The Lady of the Prestigious Family is a Big Boss-Chapter 62 - 0. Thanks to your family’s Jiang Yisheng (third watch)
Director Xu shook his head, "The hotel he’s staying at isn’t far from here, so I might as well drop him off on my way."
"Alright, you go ahead. Don’t keep Mrs. Xu waiting too long. I’ll take him back," said Ji Mingqian.
"OK, just be careful on the road." After giving him the hotel’s location, Director Xu put on his hat, settled the bill, and left first.
Ji Mingqian looked down at the unconscious Jiang Yisheng and sighed. He reached out and propped him up.
"I suppose I’m performing a good deed for the day."
After donning his hat and sunglasses, Ji Mingqian helped Jiang Yisheng leave through the back door.
Halfway there, Jiang Yisheng groggily woke up.
He raised his head, his attractive green eyes half-closed. In the dim light, the man’s distinct jawline had a cold intensity to it.
Feeling his gaze, Ji Mingqian looked down at him, his voice low and deep, "Are you sobered up?"
At that, Jiang Yisheng smiled foolishly, his words slurred as he called out, "Cousin."
Ji Mingqian, "..."
Who’s your cousin.
It seemed he was awake, but his mind certainly wasn’t clear yet.
"Let go." Jiang Yisheng, feeling a throbbing headache, pushed Ji Mingqian’s hand away only to lose his balance and fall to the ground.
Ji Mingqian looked around the corridor and, reaching out, hauled the man back up, "Jiang Yisheng, look carefully. I am Ji Mingqian, not your cousin. Behave, I’m taking you home. Otherwise, I’ll just leave you here."
He really didn’t want to end up trending with him tomorrow.
"I want to drink water," whined a drunken Jiang Yisheng, childishly.
Ji Mingqian replied coldly, "There’s none."
"I want to drink water, want to drink water," Jiang Yisheng insisted, clinging to a column in the corridor and refusing to move, his words jumbled as he babbled at Ji Mingqian.
Ji Mingqian was speechless.
He should really record this spectacle with his phone and show it to him when he sobers up.
"Let’s get going, there is water in the car." Seeing people passing by not far off, Ji Mingqian quickly dragged him along.
"Let... let me go..." Jiang Yisheng thrashed about, his usual poise and grace dissolved.
"Calm down," Ji Mingqian ordered, covering his mouth.
Jiang Yisheng paused, his lips pursing in a sulk.
"It’s Jiang Yisheng!"
An excited female voice suddenly erupted, and Ji Mingqian inwardly cursed.
"Tat-tat-tat—" The sounds of frantic footsteps behind them indicated a multitude was closing in.
"Damn it."
Ji Mingqian cursed under his breath, snatched his own hat to cover Jiang Yisheng’s head, then dragged him forward into a sprint.
"Slow down, I’m going to be sick." Running too hastily, Jiang Yisheng’s legs gave out, and his stomach roiled.
"Any slower and we won’t be able to escape," Ji Mingqian pulled him along to quicken their pace.
Upon pushing through the glass door, his personal car was already waiting.
He glanced back to see a throng of fans nearly upon them. He yanked open the car door and shoved Jiang Yisheng in rather unceremoniously.
"Mingqian, Mingqian..."
Without the hat as disguise, the sharp-eyed fans immediately recognized Ji Mingqian and swarmed over like hungry tigers.
Ji Mingqian dared not delay, quickly got into the car, and closed the door behind him.
"Old Li, drive," he ordered.
The driver, Old Li, acknowledged with an "OK" and immediately drove off.
As the fans’ screams faded into the distance, Ji Mingqian breathed a sigh of relief. Suddenly, a cool hand touched his arm, and he almost reflexively swung his fist.
He turned to see Jiang Yisheng and barely stopped his punch in time.
"Water." Jiang Yisheng’s voice was hoarse.
"Troublesome," muttered Ji Mingqian as he slightly rose from his seat, reached forward, grabbed a bottle of mineral water, and tossed it to him, "Here."
With a heavy head, Jiang Yisheng struggled to open the bottle. Frustration tainted his delicate features.
Ultimately, Ji Mingqian took the water bottle and twisted off the cap for him.
"Drink slowly, no one’s fighting you for it," Ji Mingqian commented, his eyes softening a bit as he sent a text on his phone and noticed the water spilling from the corners of Jiang Yisheng’s mouth.
Before he finished speaking, Jiang Yisheng’s complexion shifted and he collapsed onto Ji Mingqian.
"Hey, Jiang Yisheng, you—"
"Blargh—"
A pungent smell filled the car.
Ji Mingqian’s handsome face darkened.
In the darkness, a faint blue flame seemed to leap from the depths of his eyes.
Jiang, Yisheng!
I should’ve just left you there.
Feeling much better after vomiting, Jiang Yisheng propped herself up and fell asleep against the car window.
"Damn." Ji Mingqian, splattered with vomit, cursed under his breath.
He rolled down the window, allowing the cool breeze to sweep in and carry away the foul smell.
At the hotel, Jiang Yisheng’s manager Wen Rang was already waiting by the side entrance.
Upon seeing the black nanny van, he and his assistant hurried to greet it.
As the car door opened, they were met with Ji Mingqian’s deep black eyes. Wen Rang greeted him politely, "Brother Mingqian."
His gaze shifted downward and landed on Ji Mingqian’s dirty clothes, widening slightly in surprise, "Brother Mingqian, your clothes?"
"Courtesy of your dear Jiang Yisheng." Ji Mingqian said irritably as he roughly pushed Jiang Yisheng out of the car.
Wen Rang and his assistant quickly stepped up to catch her.
Jiang Yisheng was so drunk she didn’t react to being pushed out of the car; she just frowned and continued to sleep.
"Brother Mingqian, do you want to come in and change your clothes?" Wen Rang, draping a previously prepared coat over Jiang Yisheng, looked at Ji Mingqian with a hint of apology in his eyes.
"No need, I’ve dropped off the person, I’m leaving now."
With that, he closed the car door without another moment’s pause.
Wen Rang was left baffled, eating the car’s exhaust.
Not wanting to attract attention, the two of them quickly helped Jiang Yisheng back to the hotel.
...
The next day, when Jiang Yisheng awoke, her head was pounding fiercely.
"Sss—"
She rubbed her temples and sat up.
Looking down at her clothes, she noticed a slight sour smell.
Was it Wen Rang who had come to pick her up?
Jiang Yisheng tried hard to remember but couldn’t recall anything after passing out drunk the night before.
Forget it, don’t think about it.
She got up, took a set of clothes, and headed to the bathroom.
Half an hour later, Wen Rang brought her breakfast.
"Awake? Does your head hurt?" He set the food on the table and poured her a cup of honey water, "Drink this quickly."
Jiang Yisheng took it and drank most of the cup, easing the dryness in her throat.
After finishing, she put down the cup and asked, "Did you come to pick me up last night?"
Wen Rang turned his head, his gaze strangely fixed on her, "You don’t remember?"
"Huh?" Jiang Yisheng was puzzled.
Realizing she had blacked out, Wen Rang said, amused, "Brother Mingqian was the one who sent you back last night."
Jiang Yisheng was stunned, "Ji Mingqian?"
Wen Rang nodded, "And..."
"And what?" Seeing his suppressed laughter, Jiang Yisheng had a sinking feeling.
Wen Rang tried to hold back his laughter, "You threw up all over Brother Mingqian."
At his words, Jiang Yisheng was dumbfounded.
She threw up on Ji Mingqian?
For real?
She truly had no memory of it.
"Don’t mess with me," she said instinctively, not wanting to admit to the incident.
