.”
“I’ve been staying at my parents’ place lately... I didn’t get a chance to tell you.”
Kang In-hyuk rushed to explain, as if it had just occurred to him. Since moving back in with his parents, he hadn’t had the bandwidth to think about anything else. His mother must’ve been the one to change the passcode—but still, he was the one who’d told Seo Da-rae to move in with him, so he felt guilty.
“I didn’t come to ask why.”
Seo Da-rae shook his head.
“I’m moving out. I need to pack my stuff—when can you open the door for me?”
“Just call me when you go. I’ll tell you the passcode.”
“Alright.”
It wasn’t exactly a clear answer, but Seo Da-rae accepted it indifferently. He’d said everything he needed to. Clamping his mouth shut, he stared down at the untouched Americano.
The once-warm Americano had gone lukewarm. Just like his relationship with Kang In-hyuk. Back when they were together, things used to simmer gently—but now it was all tepid. They’d become the kind of people who accepted words like “I’m moving out” without any question or hesitation.
Gazing at the Americano, Seo Da-rae finally spoke.
“How did we end up like this?”
Hadn’t they once looked at each other with warmth in their eyes...?
“It’s either you, or me. Or both of us.”
At Kang In-hyuk’s dry voice, Seo Da-rae looked up. You or me... That answer made heat rush to his eyes. This wasn’t the kind of heat he wanted.
“Is that really what you think?”
Seo Da-rae asked, suppressing the urge to cry.
“Let’s stop. What’s the point in sorting that out now?”
“Kang In-hyuk.”
“Da-rae. I don’t even have time for this right now. You could’ve just left a text.”
“...Would you have replied if I did?”
At In-hyuk’s dismissive tone, Seo Da-rae asked, sounding deflated.
“That’s...”
In-hyuk started to answer, then suddenly stopped. Seo Da-rae figured it was because he felt guilty. That was, until he noticed In-hyuk wasn’t even looking away.
“If you’re done talking, I’m leaving.”
Kang In-hyuk abruptly stood up and brushed past Seo Da-rae. Even though it happened in a flash, Seo Da-rae didn’t turn to look.
Truthfully, he didn’t have the courage. He was afraid he might see someone he didn’t want to see.
“Yoon Tae-seo.”
Kang In-hyuk suddenly grabbed Tae-seo by the arm as he rushed past, trying to catch him before he could flee again. Tae-seo had taken one look at him and tried to bolt, so In-hyuk had nearly sprinted to stop him.
“How long were you standing there?”
Did he hear the conversation with Seo Da-rae?
Tae-seo hesitated a moment before replying.
“How long, you ask?”
Would you believe me if I told you when I started watching?
****
“This is... just so damn unfair.”
Seo Da-rae’s repressed voice escaped between clenched lips.

What was the reason I started falling for Kang Se-heon?
Would I have had the right to demand anything if I’d kept being stupidly fixated on Kang In-hyuk until the end?
“No. That’s not it.”
His feelings for In-hyuk were already gone. He couldn’t just sit there and get stepped on like an idiot. Seo Da-rae’s expression darkened, sweeping away the confusion he’d felt earlier.
Rising from his seat, he left the café. Even when he saw Kang In-hyuk and Yoon Tae-seo standing face to face, he ignored them. He didn’t want to break down, claiming it hurt.
So a person’s feelings really can change, huh.
The flutter he used to feel when looking at Kang In-hyuk had vanished. And the sudden urge to drag Yoon Tae-seo down—those feelings had both come in a flash.
With the coldest expression he could muster, Seo Da-rae turned away from them both.
“Aren’t you supposed to go after him?”
Watching Da-rae walk off, Tae-seo cautiously gestured in his direction. But Kang In-hyuk’s feet didn’t move. He had no intention of stepping away from Tae-seo.
“You look different from usual.”
“Ah... well.”
Tae-seo glanced down at his outfit. He’d worn Se-heon’s clothes—specifically, a muted-tone T-shirt. It was just a regular tee he wore around the house, so he hadn’t thought it would stand out if he wore it out... but In-hyuk had picked up on it instantly.
“Does it look weird?”
“It looks good. Actually...”
Maybe it was because part of his delicate collarbone peeked out beneath the soft neckline—or maybe the loose fit that didn’t quite sit right on his shoulders—but something about Tae-seo’s vibe had changed.
“Never mind that. So you saw everything, huh?”
Unable to put it into words, In-hyuk shook his ~Nоvеl𝕚ght~ head and changed the question.
“I only saw you two sitting together.”
Tae-seo had just happened to see them in the café. Hearing the conversation was a bonus.
“You should’ve just ignored us and walked off.”
“You’re the one who stopped me as I was ignoring you. In-hyuk.”
Tae-seo casually called him by name as he pointed out the contradiction.
“Then you should’ve made sure I didn’t see you. I wouldn’t have stopped you then.”
“You know...”
Tae-seo no longer bothered trying to pull away from Kang In-hyuk. He simply ignored the way In-hyuk was staring intently at his face.
“I know I clung to you pretty badly back then, so I get why you’re acting like this, but cut it out.”
Honestly, even if he’d rejected In-hyuk’s confession, he didn’t think it would be that easy to sever ties cleanly.
“But, seriously, Kang In-hyuk, you...”
Tae-seo kept swallowing back the frustration rising in his chest. He knew he was supposed to act like none of this had anything to do with him, but it wasn’t that easy.
“Don’t you think you’re being a bit much?”
“This is all because of you.”
In-hyuk’s expression, which had been stiff because of Seo Da-rae, loosened into a smile. He knew Tae-seo had seen him and Seo Da-rae together, and had tried to ignore it—but couldn’t.
Tae-seo had even scrunched up his face in annoyance, so it was clear he didn’t like the way In-hyuk had treated Seo Da-rae. He was probably about to say something like, “Was that really okay?” But In-hyuk didn’t care. If anything, he wanted to be tangled up with Tae-seo, even if it meant being hated.
“You shook me, and because of that, Seo Da-rae—”
“Why are you an intern?”
“......”
“......”
The conversation dried up the moment they realized they were thinking about completely different things.
“What are you talking about? Why would Seo Da-rae come into this?”
Tae-seo frowned and spoke as if he couldn’t believe it.
“Did you seriously think I’d interfere in whatever’s going on between you and Seo Da-rae?”
Kang In-hyuk stayed silent and gave a small nod.
“Why would I? Just because I was the cause of it, you thought I’d care?”
Tae-seo let out a sigh, sounding annoyed.
“I’ve got enough to deal with on my own.”
And that was the truth. He was already out of the whole In-hyuk and Seo Da-rae situation. He hadn’t messed with them since. In fact, he had enough to stress about with his own life. If he had anything left to say to Seo Da-rae, it would be because of Kang Se-heon—not Kang In-hyuk.
“Yoon Tae-seo.”
In-hyuk, who’d stayed mostly quiet, now looked at Tae-seo with a heavier gaze. It startled him for a second that it wasn’t about Seo Da-rae—but the rest wasn’t unwelcome.
“How did you know I was an intern?”
“I kept hearing your name all over the place. Word gets around.”
And that was the truth too. From the moment he entered the company, Kang In-hyuk’s name had been circulating nonstop.
“I didn’t know I was that popular.”
“Probably wouldn’t have been if you just did your job quietly.”
Tae-seo shook his head. He didn’t really need to react this way just because of whatever decision In-hyuk made. It had been too impulsive. Realizing that put him in a bad mood, and Tae-seo raised his arm to cover his nose, breathing in.
Even when he wasn’t doing anything, Se-heon’s pheromones faintly lingered. Inhaling them like this helped calm him down.
“I’m leaving.”
“Are you worried I might get in Se-heon hyung’s way?”
Just as Tae-seo turned to go, In-hyuk’s words stopped him dead in his tracks.
“Is that why you’re bothered?”
God, this guy really knew how to drive someone insane.
Tae-seo ruffled his own hair. Every time he moved, Se-heon’s pheromones would waft out and help keep him grounded—but to In-hyuk, it just looked like Tae-seo was getting flustered.
“In-hyuk.”
“When you were bullying Seo Da-rae, I think I finally understand why. So this is what it was like.”
The more they talked, the more Tae-seo’s face flushed. He’d assumed In-hyuk wouldn’t play along with his pace, and that was fine. But to push in this hard?
“I think you’re missing something right now...”
Tae-seo didn’t even know why he was bothering to explain this. But holding back now felt pointless.
“The person you’re planning to go up against... is Kang Se-heon.”
In-hyuk’s face twisted.
He almost imagined that he could smell Kang Se-heon’s pheromones drifting in from somewhere.

Han Mi-sun slid a piece of paper across the table.
“This is... an interview draft?”
As Han Young-soo, the editor-in-chief, skimmed through it, a growing smile spread across his face.
“This is targeting Executive VP Kang Se-heon of KH Group, right?”
“That’s right.”
“Since it’s centered around romance, every question has that fluttery, dreamy feel to it. ‘Ten reasons why Executive VP Kang Se-heon is great’... seriously?”
Even as Han Young-soo chuckled heartily, Han Mi-sun couldn’t bring herself to laugh along. She vaguely remembered Tae-seo rattling off around ten reasons why Se-heon was great that day—but maybe she’d imagined it.
“So why are you showing me this? Don’t tell me, Aunt...”
“You’re going to publish one too. An article.”
This was why Han Mi-sun had come to see her nephew.
“Wait, using this interview? Interview with who?”
As Han Young-soo looked completely baffled, Han Mi-sun gave him a slow, deliberate smile.
“So? Are you in?”
