Chapter 333: All Steffan Cares About Is Lauren

Steffan had completely lost his appetite and was more focused on his phone and the activities of a certain table annoyingly located not far away from him.

From time to time which was getting more frequent as the seconds ticked by, he would glance at the table separated by a few others where Lauren was.

He could see the man seated across from her, gently tuck a strand of hair from her face behind her ear and he felt like ripping off those hands.

He didn’t know what kept him seated there even when he was no longer eating but he just couldn’t get himself to leave when those two were still there.

After some time, he looked up again but Lauren was nowhere to be found.

’Where did she go?’ Luckily the annoying man was still seated and drinking alone.

She might still be around the restaurant since Candace was still at their own table,

She couldn’t have left without Candace, right?

"Excuse me," he said to the two women at the table and strod up without bothering to pay heed to Dolly who had a concerned look on her face.

"Steff..."

"I’ll be fine, Dolly. No need to follow me," he said curtly and walked off.

"Don’t you think you should give up whatever designs you have on him?" Candace asked mockingly.

"And what designs do you think I might have on him?" Dolly asked, making no attempt to hide her feelings either.

There was no need to pretend with Steffan out of the picture now.

"Since you’re playing dumb, let me spell it out to you. "All Steffan cares about is Lauren as you have seen."

"At least he remembers who I am to him unlike his so-called fiancé whom he had no knowledge about," Dolly said triumphantly.

"Steffan might not remember who Lauren is for now but his heart and body has not forgotten her," Candace sneered.

"All you’ll ever be to Steffan is a pathetic friend. Don’t you get it?"

That cut deep and Dolly couldn’t find any word at the moment to retaliate.

She hated being reminded of that. She had seen that Steffan only decided to leave the table when he noticed that Lauren was gone.

Also throughout the meal, Steffan’s attention was completely on the table Lauren was seated with that stranger.

She had been wondering who that stranger was from when he came in. From their interactions, they seem very close so why couldn’t Lauren just leave Steffan for her and settle down with that stranger who clearly loves her so much?

"Don’t tell me you didn’t see that throughout the meal? And I bet Steffan is probably turning the restaurant upside down in search of Lauren as we speak," Candace added with a gloating look.

Meanwhile Lauren stood in front of the restroom mirror, adjusting her hair. As she exited the restroom, she collided with Steffan, who had been leaning lazily against the door.

She gasped in surprise and stumbled back slightly before regaining her composure.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

"Were you expecting to see someone else?" Steffan retorted?

"Maybe."

"I wonder what my parents would think of you when they see you behaving so recklessly with another man."

"How did I behave and what has your parents’ thoughts got to do with me?" Lauren asked, feigning confusion.

Steffan’s nose turned up in disdain. "Do you seriously need me to remind you how you were flirting with him and didn’t seem to get enough of him?"

"I don’t see how that affects you, young man. If you don’t mind, I still have someone waiting for me and I don’t want to keep him waiting," Lauren said and made to pass but Steffan was already standing as a human barricade before her.

"Now what?" Lauren snapped, her eyes darkening in anger.

"You can’t just leave. Not before telling me what relationship you have with him."

"What business of yours is that?" Lauren threw back. "Besides, aren’t you supposed to be more worried about leaving your beautiful date alone for so long?"

Steffan’s jaw tightened as he fought to control his frustration. "How many times will I drum it in your ears that there’s nothing going on between me and Dolly?" He snapped in defense then regretted it almost immediately.

Why was he even bothering to explain anything to her? She was just a total stranger who was popular with every member of his family except him.

As if she had read his mind, Lauren verbalized the question he had just asked himself.

"I wonder why you feel you owe me an explanation, after all, I don’t mean anything to you."

Seeing the challenging look in her eyes, Steffan who had made up his mind to ignore her retorted,

"If truly you don’t mean anything to me as you claim, why did you force a kiss on me before my entire family?"

Being reminded of what she had done, a lovely red hue tinged Lauren’s ears and she quickly lowered her ear.

"I never forced a kiss on you. I only obliged when you insisted as if your life depended on it," she argued, not bold enough to look at Steffan.

Steffan: "..."

"Well since you were brazen enough, how about you take responsibility for stealing my first kiss," Steffan declared shamelessly.

"He he heee," Lauren laughed hysterically. "Your first kiss? How old are you Steffan? Don’t tell me you’ve never kissed Dolly the entire time you have been together? Oh, I guess you might have also forgotten that," Lauren said sympathetically.

"But considering how enarmoured she is to you, I bet she would almost commit suicide if she gets to know that you can’t remember your past rendez...."

"Lauren!" Steffan roared in exasperation and without warning, closed the distance between them and captured Lauren’s provocative lips in a searing kiss, cutting off her words.

All his pent up fury and frustrations the entire afternoon from seeing Lauren with that stranger was transferred into that single kiss.

It started as a means to stop her from spewing further nonsense, but as it deepened, Steffan became lost in the heat of the moment.

He felt Lauren’s fingers wrap around his neck sending shivers down his spine as she opened her mouth to welcome his probing tongue.

And as their tongues finally came into contact with each other, a moan escaped Lauren’s mouth causing Steffan breathing to quicken inexplicably.

For days he had been thinking about that short kiss they had in the house and had been fantasizing about how it would feel to kiss her again. And it was way amazing that his wildest imaginations.

His hands roamed freely over Lauren’s body as he explored her curves that have driven him half crazy the entire afternoon.

Lauren on the other hand, melted into the kiss, relishing the sweetness of the moment. For her, it was long overdue and she had been longing for his intimate embrace so she did not hold back at all.

The intensity of the kiss overwhelmed them both as they were consumed by an image need for one another.

Oblivious to the intimate scene unfolding ahead of him, a customer approached the restroom but suddenly stopped on witnessing the two people engulfed in the throes of passion in the corridor. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

"Eh- hem," he cleared his throat as things started to get more intense.
