Chapter 623: Nosebleed

"Oh Goddess of Light, please hear my prayer. The situation in the empire has become extremely dire. Please... please provide an answer to the hardships that have befallen us."

A woman knelt down, pressing her palms tightly together.

Her head was bowed respectfully before the large statue in front of her.

The statue was shaped like a woman, standing four meters tall. Holding a staff and a sword in both hands, she looked mesmerizing, causing anyone who gazed upon her to bow unconsciously.

The woman remained in prayer for several minutes before slowly rising to her feet.

"Saint, have you finished your prayer?"

A voice came from behind her.

The woman turned and saw a man clad in silver armor walking toward her. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

She smiled and replied, "Yes, Kishir. What about you? Has the matter I asked you about yesterday been settled?"

Kishir stopped in front of her and bowed his head slightly, then said, "It’s done, Saint. But there are a few issues troubling me. I hope you can provide a solution."

"Problems?" The Saint furrowed her brow. "What are they?"

Kishir straightened, reached into his pocket, and pulled out a white scroll.

He handed it to her and explained, "About two hours ago, we received word that the royal palace intends to take military action against the Great Velmora Empire. Although it’s not yet certain, the likelihood is quite high."

The Saint was startled. She accepted it and began to read. In that instant, her expression turned somber.

"So, they intend to attack through the northern border of the Great Velmora Empire, do they? Dariel Everlain is truly bold and presumptuous," the Saint muttered, her voice brimming with anger.

She had warned the imperial family not to take such action. War would only cause the people to suffer, and she did not want that to happen.

But Dariel ignored her warning and insisted on proceeding. This could not be tolerated.

She rolled up the scroll again and said coldly, "Go see the emperor and tell him I want to meet him tomorrow. If he still refuses, don’t blame me if I take unexpected action."

Her words startled Kishir, but he dared not object and simply nodded earnestly.

"As you command, Saint."

Kishir then walked out of the hall, leaving the Saint alone.

"The imperial family’s ambition grows greater by the day. It seems I must intervene personally to teach them a lesson," she muttered.

Her eyes, hidden behind a white blindfold, flashed with resolve.

...

"Yes, right there, Sister. Ouch! Gently!"

On the bed, Nolan lay shirtless, his face contorted in pain as Seira, sitting beside him, massaged his back.

"What exactly happened to you?" Seira asked helplessly.

Ten minutes earlier, Nolan had suddenly come to her with a pale face. When she asked him why, Nolan said he had fallen from a tree in the mansion’s yard while relaxing on one of its branches.

The incident sounded so absurd that Seira took it as a joke.

However, Nolan’s pale face didn’t look like he was joking at all.

"Didn’t I already explain it earlier? I fell out of a tree," Nolan said irritably, letting out a small sigh.

Never once in his life had he imagined he would fall in such a ridiculous way.

He hadn’t expected the tree branch to be so fragile that it couldn’t support his weight.

"Pfft!" Seira giggled at his complaint. "Be more careful next time. If you get hurt, that’s your own problem. Well... actually, I don’t mind. I’ll take care of you until you recover."

She pinched Nolan’s cheek affectionately.

Although Nolan tried to maintain an indifferent expression, a faint blush still appeared on his cheeks and was hard to hide.

After five minutes of Seira massaging him, the pain in Nolan’s body vanished completely.

Given his strength, that pain was nothing.

But strangely, he still wanted to tell his sister and ask her to massage him.

’Could her pampering be making me useless?’

As that thought crossed his mind, Nolan got goosebumps. He was the Singularity of Chaos. How could he be lulled by his sister’s pampering?

But... he had to admit, being pampered by her felt quite pleasant.

"Does it still hurt?" Seira’s soft voice snapped him out of his thoughts.

Nolan slowly sat up, stretched his arms, then said, "Not anymore. Thank you, Sister."

Seira smiled and gave a small nod. But suddenly, her gaze fell on Nolan’s muscular abdomen.

Her heart raced, and her breathing grew heavy.

’What a beautiful body,’ she murmured softly, swallowing hard.

Since Nolan always wore loose robes, she had never seen his physique.

Now, with his upper body bare, what lay before her was a nearly perfect physique.

His muscles weren’t overly bulky, but they weren’t small either—his proportions were simply ideal.

The lines of his abdominal muscles were neatly defined, looking alluring and impossible to ignore.

Nolan felt that intense gaze. In an instant, goosebumps spread across his body.

"Ahem... Thank you for your help, Sister."

He hurriedly got off the bed, grabbed his clothes, and put them on.

He felt that if he didn’t cover himself quickly, his sister might do something unexpected.

Seira realized her strange behavior and felt embarrassed.

She was about to say something when she suddenly felt her nose grow wet.

When she touched it and saw what it was, she was stunned.

"Blood? Wait, don’t tell me I’m nosebleeding just from seeing Nolan’s body?"

Her face flushed, and she hurriedly turned away.

Noticing her odd behavior, Nolan asked, "What’s wrong?"

But Seira didn’t answer. She grabbed a tissue and wiped the blood dripping from her nose.

"I’m fine. By the way, can you step out for a moment? I want to change my clothes."

Despite his suspicion, Nolan said nothing and walked out.

Seira let out a sigh of relief and stared at the tissue now soaked with her blood, then muttered sheepishly, "I’m such a mess. How could I get a nosebleed just from seeing my little brother’s body? Ugh... I’m such a failure!"

...

"Where is the mansion where Seira lives?" Aldrian asked impatiently.

He stuck his head out of the small window of his horse-drawn carriage and gazed into the distance.

The Grand Master could only let out a small sigh at the sight of his excessive enthusiasm.

"Please wait, Your Highness. We’ll be there soon," he said helplessly.

Aldrian pulled his head back from the window and gave a small nod.

It had been a long time since he had last seen Seira. The last time was four years ago, and he hadn’t been able to speak with her much due to internal issues in the kingdom that had been plaguing him.

And now, that opportunity was about to arrive. He didn’t want to lose a single second.

What he didn’t know was that Seira’s arrival in the Ancient Kingdom of Eron was not to approve their engagement but to warn him not to force his will upon her.

Unfortunately, Aldrian was completely unaware of this.
