Chapter 1916: Chapter 1915: Drinking

Linna’s casual remark suddenly touched Ling Feng’s heart, so the barriers between them quickly disappeared, and they started chatting while eating.

They talked happily, and one bottle of wine wasn’t enough, so Linna ordered another bottle.

After drinking two bottles of red wine, it was already past ten in the evening.

At this time, the restaurant was still quite busy with people, some had left after eating, while new guests continued to fill in, maintaining the lively atmosphere.

Ling Feng and Linna both drank quite a bit; under the influence of alcohol, they felt like old friends, without the earlier sense of distance.

After dinner, Linna called for the waiter to settle the bill. Ling Feng intended to pay, but she stopped him.

In her view, when men and women dine together, it’s not necessarily the man’s responsibility to pay, she can foot the bill as well!

The meal ended up costing over a thousand US Dollars, but Linna cheerfully swiped her card to pay.

Ling Feng knew the dishes weren’t expensive; it was mainly the wine that racked up the bill.

After leaving the restaurant, Ling Feng looked at Linna: "You’ve had quite a lot to drink, maybe you shouldn’t drive?"

"It’s fine!"

Linna smiled and looked at him, saying, "We’re all superpower users here, and this amount of alcohol just excites the nerves, without making anyone lose their senses. Would you believe me if I said I was drunk?"

"Well, I wouldn’t trust that!"

Ling Feng laughed, then said, "I feel the alcohol has worn off, barely feel it anymore!"

"Same here!"

Linna nodded, then said, "Hop in, I’ll drive you back!"

"Alright!"

Ling Feng didn’t refuse, opened the car door, and got in.

As the car was cruising down the road, he asked curiously, "Don’t you have police here checking for drunk driving?"

"No, usually they only check after an accident has occurred, police don’t roam the streets purposefully catching people!" Linna replied.

"Oh, they sure aren’t very responsible!"

Ling Feng shook his head, thinking to himself that accountability should follow incidents otherwise the innocent injured victims are left with no one to turn to.

Such matters ought to be nipped in the bud to prevent the loss caused by drunk driving!

Of course, he felt there was no need to discuss this with Linna, simply smiled and stayed silent.

Though Linna seemed slightly tipsy, driving was no problem, she quickly got Ling Feng to the hotel entrance.

Stopping the car, she turned to look at Ling Feng, her gaze a bit intense, without saying anything.

By common courtesy, Ling Feng should now extend an invitation to the girl, asking her to come upstairs. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

If she refuses, it signifies the date hasn’t quite reached that point, and would require a couple more outings.

This is customary in Western dating etiquette, but Ling Feng didn’t understand any of it, so he simply nodded and thanked her, then prepared to step out of the car.

But Linna suddenly asked, "Aren’t you going to invite me up?"

Ling Feng froze, looked back at her, "It’s already late, and there’s work tomorrow!"

"With your constitution, do you still require nightly rest?" Linna asked.

"Well, not really, it’s just a habit!"

Ling Feng thought for a moment, then nodded, "Alright then, come up and I’ll treat you to tea, taste some of my family’s special tea!"

"Sure!"

Linna was waiting for his invitation; upon hearing this she immediately nodded, turned off the ignition, and handed the car keys to the hotel’s valet.

They then headed upstairs directly to Ling Feng’s room.

Entering and sizing up the surroundings, Linna nodded approvingly: "Not bad, looks like the security department values you, granting you the top suite here!"

"Really? I think it’s just alright!"

Ling Feng chuckled, saying no more.

Unexpectedly, Linna sniffed the air, then said, "Nope, there’s surveillance and listening devices in this room!"

"Oh?"

Ling Feng feigned ignorance, asking in surprise, "Really, who installed them?"

"No idea, let me search!"

Linna said, heading straight to the living room wall.

Pulling aside a painting on the wall, she extracted a bug device connected to a tiny battery from behind it.

Ling Feng, seeing this, said with surprise, "There really is one!"

"Not just one!"

Linna remarked, continuing her search.

Ling Feng chuckled, brewing tea as he watched her busy at work; soon she found more than ten electronic surveillance devices.

"There are so many, who is so distrustful to monitor me this way?" Ling Feng asked.

Linna seemed displeased, then said to Ling Feng, "I’ll inquire for you tomorrow, this is too much, they don’t treat you as a friend!"

Ling Feng looked at her, feeling like she was genuinely upset.

Though generally these devices are just tactics to garner trust.

Ling Feng sensed her displeasure was genuine, smiled and said, "Alright, but I don’t mind really, being monitored is okay, I have no privacy to speak of!"

Then he sat down, poured a cup of tea saying, "Here, try my Lingyun Tea!"

"Thanks!"

Linna said, sitting down beside him, picking up the tea cup and taking a sip.

She immediately praised it saying, "This tea is truly delightful, far superior to what I’ve had in England!"

Ling Feng smiled, "Tea is originally an authentic Huaxia product, and mine is among the finest, naturally it’s much better!"

"Oh, I see!"

Linna nodded, then suddenly asked, "By the way, I heard Mr. Ling’s company doesn’t just specialize in tea, there’s also apple wine, right?"

"Yes!"

Ling Feng nodded, then said, "But we’ve had quite a bit of wine today, maybe try it tomorrow!"

"Why? I’m over the wine buzz, having a bit more won’t hurt!" Linna said.

"..."

Ling Feng was speechless, seeing her serious look, he smiled and said, "Do you really want to drink?"

"There’s plenty of time till dawn, why not have a drink?" Linna nodded.

Ling Feng couldn’t help but oblige, taking out a bottle of apple wine from his Space Bracelet: "This wine packs a punch, no less than Lafite, you’d better not drink too much!"

"No problem!"

Linna seemed in high spirits, got up to fetch two glasses, pouring each of them a drink.

Ling Feng was a bit perplexed, unsure what Linna was up to, thinking that suddenly she became so clingy, insisting on drinking with him late at night, could this be a honey trap?

Then Ling Feng cursed at himself, thinking that unless Kangaroo Country went insane, using the honey trap wouldn’t work, as I wouldn’t fall for it!
