Chapter 703: 703. How did Mo Yu get pregnant? (3)

The sound of footsteps gradually faded away, and the corridor fell silent once again.

A figure emerged from the balcony, and Mo Chen’s face betrayed his shock as he looked at the empty staircase.

Brother Yisheng was actually taken by Mo Su, no wonder my brother-in-law mentioned last night at the hotel that Brother Yisheng was missing.

But where could that warehouse in the suburbs be?

Last time, Brother Yisheng annoyed Mo Su because of me. If Mo Su held a grudge, what would she do to him?

Mo Chen felt a sinking feeling in his gut, no, he had to follow and see for himself, and only then could he inform Sister Ajiu after finding Brother Yisheng.

Determination flashed through his eyes as he quickly returned to his own room.

Changing his clothes, Mo Chen took only his phone with him as he left the room, but moments later, he ran back in.

He pulled open the drawer of his desk, grabbed a small, exquisite dagger, and tucked it into the inner pocket of his jacket, then dashed out of the room.

Fortunately, no one was in the living room. He made his way to the courtyard where Alei was waiting for him in the car.

"Young master."

"Alei, where’s Mo Su?" Mo Chen asked in a low voice as he got into the car.

"The young lady just left in her car." Alei started the car and left as soon as he saw Mo Chen had fastened his seatbelt.

"Follow her closely," Mo Chen said in a stern voice.

Alei nodded but then asked, puzzled, "Young master, why are you following the young lady? If she discovers us, I’m afraid that..."

Mo Chen cut him off, his hand unconsciously resting on the pocket of his jacket, "She took away Brother Yisheng. I’m afraid she will hurt him. I have to go and see."

The young lady took away Jiang Yisheng? Alei was shocked.

"Alei, if something happens later, you must protect Brother Yisheng first," Mo Chen instructed with a serious tone.

Mo Su was too ruthless. He couldn’t be sure what she might do in her fury.

But at least, compared to Brother Yisheng, Mo Su might hesitate a bit due to their mother’s sake before laying a deadly hand on him.

Alei remained silent, not agreeing with Mo Chen.

"Alei, I’m serious. Brother Yisheng has been very good to me. If anything happens to him, I’ll be troubled by guilt for the rest of my life," Mo Chen continued.

If it hadn’t been for him, Brother Yisheng wouldn’t have clashed with Mo Su and wouldn’t have ended up in this situation.

Seeing Alei being watched intently by him, he reluctantly nodded, "...I understand."

Mo Chen looked out the car window, his expression unusually solemn.

For some reason, he had a premonition that this might turn into a major battle.

Mo Chen took out his phone, the decision he had hesitated over for the entire night finally solidifying.

He dialed Mo Yuan’s number, exhaled softly, and quietly waited for the person on the other end of the line to answer.

"Beep beep..."

"Mo Chen."

The voice of Mo Yuan came through, making Mo Chen feel a sour sensation in his chest.

"Dad, don’t ask anything; just listen to me," he said, steadying his emotions and speaking calmly.

Sensing something unusual in his voice, Mo Yuan furrowed his brows, puzzled.

Could something have happened again?

"Dad, I’m sorry, there’s something that I have kept from you for a long time. The truth is that Sister Ajiu is your daughter. She is your own flesh and blood," Mo Chen said, finally feeling as if a great weight had been lifted from his heart.

Beside him, Alei was struck as if by lightning, his hand trembling and nearly losing grip on the steering wheel.

On the other end of the call, Mo Yuan stood still, his thoughts unable to turn, as if frozen.

Ye Jiuliang is his biological daughter?

The person on the other end was silent, Mo Chen guessed he was too shocked, perhaps unable to recover for a moment.

"Dad, Sister Ajiu said that you had an accident on a mission years ago. Your real name is Ye Yuan, not Mo Yuan," he said.

"There is another thing, Mo Su is not your daughter, but I’m also not clear about how that came to be."

Ye Yuan?

Mo Yuan clenched the phone in his hand tighter, his expression shifting unpredictably.

What exactly is going on?

Ye Jiuliang is his daughter, but Mo Su is not his daughter?

He barely recovered his voice, "Mo Chen, who told you all this?"

"Dad, if you want to know exactly what’s going on, you should go ask Sister Ajiu."

After speaking, Mo Chen hung up the phone without giving Mo Yuan a chance to respond.

Mo Yuan gripped his phone tightly, stood up abruptly, and without a moment’s thought, he strode out the door.

After more than a decade of blank memories, he was finally about to discover his true identity; he was more eager than anyone else.

Especially regarding the matter of that little girl being his daughter, he just wanted to know if it was true.

After inquiring in the hotel lobby for the room number where Ye Jiuliang was staying, Mo Yuan headed straight there without pausing.

Exiting the elevator, he immediately saw Li Mochan standing at the door of the room.

"Mr. Li," Mo Yuan hurried over, his collar slightly disheveled.

Li Mochan saw Mo Yuan rushing in a rare display of comportment, his eyes flickered.

"Mr. Mo, what’s the matter?"

Mo Yuan’s gaze involuntarily drifted into the room, asking in an even tone, "Is Miss Ye here?"

Before he finished speaking, Ye Jiuliang came out of the room.

Their gazes met unexpectedly, and Ye Jiuliang’s steps halted.

She looked at Mo Yuan with heavy eyes, her glance flickering with complex emotions.

"Come in first," Li Mochan said, opening the door and speaking in a cool tone.

Mo Yuan followed him into the room, his gaze drifting toward Ye Jiuliang ambiguously.

"Please sit," Li Mochan said.

Mo Yuan waved his hand, the gesture somewhat comical.

He looked at Ye Jiuliang, steadying his spirit, "Mo Chen told me about it; he said you are..."

He paused halfway through his sentence, seeming to hesitate.

Ye Jiuliang shifted her gaze away, her voice indifferent, "You know everything?"

Mo Yuan nodded, "Why did I have an accident back then, and you’re saying that my name is Ye Yuan?"

"You don’t doubt my words?" Ye Jiuliang scrutinized him with a probing look.

Mo Yuan shook his head, asking without hesitation, "I believe you."

A faint smile flickered in the depths of Ye Jiuliang’s eyes, her tone softening slightly, "First, tell me, what’s the situation with you and Mo Yu?"

At this, Mo Yuan paused, noticing her aversion to Mo Yu.

"When I woke up, I was covered in injuries and remembered nothing. The first person I saw was Mo Yu; she claimed to be my wife and said I had been attacked on the way to handle something for my adoptive father, Mr. Mo," he recalled the events of the past slowly.

"At that time, Mo Yu was pregnant, and with the addition of a Mo Su and a marriage certificate she showed me, it was strange, but I always felt she was unfamiliar to me, no matter what she did I could never feel close to her or Mo Su."

"Wait a second," Ye Jiuliang interrupted as she felt something was off, "You said when you woke up, Mo Yu was pregnant?"

That meant the child Mo Yu was carrying at that time would have to be Mo Chen.

If Mo Yuan was comatose at the time, how did Mo Yu become pregnant?

Mo Yuan nodded, "Yes."

"Then when you woke up, did you have any facial injuries?" Ye Jiuliang asked further.

"Yes, I had sustained severe injuries at the time, but when I woke up, Mo Yu only told me I had to undergo light plastic surgery because of the injuries on my face."
