Chapter 747: 747, Gone in the Middle of the Night (2)

For the motorcycle, Ye Jiuliang also went all out, "I just love it when you’re stewing in jealousy."

With that said, she smacked a kiss on his cheek again.

"When will the motorcycle arrive?"

Li Mochan curved his lips with satisfaction, "In about three to four days, it will be delivered directly to Mo Garden."

"Li Mochan, I knew you’re the best, I love you the most." Ye Jiuliang squinted her eyes with a smile, not stingy with her praise at all.

Li Mochan’s gaze flickered slightly, his tone shifting, "Between me and the kid, who is your favorite?"

"Of course, it’s you," Ye Jiuliang replied without hesitation.

He suppressed a smile at the corner of his lips, "The truth?"

"Of course, no one can compare to your place in my heart." Ye Jiuliang’s lips curved as she locked eyes with his deep black pupils.

Li Mochan’s eyes darkened progressively, feeling as if a strong liquor was about to spill over from his chest, he leaned in, but the person in his arms suddenly dodged away.

"I’m going to take a shower, I’ll leave you be."

Escaping from his embrace, Ye Jiuliang lifted her head, her roguish smile carrying a hint of rascality.

Li Mochan frowned slightly and stood up to follow her.

He blocked the door with one hand and squeezed in through the crack.

"What are you doing coming in?" Ye Jiuliang looked at the man who pursued her into the room, a vein throbbing on her forehead.

"Helping out."

"I don’t need your help, get out of here."

"Keep it down, don’t scare the kid."

...

In the middle of the night, the urgent knocking sounded throughout the corridor.

Ye Jiuliang was sleeping soundly, but the noise woke her up.

Groggily, she looked towards the person beside her, "What happened?"

"Thump thump thump—"

The knocking continued non-stop, accompanied by Mo Chen’s voice.

"Sister Ajiu, open the door."

Li Mochan got up, grabbed his robe, slipped it on deftly, and then went to open the door.

Ye Jiuliang rubbed her eyes, grabbed a jacket to wear, and slowly followed behind him.

With the light turned on and the door opened,

"What happened?" Li Mochan asked coldly as he looked at the panicked Mo Chen.

"I just passed by Dad’s room and found that he’s missing," Mo Chen said urgently.

"I looked everywhere and couldn’t find a trace of him." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Ye Jiuliang came out from inside just in time to hear his words, and her drowsiness vanished in an instant.

Her dad was missing in the middle of the night?

Li Mochan furrowed his brows, "Check the garage and see if any car is missing."

Mo Chen slightly regained his composure and hurried downstairs.

Ye Jiuliang turned and walked back into the room, straight to the wardrobe.

She grabbed a set of clothes and as she was changing, she said, "Mo, call my dad first."

As soon as she finished speaking, Li Mochan had already picked up the phone to make the call.

"How is it?" Ye Jiuliang finished changing and asked while putting on her jacket.

Li Mochan hung up, "No one answered."

Ye Jiuliang frowned slightly and walked out, "I’ll go check his room first."

Li Mochan didn’t follow her out, he put down the phone, and then went to change.

Arriving at Ye Yuan’s room, Ye Jiuliang saw the mobile phone left on the bedside table; her heart sank.

He didn’t take his mobile phone, where could he have gone?

After searching the room without finding any message from Ye Yuan, Ye Jiuliang turned and walked out.

She rushed downstairs, and in the living room, Li Mochan was already dressed and waiting for her.

"Dad didn’t take his mobile phone," she said with a grave expression.

"A car from the garage was taken, and I’ve already had Wei Xi look into it; we should hear something soon," Li Mochan said as he reached out to embrace her, his voice calm and comforting.

Ye Jiuliang was still uneasy, "Mochan, let’s go out and look for him."

Waiting at home, she could not sit still.

Li Mochan hummed in agreement, "Let’s go."

"I want to go too," Mo Chen said urgently.

People sent by Old Master Mo could show up at any time, and Ye Jiuliang wasn’t comfortable leaving him alone, so it was better to take him with them.

She said, "Let’s go."

Mo Chen followed them with quick, small steps, afraid of being left behind.

The deep night was like dense ink, cool as water.

The wide road was quiet, none of the day’s noise to be seen.

The black luxury car maintained a steady speed as it weaved through the streets, with Ye Jiuliang and Mo Chen leaning against the car windows, both busy looking for Ye Yuan’s figure.

The slightly cold breeze scraped against their cheeks, feeling somewhat painful.

Ye Jiuliang’s brows were locked tight, her face showing a rare anxiety.

Suddenly, a ringtone of a cell phone sounded.

Li Mochan glanced down – it was a call from Wei Xi.

After sliding to answer, Wei Xi’s voice came through speakerphone, "Master, I’ve found him, I’m sending over the address now."

Almost simultaneously, Ye Jiuliang and Mo Chen turned their heads, their gazes landing on Li Mochan’s cell phone.

Li Mochan hummed flatly, hung up the phone, and Wei Xi sent over the address.

Ye Jiuliang breathed a sigh of relief; finding the person was good news.

Following the address they looked for the location as Li Mochan slowed down the car.

Ye Jiuliang looked out the window, and across the street, at the entrance of the flower shop, stood a figure.

Black trousers, a white shirt, just from that silhouette, Ye Jiuliang recognized at a glance that it was Ye Yuan.

"Mochan, stop the car."

Li Mochan had also seen Ye Yuan and pulled over to the side of the road.

Pushing the door open, Ye Jiuliang hurried out of the car, crossing the empty road, heading towards the flower shop on the other side.

"Sir, you’ve been standing here looking for half an hour now – are you going to buy flowers or not? If not, we’re closing," said the woman who was the flower shop owner, a woman in her forties.

She looked at the man who had been standing in front of her shop, her face full of helplessness.

If not for the lack of alcohol on his breath, she would have thought him a drunkard.

Ye Yuan remained silent, his gaze fixed deeply on the fresh flowers on the shelf.

The woman shook her head in resignation and spoke in a good-natured voice, "Sir, we really are closing now, why don’t you come back tomorrow?"

Ye Jiuliang pushed open the glass door and entered, upon hearing the sound, the woman looked up.

When she saw Ye Jiuliang’s features, a look of amazement appeared in the woman’s eyes.

Before she could express her astonishment, someone else came in.

All those arriving were of outstanding appearance, and the woman was momentarily taken aback.

"Dad," Ye Jiuliang walked up to Ye Yuan, placed her hand on his arm, and called out softly.

"How did you end up here?"

Ye Yuan’s eyes flickered, his voice husky, "She liked champagne roses. She said she wanted me to help her fill the garden with champagne roses."

During their honeymoon, it was the only time he had bought her a bouquet of champagne roses. Since then, whenever he bought flowers, none were ever given away; they withered and faded away slowly in his office.

Ye Jiuliang was momentarily startled, following his gaze, her eyes landing on the vibrant roses in the vase.

Champagne roses, her mother’s favorite flowers.

She pursed her lips, then asked with a gentle voice, "Dad, shall we buy all these and take them home?"

Ye Yuan shook his head, turned to look at Ye Jiuliang, "Let’s go back."

"Aren’t you buying the flowers?" Ye Jiuliang was bewildered.

Wasn’t he out late at night exactly to buy flowers?

Why not buy them now?

Ye Yuan offered no explanation, a glint of longing flashing in his eyes.

The flowers she liked should be planted in the garden of their family of three. Even the garden she hadn’t managed to arrange, he would finish with his own hands.
