The Lust Lord Librarian-Chapter 64: The Scheming Librarian
"When you said that I could own the Velvet Curtain Theatre, what did you mean..."
As Adal sat across the table, trying not to look down at the woman’s giant breasts, he watched Penelope and Juliette glance at him from the corners of their eyes.
They knew to mind their business, and not get involved in Adal’s affairs, they could not help but be curious.
Adal leaned back on his chair and crossed his arms.
"It’s simpler than you think, Colette. You have not yet given your husband a child, and therefore, once he dies, his properties go to you."
His quietly spoken words made Colette jump.
"Dies?!"
"Oh Mrs Banker, let’s not be silly. You and I both know that if there is any man who deserves death, it is him. Especially after everything he has done." 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
The words were calculated.
In truth, Adal did not know what the man had done. However, Colette was likely to know. His words suggested that he knew of the Banker family secrets, and therefore, she might expose them to him without even knowing.
Colette’s green eyes glanced down at the table. "So, you know then?" She said sadly.
No, I do not.
Adal nodded his head.
"Yes, I do."
Silence hung between them for a few moments. Then, the wife started spreading her husband’s secrets.
"It started with extorting money from companies such as the Bakersfield Tennis Club, and the Velvet Curtain Theatre, establishments that are based around entertainment and sports. This already sat wrong in my heart, but after he.... After he started stealing from charity, I could not handle it anymore. My husband is a cruel man, just like all of the others in the Banker family."
There it was.
Adal had discovered the secret of the man named Richard, and most likely, the deal that had been created between the Banker’s family, and the Royal family.
The Torn Kingdom were in an age where they had multiple charities used to help fund the villages around the kingdom that were less fortunate. Adal had long since noticed that most of those never seemed to make progress, despite the vast amount of funds being donated by the public.
It seemed the reason for this was that certain families were actually pocketing all of the money for themselves.
If this is not an offence punishable by death, then I do not know what is.
Cupid, if I am wrong, then may you fuck me unconscious.
"And yet," Colette continued. "I cannot kill my husband. I have thought about it before; poisoning his meals before they reach his table. But I will be suspected, Mr Librarian! A crime like that would place me in prison, or even worse, I would be executed or sold as a slave!"
Adal waved a hand dismissively. He never had the intention of using poison on such a man. There were too many risks of it, and it took away his chance to question the man himself.
"No, do not poison him. I would not have him die in your house, as it would leave you as a suspect. Instead, I would have you convince him that you have finally accepted his line of work, and have found a new charity to steal from. Bring him to this address, and I will handle the rest."
Adal withdrew a piece of paper and wrote down the address of Lady Cho’s Magical Store.
The woman eyed it, unfamiliar with the location, but she did not hesitate to put the piece of paper in her pocket.
She took in a deep breath and then let it out, as nerves ran through her.
"When would you want me to do it?" She asked shakily.
"Tonight, at ten o’clock, once the store closes."
The woman nodded her head, but there still seemed to be a look of doubt in her eyes.
She looked Adal up and down. The man was tall, and incredibly handsome, but he was nowhere near as muscular and large as her husband. She knew her husband’s strength first-hand, as she had received his blows. Worst of all though...
"My husband is an awakened, Mr Librarian. I do not know what you intend to do, but if you somehow fail, he won’t hesitate to kill you. He is an evil man."
Adal flashed the woman a smile as he rose to his feet, making sure not to look suspicious.
"So am I." He said, before saying his goodbyes to the woman, and leaving her stunned alone at the table.
As he left her to return to his desk, Colette was left brooding in her thoughts.
That man is an awakened... It can’t be... He is not even a noble.
Afterwards, she left the store with many questions running through her mind.
Adal watched her round behind sway with each step as he marched through the door.
He wondered whether she would follow through with what he had asked of her.
~~~
A few hours later, after the store had closed, and Penelope had returned home after work, Adal rode in a chariot heading towards Lady Cho’s store.
He had told Juliette to wait for him in the library until he had returned, mentioning that he had business to attend to swiftly.
Juliette hesitated and the worry was evident on her face. He could tell that he was stressing the woman out, so he promised himself that today would be the day that he pleasured the woman until she couldn’t take it anymore.
But first, he had to deal with his little problem.
...
Adal arrived on the street to find two figures peaking through the window of the store. It had closed an hour ago, but the lights were still on. The granny was most likely downstairs in the basement, handling her magical wares.
As he emerged from the carriage, the figures turned towards him.
Colette was dressed in an all-black dress with long sleeves, black gloves, and dark makeup on her face, whilst her husband, Richard, stood large in a black suit that bulged from his muscles.
"Is everything alright?" Adal asked, smiling, and was dressed in his white long-sleeved shirt, and black pants. "The store is closed, you know."
The couple looked at each other, but it was Richard who nodded his head and took his woman’s hand.
"Yeah, I know. We were just leaving."
He tried to walk off, taking his wife with him, but suddenly, a hand landed on his shoulder.
Adal had somehow closed the gap between them in a second, and his grip was strong on the man’s broad shoulder.
"No. I don’t think you are."
