Chapter 95: You Don’t Need To Butter Me Up

Forty five minutes later, Shawn’s red Lamborghini pulled up at Wyatt Corps.

Stepping out of the car, he stared at the intimidating skyscraper that was not inferior to that of Hudson Corporations and strode into the reception.

He waited for his assistant to confirm his appointment with Director Wyatt while his eyes scanned the place in appreciation like a king surveying his subjects in his kingdom.

He stood tall and statuesque, his posture imposing and captivating like that of a Greek god. None could take their eyes off him as he stood in his glory.

Nuela Gales, popularly known as "Information Box" who happened to be in the hall at that moment, couldn’t control her nosebleed as she drooled at the handsome man.

He was refined and elegant in every way, and she wished she could capture his looks forever.

By the time she recovered, he was nowhere to be found.

"Maya! Did you just see what I saw just now or am I hallucinating?" she squealed, her eyes as large as a saucepan.

At this point, Maya felt this was a topic too juicy to not indulge in. "He is way out of this world. He is impeccably dashing in that customized black suit.

"So it’s not a hallucination, I really did see him in body and soul?" Nuela exclaimed.

She tapped Maya’s arms urgently and requested in an impatient voice, "Who is he? I saw them talking with you just now, hurry up and tell me,

"That’s President Hudson of Hudson Corporations," Maya announced with an air of superiority, proud that she was one privy to such high level information and the bearer of such great tidings.

"He is way more handsome in person than rumored," she added dreamily.

"You are not joking right? That’s the "Shawn Hudson" of Hudson Group?" Nuela was almost going crazy with excitement, her scream attracting a few puzzled glances from the other staff.

She was less bothered about them as she released a sharp breath. "I never believed I would be alive to see this day."

She turned to Maya, "Come on pinch me, I need to be sure I am not dreaming. if it is a dream I’d rather sleep forever and never wake up."

Maya leaned back and gave her a quizzical look. "Can you be less dramatic for once? Well don’t blame me later," she said under her breath.

Nuela felt a sharp pain on her left cheek all of a sudden and yelled, rubbing her face which had twisted from the pain of the slap she just received.

"Maya! What was that all about?"

"Oh, I’m sooooo sorry if I applied a little force," Maya apologized, a mischievous grin dancing around the corners of her mouth.

"I wanted to make it more real. If I only pinch you, you might think it was a mosquito biting you in your dream,"

"Even at that, it was heartless of you to slap me that hard," she whined. "I only asked for a pinch, not for you to disfigure my face. Do you know the effort I’ve put in and how long I’ve been trying to look this good?"

"Do you think he is here to see our beautiful President?" Maya effortlessly diverted her attention from her anger.

As expected, Nuela couldn’t resist the bait and decided to temporarily let go of her grievances for the meantime.

As soon as she digested what Maya had said, her eyes gradually widened and at some point, Maya got scared they would pop out from their socket any minute, so she screamed, "Nuela, are you Ok?"

"Of course I’m Ok. How did you manage to come up with such a brilliant idea?" Nuela praised, suddenly thinking that Maya was a smart friend after all.

"I can already see their extremely cute, talented and adorable children, running about the whole place, screaming, Daddy! Mummy!

And our darling President, sitting with President Hudson in an exquisitely decorated living room, gazing at them with love and affection as they occasionally make out on the couch when the children are, of course, not paying attention."

Maya was rendered speechless. "What a rich imagination you’ve got there. You would make a great novelist with your great knack for storytelling."

The lift carrying Shawn and his assistant stopped at the 60th floor where they were received by Director Wyatt’s assistant.

He led them to the huge office where they met a dignified middle aged man with a welcoming smile on his face as they approached the huge table.

"Have a seat President Hudson," Director Robin Wyatt gestured to the chair across his seat.

"Pleased to finally meet you Sir. I’ve heard so much about you," Shawn smiled as he clasped the hand extended towards him in a firm handshake.

He didn’t know how his daughter was going to take it but as an elder, he had to critically assess the situation and guide her.

"I was told your appointments with the new President had been called off severally. Please accept our sincere apologies."

"You are not to blame sir." Shawn said out of respect, though he was no way comfortable with their actions.

"I should rather consider myself honored for Director Wyatt to agree to see me at such short notice."

At his signal, Johnson handed a package to Shawn, who respectfully stood up to present it to the elderly man before him.

"Please accept this little gift Sir, on behalf of Hudson Group."

Director Wyatt’s eyes narrowed suspiciously. "You don’t need to butter me up."

"Don’t get me wrong sir, I’m only doing what a junior should do for an elder seeing we are meeting for the first time."

"I have no choice but to accept it since you put it that way. Thanks for your kind gesture."

After Placing the package somewhere on his table, Director Wyatt cleared his throat and asked, 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

"As you are already aware, my daughter will be away for some time and since I’m standing in for her, I would like to ask if there is anything Wyatt Corporations can do for President Hudson."
