The King's Unbreakable Wife-Chapter 115: Promised kiss (2)
Chapter 115: Promised kiss (2)
"It couldn’t be Tobias. There is no way he could make it up here. It must have been a bird," Hazel whispered as she walked toward the balcony door. "He wouldn’t be so crazy to- Are you crazy?!"
Hazel was shocked by the sight of Tobias looking inside the room cautiously and then waving at her. Hazel opened the balcony doors and walked right by Tobias so she could look down at how high up they were.
"How did you get here? Did you come here early or climb up?" Hazel asked not believing that he climbed.
"Climbed of course. There were too many maids for me just to walk in. Do you mind moving from there so no one can get suspicious of your actions? I’m not meant to be here. They did a good job of decorating your room," Tobias said, walking inside to inspect the room.
Hazel looked away from the ground which was quite the drop away to Tobias walking around her room as if he belonged there. "If you are not meant to be here then you need to leave. Keep your voice down because there are maids outside," she said in a hushed tone.
"They will simply think that you have a habit of speaking to yourself. Are you one of those people who talk in your sleep? It might bother me at first, but-"
"I do not, but we are not going to be sharing a room soon so why would it concern you?" Hazel asked.
Tobias laughed at Hazel believing they were not going to share a room. "Right. It doesn’t concern me."
Hazel eyed Tobias, suspicious of his words. "Do you plan to share a room with me?"
"Why should I sleep in a bed where my wife is not? I have a talent for sneaking around. You will see me every night, Hazel."
"That sounds like you are already planning to give trouble. Just because you come to my room does not mean I will allow you in," said Hazel.
Tobias turned around, humoured by Hazel wanting to deny him entry in the future. "You’ll try kicking me out?"
’Try? I most definitely will kick you out. I don’t care if it is by the window or by the door. Having a room to myself so I don’t have to put up with you some days doesn’t seem so bad. What are you doing?" Hazel questioned, taking a step back as Tobias came forward to her.
Hazel glanced at the door and then back at Tobias.
"Didn’t you make a deal with me, Hazel? Something you would give when you return since you had to part on the day of our engagement. I have been patiently waiting," Tobias said, tapping his lips that needed to be warmed by her lips.
"Shouldn’t you leave now before someone sees you and a test comes up again? I don’t need anyone thinking that I am pregnant before I get married. I will look out for you," Hazel said, turning on her heels to go back to the balcony.
"Oh no you don’t," Tobias replied, catching her and placing his hands on her waist to stop her from leaving. "I didn’t take you as someone who would go back on their word. Especially after you give me so much hope that you would come straight to me to do it."
Hazel placed her hands over Tobias’s so she could attempt to remove his hands. She looked forward at the opened balcony door and asked, "Couldn’t you be a little more patient?"
"Not right now. Haven’t I been patient enough in holding off on wanting to kiss you? Besides, I hadn’t expected you to agree to the kiss in the first place so it is your fault for not saying no," Tobias said, tilting his head to try to get a better look at her face.
He knew Hazel had to be angry with herself for not saying no.
"I should have said no and why did you tap your lips? It is a promised kiss on the cheek. We are not on our lips yet. You started at the hand and we have moved up to cheek-" Hazel paused, caught off guard by Tobias kissing her right cheek.
"There. The matter of what should be kissed next is solved and you still owe me a kiss," Tobias said whilst slowly moving hands to the front of her so there would be no escaping.
Hazel didn’t know what to say as he had dealt with the matter. She had prepared herself to kiss him on the cheek, not on his lips.
"I was only joking," Tobias said, loosening his hold on Hazel so she could get away. "You should see how cute you were getting worked up over nothing."
"You cannot fool me, Tobias. I know you wanted the kiss," Hazel said, turning to face him now that he let go of her.
"I did, but I have no interest in nudging a woman into giving me a simple kiss. Even if it is you. Do you want the treats they gave you or can I eat a few?" Tobias asked, wanting something to distract himself from the failure of not getting a kiss. "I need a few to take to my sister. It’ll be her tutor’s problem with how energetic she will be."
Hazel thought of something now that Tobias mentioned his sister. "Helena told me about a conversation you two had. One where you might have scared her."
Tobias sat on Hazel’s bed to pick out what he wanted for himself and Sofia. "Scared her? That was an innocent conversation to me."
"She also spoke of David to you."
"Oh come on, Hazel. You won’t kiss me and you’re mentioning a man that I know nothing of right now. Is it your intention to hurt me right now because if it is, it is working," Tobias said, dramatically touching his wounded chest.
"I am not going back on my word that I will kiss you. You just brought it up so suddenly and it is now kissing you where I didn’t plan to. And I just wanted to clear up about David while it is on my mind. There was nothing between us. We were always good friends until his family moved away and I have not heard from him for quite some time. I didn’t know he was here," said Hazel.
"It is fine, Hazel. I knew your sister was bringing it up to get a rise out of me. I thought she would have been smart to not mention it to you. My mistake for thinking she had sense," Tobias muttered.
"Helena and I are fine now. You don’t need to worry about that anymore and she will only be visiting the palace for an hour each day. Oh, there is something in your hair," Hazel said, walking toward Tobias. She came to a stop right before him. "Can you stop stealing my treats and turn to me to take it out?"
"It must have been from climbing up the wall. I had to sneak around the trees below," Tobias replied, dropping the treats he gathered in his hand so he could move his fingers through his hair to get it out himself. I wouldn’t be surprised if it were a bug.
Hazel waited for him to properly face her and then leaned down to give him what he was promised.
