Chapter 236: Is Mom Aware That You Are Here?

Eleanor, who was innocently playing in school, suddenly sneezed and got a sincere, "bless you" from her friend Sophia.

"Do you have a cold?" Sophia asked with concern:

"I don’t think so. But my Aunt Cheryl once said that when someone who doesn’t have a cold sneezes suddenly, it means they are talking about that person."

"Really," Sophia asked, her eyes brightening with interest.

"Mm-hmm," nodded Eleanor as she traced a pattern on the sand they were playing with.

"So who could be talking about you?"

"I don’t know, probably someone who is extremely lazy with nothing important to do. That’s what my aunt also said," Eleanor quickly added before Sophia would ask her again how she knew.

"Your Aunt seems to know a lot of things," Sophia said, sounding a little bit jealous.

"Yes, my aunt is a lawyer," Eleanor bragged . "She can even make bad guys go to jail so that we can have a peaceful life."

Sophia just listened in silence as Eleanor boasted. She wished she could have aunts that she could chat with just like Eleanor.

All her aunts were too busy trying to butter up to her parents and hardly had any time to interact with her. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

The only one she was close to was Graham’s mom, but she was also very busy running her fashion house.

"Eleanor, here you are. I’ve been looking everywhere for you," Elvis said as he joined the two girls.

"Why are you looking for me?" Eleanor’s slender brows puckered as she looked up from her drawing.

Elvis nodded slightly to Sophia as a form of greeting before replying to Eleanor’s question. "Ms Richards wants to see us."

"What does she want to see us for?" Eleanor couldn’t think of any reason why Ms Richards would suddenly send for her and her brother. It was break time and this was the only time she had to interact with Sophia before the next set of classes.

"How am I supposed to know?" Elvis frowned, obviously fed up with Eleanor’s train of questions.

"Sophia, I will see you later," Eleanor said as she stood up.

"Can I come with you guys?" Sophia said with a hopeful expression.

"I don’t think Ms Richards would allow that," Sophia said regretfully. In her opinion, if Ms Richards wanted Sophia to tag along, she would have included her since she knew that they were always hanging out together.

"Ok, bye," Sophia reluctantly said.

Seeing Sophia’s downcast look, Eleanor felt bad. "Don’t worry, I will tell you why she asked to see us when I return," she consoled.

When they got to the classroom where the teacher was waiting for them, Ms Richards met them with a charming smile.

"There is someone here to see you."

"Elvis had little reaction when he heard what their class teacher said. He could roughly guess who it was. Since they were admitted into the school, no one has paid them a visit during school hours so he knew it wasn’t anyone but their father.

Eleanor on the other hand was more excited as she asked, "Who is that?"

Somehow she felt she would be happy to see this person. Maybe her dream was about to come true. She had also made the same assumption as her brother and arrived at an answer as per the identity of the person who came to see them during school hours.

Ms Richards smiled. "You will find out when you get to the head teacher’s office."

"Let’s go, Ms Richards. It’s not good to keep the visitor waiting," Eleanor said.

"You are right, dear. Even without Eleanor’s reminder, she knew she couldn’t afford to keep the visitor waiting.

Both Elvis and Eleanor entered the head teacher’s office with anticipation, but their excited faces soon turned into a frown as the person they saw was completely different from the one they were expecting to meet.

Seeing the disappointed looks on the children’s faces, Johnson hurried to explain.

"Hello, young Master, young Miss, I am Johnson and I...."

"What has your name got to do with why we are here?"

Johnson couldn’t help but frown when he saw the same look he was so used to seeing on his boss’s face appear on Elvis’s face.

Johnson was speechless. ’Does this little guy have to remind me so much of who his father was?’

Even their teacher Ms Richards was taken aback, Elvis’s vibe at this time was quite different from the obedient boy he saw in class. How did he suddenly transform to be this authoritative? Before she could caution Elvis to be more polite, she was utterly stunned by his next words.

"Hurry up and tell us why you want to see us, we still have classes to attend." the little guy ordered impatiently.

He clearly remembered the man standing before them as the one who kept on pestering him outside their head teachers office the other day but had nothing meaningful to say to him in the end.

"I guess you are too busy to see me too," a deep voice resonated from the door and their faces lit up with joy as they turned to see their dignified father standing by the door displaying his handsomeness in all his splendor.

"Daddy!" Eleanor screamed as she launched herself into his waiting arms.

"My princess, how are you?"

"I’ve missed you so much, dad. Why did it take you so long to come see me?" Eleanor demanded in an aggrieved tone.

"I’m sorry dear. But I’m here now."

Elvis, though equally elated to see their father, was more reserved, and held back his excitement when he saw that his sister was acting as if her happiness depended on this single meeting.

He walked leisurely to their father’s side and uttered a simple sentence which immediately wiped off the smile on Shawn’s happy face.

"Is mom aware that you are here?"

Shawn gently put Eleanor down and bent down to his son’s eye level, locked gaze with him, then asked,

"Are you not happy to see me?"
