The puffy, white clouds drifted past the tall, pure white marble pillars that surrounded the circular space known famously as Aetherion, the place where Gods dwell. Even at present there were several seats across the white marble table that were taken with a large blue screen hovering above them all. It had the image of a white cat curled up in the soft white sheets, its abdomen barely moving as it breathed.

"Who’s going to take responsibility for this mishap?" An old sage who sat at the head of the table asked.

He had long white beard and deep green eyes that reflected the wisdom and experience of the ages that one wouldn’t even able to count. This was the Head of Operations in Aetherion, named Oracle.

The ripple of tension ran across the table at his words and the three who were directly responsible for the said mishap flinched in their seats.

The others who were around watched them either with the gazes of sympathy, amusement or strong displeasure but there was one among them who watched with an unreadable blank expression.

"We are all responsible." The young lady who was dressed in a flowy satin gown paired with a golden armor spoke, her golden helmet sat on the marble table.

At first glance, she seemed like a warrior but a closer look could reveal the sparkling and magnetic grey eyes along with the tamed thick brown curls. She was tall and lean with the muscles that adorned her athletic body. This was the Goddess of Wisdom.

The ones on her either side, on her words hung their heads looking equally mortified.

"Goddess of Wisdom is right, we are all responsible." A gentle feminine voice spoke from her right.

A middle aged beauty sat in the grey-eyed Goddess’ right, she had long, thick wavy jet black hair braided with the tiny emerald green leaves and variety of wildflowers paired with turquoise blue eyes that reflected the glories of the oceans. The beautiful emerald green gown that hugged her divinely beautiful curvy body had flowers growing on it. This was Giver of Gifts.

"I agree," the smooth masculine voice echoed from the left of the ladies.

He had long hair that flowed straight down his broad, muscles shoulders over his waist making one feel as if the sun had literally been melted down on his hair. His eyes were the gleaming blue-gray jewels that carried the unwavering sense of righteousness and justice. His body was made of pure muscle and covered by the white robes with purple borders. This was Defender of Divine Glory.

A sigh escaped the lips of the Oracle making the whiskers over his mouth blow a bit before he spoke.

"So all of you three will take the penalty of endangering the life of Chosen One?" He asked running his eyes over the three young figures.

"Yes," they spoke as one making the lips of the one who was silently observing the curl up a little.

"It was extremely reckless of you three to plan to sabotage the Chosen One." One of the stern looking God, with snow white hair and icy blue eyes thundered. He had been quiet for a while as he sat on the left side of the Oracle with his firm, muscular body draped in white robes. This was the Throne of Olympus.

"I didn’t expect for you three to endanger the child’s life like that."

"What were you playing around for exactly?"

"Couldn’t you have at least given her a body which could house more amount of Mana for such emergency situations?"

"What could we have done if she had died?"

"All of our efforts would have been for naught!"

The angry Gods and Goddesses thundered down their critical rants on the three who kept their heads down and listened to it all.

The blue screen that hovered above the table flickered slightly as it showed the time limit of the "reward" ending.

"What punishment should be issued for their recklessness?" The Throne of Olympus asked.

Oracle seemed deep in thought before he spoke, "Their access to communicate over the Chosen One shall be revoked for one month,"

"Only one month?"

"They should be completely stripped from their positions of the Patrons of the Chosen One!"

The three guilty deities had their heads down but Goddess of Wisdom and Defender of Divine Glory couldn’t conceal their scowls as they heard it, while Giver of Gifts looked anxious. They had been chosen to be the Patron for this particular Chosen One who was the last hope of Aetherion. The one who would stop the end of the world but endangering her life was a huge crime which had led them to this state. They knew the other Gods would jump at the chance of replacing them as her Patrons. It was the matter of glory of being the one who raised the Chosen One and in turn became the catalyst for saving the world.

But they also knew that not all the Gods who were capable of becoming Patrons were greedy. There was one particular God here who had been sitting silently and who had also shown no interest in becoming a Patron of this new Chosen One not had they indulged in matters of the previous Chosen candidates.

Standing high in terms of hierarchy of their Pantheon they should have been the Chosen One’s first Patron, but for some reason, they had never eagerly taken up the chance of that position.

"Now that these three have been suspended of their duties someone else has to take up the responsibility of looking after the Chosen One. The decision shall be made by votes." The Oracle declared and at once the conference hall burst into the claims.

It was foolish to think that these old coots would let the opportunity slip by, and they wouldn’t even elect someone else.

The cacophony of the Gods and Goddesses throwing their own names for becoming the Patron of the Chosen One was a sight to see. Nobody would look upon them and say these are Gods from different Pantheons.

Defender of Divine Glory watching the sorry sight cleared his throat and lifted his head asking for permission to speak.

The Oracle noticed, "What do you have to say, Defender of Divine Glory?"

"Don’t we also get to vote?" He asked and the ladies on his side nodded.

"You three are suspended!"

"Don’t try to meddle."

The other Gods reprimanded but the three didn’t back down, they had watched the Chosen One- Reina Aurelius or rather the spirit which had been in her body for years and they had grown a sense of fondness for the child so, they didn’t want any greedy Patrons to make her life hard.

"Not only did you all neglect your duties and not give the Chosen One the kind of quests that she should be fulfilling but you also let her run rampant on her own." Throne of Olympus thundered making the three frown.

"With all due respect, that’s because the child has her own perspective and an intellect that far surpasses the previous candidates!" Giver of Gifts spoke up.

"And speaking of letting her run rampant, which of your candidates have ever came up to this point with having this much support and power?" Goddess of Wisdom demanded.

Her question evoked the silence that made the other Patrons whose previous candidates were failures avert their eyes.

"Just because she runs rampant and does what she wants that’s why she has been enabled by the system to be an OOC, she has the foresight and drive towards fulfilling our goals that’s why we simply sitting back and only provide our assistance whenever she needs it. Just because she’s a human spirit doesn’t mean you all should underestimate her." Giver of Gifts firmly declared.

The silence was so deafening that if one had even managed to cough, it would have echoed across the colossal conference hall of the Aetherion.

"So, with the assets of our child clarified, I’d like to make a vote for The Preserver to be the new Patron." Defender of Divine Glory announced sending the silent hall into the chaotic bumble of refusals.

"How can The Preserver be the Patron? He hadn’t even looked at one of the previous candidates?"

"And why choose him? He’s already busy with his own work!"

The Said God sat in his seat twirling a beautiful fully bloomed lotus in his slender blue fingers before turning his gaze on Defender of Divine Glory. His eyes resembled the midnight skies with the galaxies twinkling in them and his beauty would make one grovel at his feet and beg to worship him. He was dressed in yellow robes with a serene expression on his face. Though, he didn’t seem taken aback by the sudden mention of his title.

"I also vote for The Preserver to be the Patron of the Chosen One." Goddess of Wisdom declared followed by Giver of Gifts.

Having three votes on his side it was obvious that he was the one who would be taking up the responsibility but that still wasn’t an easy feat. If he refused, these votes would be nothing.

And most of the Gods knew that The Preserver would rather focus on his own heap of work than babysit a child.

One of the Gods laughed, "Take back your votes they’re all for naught, The Preserver hadn’t once in all these years stepped up to either choose or look after any of the chosen candidates. He would definitely refuse."

The wave of laughter ran across the table but the expressions on the three didn’t change, they all looked at The Preserver who sat silently observing them before he sighed.

"I shall accept," The smooth, velvety voice stepped out of his pink lips making the hall grow silent again before they burst with even more noisy comments.

"What?!"

"Wait, did I hear that right?"

The Preserver watched the erratic divine figures before he smiled and added, "Only if The Eternal Ascetic agrees to work with me."

This seemed to calm them all down, it was expected that The Preserver would throw that name in, the God who wasn’t even present for the meeting and who wouldn’t even bother with anything else.

"Hah? That’s just a roundabout way of refusing, did you hear that? It’s his way of saying that he can’t be bothered with it." Throne of Olympus laughed while the three deities looked at The Preserver with the puppy dog eyes look.

They couldn’t trust anyone with their doted child.

The Preserver noticed their gazes and then with a serene smile spoke, "System, can you connect us to The Eternal Ascetic?"

The blue screen instantly changed from the footage that showed Reina replacing it with the screen that looked as if it was calling someone.

The ash-smeared, drop dead gorgeous face came into view and the other Gods looked up the God beyond with slight displeasure. Nobody present were in any sort of amicable relationship with this said God, he was as his name and Ascetic who wouldn’t form any friendships nor enmities with the others. He was ever drowned in the world of meditation and peace.

"The Eternal Ascetic, would you mind opening your eyes and greet us at least!" Throne of Olympus spoke up.

The Eternal Ascetic’s eyelids opened up revealing the bright dark blue orbs that would resemble the depths of the oceans. His eyes held the serenity that would make one feel at ease. The third eye over his forehead stayed closed as he smiled.

"Greetings, what fortune may I have to see all you Gods and Goddesses today?" He asked in a deep, patient voice.

The other Gods were patient as well, they knew that he wouldn’t accept the request, he was notorious for saying no straight away to any request that was made to him and he hadn’t ever bothered to show up for any meeting that they had held. If not for his Supreme position he wouldn’t even be included in this panel.

Oracle took the lead to explain The Eternal Ascetic about the topic of their discussion and just as the other Gods had expected the unfazed expression of The Eternal Ascetic didn’t even change as he spoke.

"I refuse, please find another suitable Patron for the child."

He didn’t even listen to the whole part.

The Preserver chuckled a bit before he spoke up, "I request The Eternal Ascetic to rethink, he shall be working with me as the Patron of the Chosen One."

Their friendship was well know among all the worlds but there were cases when the Eternal Ascetic wouldn’t even listen to his dear friend. Would he listen now?

The Eternal Ascetic sat in silence for a long while as the snow started falling around him. As his silence stretched, the Gods started becoming impatient.

"Just say no and be done with it, Eternal Ascetic."

"We all know you wouldn’t do it."

They all started speaking while The Preserver and the three deities sat in silence, waiting.

"All right, if it’s your request then I shall lend a hand."

The hall was thrown into another chaotic flurry of complaints before the Oracle coughed lightly silencing them and then announced.

"It is decided as thus that, till the time that Goddess of Wisdom, Giver of Gifts and Defender of Divine Glory will be suspended from their duties. The Preserver and The Eternal Ascetic will take up the responsibility of being the Patrons for the Chosen One."

He slammed his golden seal over the document that said so and the blue screen flickered with the details of Reina.
