The Greatest Village Doctor In The World-Chapter 1917 - 1916: Heading to the Inland!
After a few glasses of apple cider, Linna’s face became even redder.
Seeing this, Ling Feng smiled inwardly, thinking to himself, I want to see if this woman would really use her charms on me to find the spaceship!
By midnight, Linna’s tongue was already getting loose from one bottle of apple cider!
Ling Feng didn’t drink much; most of the cider was consumed by her!
At this point, just as Ling Feng was waiting to see what Linna would do next, she stood up: "It’s getting late, I should leave!"
"Huh?"
Now it was Ling Feng’s turn to be dumbfounded, and he asked in astonishment, "You’re just leaving like that? You’ve drunk so much, why not stay here?"
"Hmm?"
Linna swayed slightly, turned her head, and glanced at him: "What do you take me for!"
"No, no, just a suggestion!"
Ling Feng chuckled awkwardly, realizing his words were indeed a bit inappropriate!
Linna gave him a glare, swayed her way to the door, and said, "If you’re going to sleep, remember to set an alarm. We need to leave this city early tomorrow!"
"Got it!"
Although Ling Feng didn’t know her plans, it didn’t matter. Wherever he went, he thought, this case couldn’t be solved anyway!
He watched Linna leave, using his Divine Sense to see her take the elevator down and then reach the hotel’s entrance.
Ling Feng didn’t relax until he saw her get into a car, drive off with a trace of alcohol smell, and tracked her with his Divine Sense until she drove unhurriedly to a villa three kilometers away.
This place was obviously Linna’s home.
Curious if she would contact anyone to report the events of the evening, Ling Feng’s Divine Sense remained on her.
Only when Linna entered her home and began undressing did Ling Feng withdraw his Divine Sense, deciding not to watch.
Peeping felt immoral to Ling Feng, so he abandoned the idea.
With nothing else to do, he went to the bedroom and collapsed into bed to sleep.
When the sky was still dark, Ling Feng woke up, swept his Divine Sense through Linna’s house, and found that she was already up and getting ready to head out.
Seeing this, Ling Feng quickly got ready too. As Linna reached the foot of the hotel, he left the room and went downstairs.
At the entrance, Linna’s car pulled up just as he stepped outside.
Seeing Ling Feng, Linna was a bit surprised: "What a coincidence? I was about to come up and get you!"
"Saves you the trouble then!"
Ling Feng remarked, opening the door and getting into the car.
As she drove away from the hotel, Linna asked, "Did you sleep well last night?"
"Not bad, what about you?" Ling Feng inquired.
"Pretty good as well. I took a bath and slept until morning!" Linna replied.
Ling Feng thought to himself, of course, I know you took a bath, just didn’t have the decency to peep!
They chatted sporadically as the car drove out of the city.
Ling Feng didn’t ask much, watching as the car entered a place resembling a military base, finally asking, "What are we doing here?"
"We’re taking a flight to the Inland shortly!"
Linna said, parking the car next to the hangar.
Ling Feng saw a dark green helicopter waiting. As they arrived, the pilot started the engine, and the rotor blades began to spin slowly.
There was no one else in the helicopter, and eventually, only Ling Feng and Linna got on board.
The helicopter then took off, flying southward.
During the flight, Ling Feng continuously watched below, flying over densely populated areas to the barren Inland.
Kangaroo Country is famous for its mineral deposits, occasionally spotting one or two mining sites and some sparse factories, then nothing more.
After the helicopter flew for four hours, nearing noon, only expansive wilderness lay below.
Ling Feng looked on in curiosity, wondering why Linna had brought him here. Such a long distance, over a thousand kilometers, could they really find a trace of the missing item here?
Despite his curiosity, he didn’t ask further questions.
Another hour of flying brought them to a red sandstone hilly area. Through the helicopter intercom, Linna said: "Get ready, we’re landing soon!"
"Alright!"
Ling Feng nodded, clearly feeling the helicopter descending.
Soon, the helicopter landed, and he followed Linna out. Then the helicopter ascended and flew away!
Once the deafening noise faded, Ling Feng looked at Linna: "Did we come here because there’s a clue about the missing item?"
"Pretty much, this is our only option left. If this doesn’t work, the mission is completely failed, and the item can never be recovered!"
Linna nodded and pointed ahead: "Over there is where we first discovered the stolen item!"
"Oh?"
Ling Feng was stunned for a moment, then said: "Well, let’s go and make the most of the time!"
Linna glanced at him, nodded, and sprinted towards the distance.
This time, Ling Feng didn’t race her, just maintained the same pace, walking side by side until they reached a large pit in the hills.
It was a pit bigger than a football field, shaped like a crater formed by a Meteorite impact.
Of course, since this was a hilly area, it became a large pit instead.
The pit was littered with rubble and dust, with nothing visible, but Linna immediately jumped in.
Ling Feng followed, curiously asking: "What did you discover here?"
"A spaceship!"
Linna finally spoke the truth, proceeding to say: "The reason for strict secrecy and the need to retrieve it is because the spaceship is of great importance to our country."
"I see!"
Ling Feng nodded, continuing to ask: "But why come here to find something, could the lost spaceship really return here?"
"You’ll find out soon!"
Linna said that and leaped deeper into the pit.
Ling Feng felt helpless and had to follow her.
After taking just two steps, Linna suddenly shuddered a dozen meters ahead, not having turned around yet when a red vine swiftly appeared, wrapping around her waist!
"Oh no!"
Ling Feng exclaimed in horror, and immediately summoned Tian Lian!
Soon after, Lord of the Blue Sea, Jin Gang, and Little Fei all emerged!
The reason for calling them out was that Ling Feng saw a gigantic creature emerging from the dust in the depths of the pit!
The creature only revealed a large, round head, with no visible facial features, and its body hadn’t emerged, so its true nature was still unknown.
But it was clear that the vine ensnaring Linna came from this creature!
