The Omega Is Pregnant-Chapter 31
Yoon Tae-seo averted his gaze as he caught the faint smile on Kang Se-heon's lips. Since Se-heon had said it wasn’t a bad idea, what was there to argue about? Well, to be honest, the fact that he hadn’t been outright rejected didn’t feel bad either.
No, saying ‘not bad’ is way too easygoing.
Realizing his own complacency a beat too late, Tae-seo lightly tapped his forehead to snap himself back to reality. He couldn’t just drift along like this. Marriage wasn’t something simple, and having a child was an even more difficult and complicated matter.
So why couldn’t he stop the atmosphere from turning so... soft?
At that moment, Kang Se-heon spoke, as if he had sensed Tae-seo’s tangled emotions without even looking at him.
“I’ll give you all the time you need to think.”
“I’ve already been thinking about it a lot.”
All he had done today was send Se-heon a simple What are you doing? text, and somehow, they ended up meeting. But Tae-seo had been mulling over this endlessly—trying to take it lightly, trying to imagine a future where he had the baby.
“The more I think about it, the harder it gets.”
Resting his chin on his hand, Tae-seo let out a shallow sigh.
“Did you tell your parents?”
“I haven’t really seen them since the last time.”
That day when Se-heon had taken him home, he had run into his parents. It had been surprising to see them at home since they were always busy, but sure enough, from the next day onward, he had only been able to catch brief glimpses of them. With barely enough time to exchange greetings, bringing up something as serious as this had felt impossible.
“If you told them you had something important to say, wouldn’t they make time for you?”
“Of course they would. That’s exactly why I haven’t said anything yet.”
If he told them outright, they would drop everything and rush over. If it was that urgent, then Tae-seo figured he could just go find them himself.
“I don’t plan on keeping it a secret, but I think I should be more certain about it first.”
He didn’t want to blurt out something like I’m pregnant. What do I do? without having his own resolve first. Se-heon listened in silence, contemplating Tae-seo’s words.
As neither of them spoke, they naturally found themselves watching students pass by in front of them. Though both were lost in their own thoughts, outwardly, they simply looked like two people sitting side by side on a bench.
So much so that even Park Han-su, who walked past them at that moment, didn’t seem to notice them. Tae-seo tapped his cheek lightly with his fingers. At the very least, meeting Se-heon today had been worthwhile. He had finally heard the reason why someone who didn’t like him would still be willing to marry him.
“I’ll give you all the time you need to think. If you have anything you want to ask me in the meantime, just reach out.”
Just like today.
Though Se-heon’s last words passed by without sound, they rang clearly in Tae-seo’s ears.
“Thank you for waiting.”
Tae-seo dipped his head slightly as he spoke. He was grateful that Se-heon prioritized his choice. But more than that, considering Se-heon was directly involved in this, it wouldn’t have been strange for him to feel anxious. Yet, he had said he would wait. That alone meant a lot. It felt like a kind of composure that was uniquely his.
Tae-seo found himself once again admiring Kang Se-heon. Feeling a bit self-conscious, he jokingly asked,
“Not that it’ll happen, but... what if I take a really long time to decide?”
“Take as long as you want.”
“And what if time keeps dragging on, and before we know it, we have to get married?”
“I already answered that earlier.”
Se-heon suddenly reached out his hand. His already large hand coming toward him so abruptly made Tae-seo instinctively shut his eyes. A moment later, Se-heon’s palm gently covered his head, cradling it lightly.
“I said I’d give you enough time to think. I didn’t say you should keep going in circles with pointless thoughts.”
“...You don’t even know what I’m thinking.”
“Don’t worry. It’s written all over your face.”
“...Maybe I should just stop talking altogether.”
Tae-seo shook his head, brushing off Se-heon’s hand. He didn’t even know why he bothered teasing Se-heon—it never really worked on him anyway.
“How many classes do you have tomorrow?”
“Just one. A morning lecture before lunch.”
“Then send me a message when you’re done. I’ll come pick you up.”
Se-heon said it so matter-of-factly before standing up. Tae-seo watched his retreating figure, filled with unspoken words.
You said you’d give me plenty of time to think.
****
“Tae-seo.”
The sudden weight on his shoulder made Tae-seo flinch and turn around. A man wearing a baseball cap lifted the brim slightly, making eye contact with him. Park Han-su was grinning down at him.
“What?”
“Class ended ages ago, but you still hadn’t come out, so I came to check on you.”
Tae-seo shrugged off Han-su’s hand. But instead of leaving, Han-su casually plopped down next to him, his gaze still fixed on him.
Ignoring him, Tae-seo glanced around the lecture hall. The class had ended, and only a few scattered students remained. This was one of the few classes where he didn’t have to see Kang In-hyuk or Han-su, so he usually found it easy to focus. But today, for the first time, he had barely absorbed any of the lecture.
Letting out a small sigh, Tae-seo grabbed his bag.
“What were you thinking about so hard?”
“You made me forget all of it.”
He was definitely lost in thought about something, but the moment Han-su put his hand on his shoulder, it had all vanished. What was it? Something about his pregnancy, maybe?
“By the way, about yesterday—”
“Yesterday?”
“You know, that guy you were sitting with.”
Han-su’s words made Tae-seo pause, trying to recall who he was referring to. When nothing immediately came to mind, he stayed silent, prompting Han-su to just give him the answer himself.
“Kang Se-heon.”
“...Huh? How do you know Se-heon-hyung?”
“Who doesn’t know that face?”
Han-su pulled out his phone and tapped on the screen a few times. Then, he held it out toward Tae-seo so he could see clearly.
Se-heon’s face appeared on the screen.
“Even if you’re not interested in that stuff, there’s no way you wouldn’t recognize a young, rich businessman like him. Anyway, I saw you with him yesterday.”
“You saw?”
“Yeah. I was wondering why you didn’t react even though I was waving like crazy.”
Park Han-su had seen Tae-seo yesterday, but instead of approaching him, he had simply waved from a distance. And now, the reason was clear—he had recognized Kang Se-heon standing next to him and instinctively decided to stop in his tracks.
He had walked past them, not wanting to intrude, and as expected, Tae-seo hadn’t noticed him at all.
“Anyway, you seem close with him.”
“Something like that.”
Tae-seo answered vaguely as he packed his books and stationery into his bag. Han-su, watching him, had an odd look in his eyes. Unable to ignore it any longer, Tae-seo slung his bag over his shoulder and, in the same motion, pressed down on Han-su’s cap, pushing it deeper onto his head.
“You’ve been unusually interested in me lately.”
“Wouldn’t you be interested in you if you were me?”
“I told you to mind your own business.”
Tae-seo tapped Han-su’s cap with his index finger, as if to drive the point home. He wished Han-su would back off, but somehow, he always found a way to pry. And now, apparently, he had spotted them yesterday. But of course, Han-su wasn’t the type to give up easily. He immediately stood up and followed after him.
“But at least I’m better than others, you know?”
“What do you mean?”
“At least I ask you directly instead of making weird assumptions.”
“...Assumptions?”
Tae-seo, who had just stepped out of the lecture hall, stopped in his tracks at the odd word. Sensing an opportunity, Han-su stepped in front of him, facing him head-on.
“A lot of people saw you with Kang Se-heon yesterday.”
“So?”
It wasn’t like they had been meeting in secret. If anything, this was probably because of Se-heon’s reputation. But what was so strange about being seen together?
“They’re wondering what kind of relationship you two have.”
“Do they not consider that I come from a family that knows Se-heon hyung?”
“Well, that too...”
“Then what? What’s so strange about it?”
Tae-seo brushed past Han-su and continued walking.
“Why is it such a big deal when a Beta and an Alpha sit together?”
As far as he knew, Kang Se-heon was the only one who was aware that he was an Omega. In this world, unless someone was an Omega and Alpha pair, same-sex interactions between Betas and Alphas weren’t usually something people gossiped about. Same-sex marriages weren’t exactly frowned upon, but they weren’t common enough to stir rumors either.
“I was thinking the same thing.”

Han-su rubbed his chin thoughtfully, glancing at Tae-seo as they walked side by side.
The first time he had met Tae-seo, Han Mirae had practically begged for a blind date with him, saying he was incredibly good-looking. And sure enough, Tae-seo had the image of a well-groomed Beta man. But for some reason, whether he was with Kang In-hyuk or Kang Se-heon, he just... fit. If someone asked him to explain why, he couldn’t quite put it into words, but that was the feeling he got.
Even when rumors spread about Tae-seo having feelings for Kang In-hyuk, most people just believed them without questioning it.
“Anyway, because of yesterday, rumors have started spreading.”
“So, if people keep seeing me with Se-heon hyung, the rumors will get worse?”
Tae-seo calmly considered how much the rumors would escalate. The talk would probably be along the lines of Is there something between Kang Se-heon and Yoon Tae-seo?
“Pretty much.”
Han-su nodded, still looking slightly puzzled.
“What’s the big deal about that?”
Tae-seo had already dealt with relentless rumors surrounding him and Kang In-hyuk. Even though he no longer approached In-hyuk, students still whispered about them behind his back whenever they crossed paths. He had long since learned to ignore it, and one more rumor wouldn’t change anything.
“They can talk all they want.”
Tae-seo waved dismissively, signaling that he truly didn’t care.
“Still, doesn’t it bother you that your name is being talked about behind your back—wait, what?”
Han-su, mid-sentence, widened his eyes in shock.
Tae-seo, without hesitation, had walked ahead and casually opened the passenger-side door of a parked car.
Inside, Kang Se-heon’s face was clearly visible.
Han-su could only point at him in stunned silence.
“I’m leaving.”
Without another word, Tae-seo tossed a casual farewell over his shoulder and shut the car door behind him.
