Chapter 96: What Does President Hudson Think About My Daughter?

’What can Wyatt Corporations do for me?’ Shawn repeated Director Wyatt’s question in his mind.

’A lot old man. How about you start by telling me what my wife is doing with your son?’

’Secondly, why are you so supportive of whatever relationship that exists between them and finally, can you help me convince my wife to return back to my side?’

Of course Shawn did not say all these out to Director Wyatt’s hearing despite how tempting it was to fling these requests to his face directly. Instead, he suppressed the temptation and put on a stately smile.

"As an elder in the business world, I believe that Director Wyatt is more conversant with the unspoken culture that when a new person takes over the realm of affairs of a Group, especially a huge conglomerate like Wyatt Corporations, small companies like us have to pay our respects, maybe there might be the possibility of a cooperation in the near future."

"Now I know where Eleanor got her wits from."

A warm feeling spread over Director Wyatt’s heart as he thought about his adorable granddaughter.

"You are way too humorous than I had imagined you would be, President Hudson."

"And Just for the records, I wouldn’t consider Hudson Group as falling under the category of small companies."

A multibillion dollar company like Hudson Group that is into Hospitality and real estates is of course no small company. It was bigger than any other companies in Baltimore, second only to Wyatt Corporations of course.

Having an international market, it stood at the peak of the hospitality industry along with Royal Caribbean and Compass from the United Kingdom.

If Wyatt Corporations had partnered with Hudson Group, the benefits that it would bring to them would have been enormous, but since Jason had chosen to seek revenge for his sister, he had nothing to say about that.

Years ago, when he was planning to establish a branch of Wyatt Corporations in Baltimore, he had looked into every detail of the Hudson Group which was the leading company and already knew about Shawn’s abilities.

And since then he had been full of appreciation for Shawn’s wisdom, insight and resilience which had made Hudson Group remain number one and he, the top business mogul in Baltimore over the years. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"What does President Hudson think about my daughter?"

Shawn was taken aback and didn’t know why Director Wyatt would suddenly bring up this topic.

Staring at that face, he felt an inexplainable sense of familiarity, but couldn’t place it. Although is was their first time meeting face to face, he still felt he was someone he had met before but didn’t know where.

He didn’t try to hide the shock from face and his voice as he replied sincerely.

"Although I might not understand the purpose of Director Wyatt’s statement, I haven’t met your daughter in person, however, I’ve heard so much about her."

Director Wyatt sat up like someone who was truly interested in what others had to say about his daughter "What have you heard if I may ask?"

"Enough to know that she is outstanding and her abilities are capable of earning Director Wyatt’s full trust to the extent of giving her a sensitive position as the President of one of the biggest branch of Wyatt Corps."

"With such ability, I believe she can take Wyatt Corporations to greater heights."

"Really, it’s goes without a doubt that President Hudson has a good impression about my daughter," Director Wyatt said with a warm smile on his face.

Who wouldn’t be glad to here such praises about their daughter, not to mention that his daughter is well deserving of every word that has just been said.

"That’s my honest assessment Sir," Shawn affirmed.

Director Wyatt appeared to be in thought and said after a few seconds.

"If I may ask, does President Hudson not have any other impression about my daughter other than business?"

He chuckled slightly and added, "Forgive the curiosity of a meddling old man, but I just want to satisfy my curiosity."

Though he was apologizing, his eyes did not show any signs of remorse.

A vein twitched in Shawn’s jaw as he tried to stay as calm and rational as he possibly could.

"I’m sorry sir, and I hope you wouldn’t take any offense. But I have no other interest in your daughter aside from business."

What game was he trying to play? And why do I feel like I’m being interrogated by a potential father in-law?

A sly smile flickered across Director Wyatt’s face as he observed Shawn.

"Why is that so? Could it be that you already have a girlfriend? But I’ve never heard of you being in a relationship with anyone," he said slyly.

"Wife," Shawn corrected, almost losing his patience. "I’ve been married for a very long time but only a few people know about it."

Director Wyatt raised his brow, feigning surprise. Who would know better if Shawn was married or not and who he was married to if not him, yet he continued to dive deeper.

"I’ve never heard about that, who is she?"

Shawn has never been this pissed.

’Seriously? Is he taking me for a fool? He wants me to believe that he doesn’t know that the woman in his son’s house is my wife?’

With his unrivaled business acumen and vast achievements over the years, I don’t think he would not have done a thorough check on the woman in his sons life.

Since he’s playing dumb, I don’t think I owe him any obligation to continue humoring him.

Having come to this conclusion, Shawn outrightly declared,

"That’s a personal matter that I would rather not talk about, If you don’t mind sir."

A Cold war was already brewing in his mind, but outwardly, his expression was as blank as a sheet of paper, nothing could be read from it.

Director Wyatt nodded in agreement, but his expression didn’t show whether he was pleased with Shawn’s answer or not.
