Chapter 70: You Are Too Noisy

"Hey, are you trying to abduct me? cos I never mentioned anything about traveling. I still have two surgeries scheduled for this evening."

Shawn paid no heed to his rantings and drove straight to the airport.

As soon as the car stopped Shawn stepped out and headed straight to a white Bentley parked a few meters from where their car had pulled up.

The windows were down but unfortunately, the main occupant was missing. Only a driver was waiting in the car.

"Is there anything I can help you with, Sir," the driver inquired politely.

A deep scowl formed on Shawn’s face and he walked away without responding to the man’s question.

His eyes scanned the airport with hopes of spotting her.

The driver could only mutter some inaudible words to himself and dared not raise his voice in complaint at the man’s attitude, given the dignified aura the man possessed. ’Only Master Jason can be compared to the momentum of this man.’

After a few minutes, Steffan met up with Shawn and asked, "Who are we here to pick by the way?"

Without sparing Steffan a glance, he uttered four words. "You are too noisy."

Steffan glared at Shawn, his eyes shooting daggers. "Why do I have to put up with your nasty attitude all the time? If not for our age long friendship, I would have punched you in the face this minute."

"You dragged me from your office here and up till this minute, you didn’t deem it right to enlighten me."

Shawn chuckled and studied Steffan as if he was seeing a joke. "Patience man, you don’t need to be so hard on yourself." He patted his arms and continued scanning the airport. "You will find out soon."

He took long strides towards the terminal building and as expected, it was characteristically busy.

Shawn tried as much as he could not to bump into anyone as he searched around for Kathleen.

There were lots of passengers with luggages, some of whom were moving towards various numbered gates while others waited in queue at ticket booths.

Bright lights and exquisite design adorned the loung and at different locations, there were enormous screens that showed the arrival and departure of planes.

At short intervals, announcements would be heard from the intercom signaling the arrival, departure, or delay of flights. Occasionally, instructions were given to passengers to proceed to a specific gate for security checks.

After searching a few minutes, without any result, Shawn decided to return to the parking lot to wait by the white Bentley.

At that moment his eyes zeroed in on the back of someone walking out of the terminal building.

The person was walking hand in hand with the tall figure of a man, beside her was a woman and they were headed towards the white Bentley.

He couldn’t mistake the owner of that back for anyone else other than Kathleen’s.

Like someone electrocuted, he stood transfixed at the entrance of the building, only his eyes followed the movement of the three people walking further away.

Some travelers who were going into the building stopped to admire the hunk that stood like a model at the entrance of the terminal building.

Unconsciously, Shawn had struck a posture that was too striking, that it would be a waste not to be photographed. Some passengers couldn’t resist the temptation and even dared to take pictures. It was rare for them to see such a breathtaking handsome personality.

But before they could return the phone to their pockets, Shawn’s body guards that are always following from the shadows, surrounded them and commanded them to delete the photos.

When they opened their mouths to protest, they were forced to silence as they realized that those guys were too fierce to be trifled with. They had no choice but to reluctantly delete the photos.

Seeing that Shawn was still in a daze, Steffan gave him a slight shove and the latter came back to his senses.

A tense look crossed Shawn’s face which was swiftly replaced by determination and he hurried after the departing people.

Steffan: "...."

Steffan was taken aback again and his brows knitted into a frown. "What is going on with him today?" He shrugged his shoulders and continued with his chase. "Since I’ve decided to sacrifice my afternoon for him, I have to go all the way."

Kathleen on the other hand was having a wonderful talk with her parents as they headed to her white Bentley.

"How are my grandchildren doing?" Stacy Wyatt looked as beautiful as ever. Her olive leaf climber earrings from Tiffany & Co dangled on her ears as she turned towards Kathleen.

"They’re doing absolutely great. They would have loved to come pick you up but I’m not coming from home."

"I have missed them so much." An excited smile adorned Stacy Wyatt’s face in anticipation of the reunion with her grandchildren.

Kathleen squeezed her mother’s hand gently. "They missed you too, mum, you will see them soon."

By then they had arrived by her car and Kathleen opened the door for her mother to enter while the driver opened the other side for her dad.

"And how have you been doing?" Stacy asked as she carefully lowered her head to enter the car.

Kathleen closed the door and turned over to the passenger seat in front. Before she could enter the car, she swung her head to the direction where she heard her name being called from.

She saw someone trotting towards her and sighed, "Why is he here?"

Stacy Wyatt whose window was yet to be rolled up, also heard the voice and turned to see who it was.

She saw a young man with a flustered expression hurrying towards their car. Everything about him was similar to her grandson’s and didn’t need to be told that this was her grandchildren’s estranged father.

But the next minute her daughter did something beyond her expectation.

Kathleen got into the car and ordered the driver to drive.
