He walked away, leaving Cassandra standing there with a look on her face that made it seem like she was going through many different problems at once.
For the next hour, Rex walked around the room and talked to different demons and beings for short periods of time.
The maids who brought him here, especially Nyx, who kept finding reasons to be near him and hinting that she wanted another "demonstration."
Different demons expressed interest in his fighting style. Some demons in charge who wanted to know how he got information.

The numbers were going up all over the place slowly but surely because of how long he had been in his new state. This worked better than his usual Rex Rexilion identity ever could.
The Lustful Villain form was made to speed up desire bonds, and it was doing just that.

Rex knew that time was passing, though, even though this worked. He had been in the underlayer for a few hours, and soon the surface world would wake up.
If Rex Rexilion wasn’t in his inn room when morning came, people would notice and ask questions that he didn’t want to answer.
He had to go back to Aethelgard soon, so he had to stop what he was doing tonight and come up with a good reason for leaving.
Rex went back to where Lilith was waiting. The succubus maid grabbed his arm right away, clearly happy that he was back.
"Master~!" Lilith said with her tail wiggling.
"I have everything I need for now," Rex said quietly. "Also... I need to come back to the surface before people notice I’m gone and ask me awkward questions."
Lilith’s face dropped right away, and she held on to his arm tighter. "No! You can’t just LEAVE!"
"You just got here, and I didn’t get to spend much time with you, and what if something happens and you don’t come back and I never see you again?"
Her voice was getting louder and louder, and the fact that she was completely devoted to her maxed-out desire level was turning into an obsession. It felt almost like Lily when her desire level maxed out.

"Then come with me," Rex said, cutting in. "Can you look like a human when you go back to Aethelgard?"
"I mean, like... can you blend in on the outside so that your presence is also not identified as a demon or succubus?"
Lilith blinked because she wasn’t expecting the question. "Yes, all succubi can look like humans, and it’s one of our basic powers."
"But Lord Mordecai needs—"
"Lord Mordecai can spare one maid for a few days." Rex said, "Especially if that maid is helping me and keeping me in touch with the Underlayer."
"It’s actually a smart move when you think about it... I stay involved in surface society, gathering information, and you stay with me, keeping the link to Mordecai open."
"Everyone wins, right?"
He could see Lilith’s mind working. She was torn between her desire to be close to him and her loyalty to Mordecai.
The desire quickly prevailed, gradually eroding her loyalty to Mordecai.
"I see!" she said. "Yes, that makes perfect sense!"
"We should do that! I’ll ask Lord Mordecai for permission right now!"
She almost dragged Rex across the throne room to where Mordecai was holding court, with demons all around him trying to get his attention. Lilith pushed her way through the crowd with a single-minded purpose.
"Lord!" she screamed. "To keep his cover, the Lustful Villain needs to go back to the surface!"
"I ask for permission to go with him as your court’s liaison!"
Mordecai looked back and forth between Lilith and Rex, his face showing that he was thinking about the request. "You want to go up there with him?"
"It makes sense from a tactical point of view," Rex said smoothly. "I’ll be more effective if I can talk directly to one of your allies that can blend in with the humans."
"Lilith can carry sensitive information, help me out if I need it, and make sure I’m not working completely alone." Rex raised his arms. "It’s smart operational planning, don’t you think?"
Mordecai thought for a moment and then shrugged. "Well, okay."
"Lilith, you’re in charge of helping the Lustful Villain on the surface." Mordecai pointed at her. "Keep me updated on his actions and our joint operations."
"Don’t let those filthy heroes kill you."
"Thank you, my lord!" Lilith was so happy she was shaking. "I promise to be loyal to him and you!"
She took Rex’s hand and started to pull him toward a part of the castle that was less busy. "Come on, Master~!"
"I can teleport us right to where you need to go on the surface!"
"Where’s your base?!"
"Do you have a secret room, a lair, or a hideout?!"
"The Silver Rest Inn." Rex said, "Specifically, my room."
"Can you do that?"
"Of course!" Lilith started to weave the complicated teleportation spell that would connect the Underlayer to the surface over a distance of three hundred miles. "Just hold on to me and don’t let go while we move!"
As the spell took effect, Rex held her hand tightly. Demonic magic cut through dimensional barriers, making the world shrink and twist and space fold in on itself.
Even with his improved sense of reality, the feeling was disorienting because it kept changing as they crossed the impossible distance.
Then they were in Rex’s room at the Silver Rest with just a blink, where he had left it hours before. It was just as comfortable as it had been.
The sunlight hadn’t quite started to come through the window yet, so he had picked the perfect time. Maybe one more hour until dawn.
Lilith appeared fully next to him, and as the spell finished, her shape changed. Her demonic features became less pronounced, her skin tone changed from pale blue to a more human peach, and her eyes changed from bright red to a more normal brown.
Her tail and any other obvious demonic traits vanished completely, making her look like a perfectly normal, if stunning, woman.
"There," she said, pointing to herself. "Full human disguise~!"
"No one will know I’m a succubus unless I want them to."
She looked around the room with obvious interest, taking in the bed, the desk, and the simple furniture. "So this is where you’ve been living?"
"It’s nice, cozy, and personal~!"
She turned to face Rex, her gaze filled with a devoted yet clearly hungry look. She walked toward the bed with purpose, her movements smooth and inviting.
When she lay down on the mattress, she did so in a way that made every curve of her body stand out.
"Master," she said, and the way she said it made it sound like a title and a prayer at the same time. "I know you’re tired from everything that happened tonight, but I need to do something before you go to sleep."
She moved around, lying back on the bed and looking up at him with eyes that showed nothing but desire. "Let’s do it... Master..."
"I want to show you how thankful I am for saving me, and I want to show you how devoted I am to you."
"I... want to be yours in every way a succubus can be."
Her hand reached out to him, inviting him, promising him, and giving him everything.
