The Forbidden Heiress At The All Male Alpha Academy-Chapter 161: Ava’s Touch
There was now this awkward silence between Theo and Seraphina since their last conversation. Right now, it was past midnight and Zeke was asleep right next to her. Every time she looked at his face, she thought about the future held for them.
Would everyday remain like this?
Moreover, they needed to mate soon. But she noticed Zeke has been holding back on her these days, ever since she spent the night at Sylas’s. He was still regretting his decision.
Speaking about Sylas, she wondered if he was doing all right. She missed him dearly and anticipated his return. He mentioned he would be a little different the next time they met, which had her wondering what exactly he meant by that. But she knew it had something to do with Erebos.
She just hopes he won’t end up hurting himself in any way.
Theo shifted a little, and she felt the envelope Heather had given her in her pants. How the hell was she supposed to go about telling Zeke about this? The obvious route was to tell Zeke that she was being blackmailed, but Heather isn’t even the main problem.
It’s the person who had told her. She was afraid of what this person would do next, but Heather was adamant about this.
Theo needed a solution to this.
Maybe Ava could help.
.
.
.
Ava usually woke up before dawn. She was on her bed, writing in her personal journal. She was writing about how she worried about Thaddeus, and if he was doing ok. She couldn’t wait to see him again.
Soon, hopefully.
Just then, she heard a light knock on her door.
"Ava!" Theo’s hushed voice called out.
Ava paused at first, then she left the bed to answer the door. Theo stood behind the door, looking all alert like someone who had snuck in.
"Theo! What are you doing here?"
Theo quickly slipped into the room and closed the door behind her, "Sorry, I need your help,"
Ava rubbed her forehead, standing there in her nightwear. She thought for a second something terrible had happened, but Theo’s aura was calm, "What is it?"
They sat down on her bed, and Theo asked, "You said you could see and share memories, right? I want you to do it for me and Heather,"
"What?"
Theo told Ava everything concerning her and Heather. How someone had told Heather about her and how Heather was now using it to get back at them.
"What? She’s planning on ruining my dress for the play?!" Ava shrieked, "She’s beginning to cross more lines than she should!"
"We’ll talk about that later," Theo said, "Do you think we could sneak into her room right now? I want you to look into our memories and I wanna confirm if the person who told Heather is the same person who’s been stalking me," 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"Alright then," Ava replied, "But we don’t need to sneak into her room. I could use something Heather has touched before, and that is enough for me to see something,"
A physical element Heather has touched before? Theo quickly shoved her hands into her pants to take out the letter, but she couldn’t find it. It must have slipped out or something. Damn it!
"I thought I had her letter with me,"
"We could use something else," Ava said and lifted up her shirt a little. There was a little bruise on her chest, and Theo didn’t need any explanation to know that Heather had punched her there.
Ava pressed a hand to the light bruise and then placed her other palm on Theo’s forehead. "Are you ready?" She asked.
Theo nodded and then closed her eyes.
Everything was quiet and still, then Ava added a little pressure on her head and Theo began to feel a little tingling in her head. It started out small, and then began spreading through her body. She forced herself to relax as the weird electricity zipped all through her head like it was searching for something.
Ava’s eyes softly glowed as she searched for a memory that was similar to the things she was touching. Something that connected Theodora and Heather in any way.
Flashes of Heather and Theo’s memory rolled past her eyes like it was allll happening right in front of her, like she was walking down their memory lanes. She focused her mind on what she wanted to extract from them - a certain someone.
And then, she saw the memories. She saw every moment the person’s figure lingered close to Theo.
She also saw Theo chasing the person in a black and Golden mask but losing him on the rooftop. She saw Theo and Zeke walking out of an underground cave by the archer’s range and the same person lingering around, but disappearing the very next second.
Then, she saw Heather walking into her room all grumpy and frustrated and seeing a paper on her bed.
Just like Theodora had explained, the person had left no scent or trail at all.
The smaller details only Ava could see. The subtle change in the air between Heather’s scene and Theo’s. The handwriting in the letter that Heather had read, and very faint footsteps just outside Heather’s room as she had read the letter.
They were similar to the rushed footsteps given off by the person when he had been chased by Theo.
Ava had gotten her answer.
She gently took her hands away from the connections and placed them back on her thighs.
Theo’s eyes were still closed, and there was a bead of sweat running down her face.
"Did it hurt?" Ava placed a hand on her shoulders.
Theo blinked her eyes open, then she shivered a little, "It felt like I was being charged with electricity, but I’m fine," Her eyes turned serious and curious, "So, what’s our answer?"
"Your hunch was right. The Masked guy is the same person who gave Ava that letter,"
"I knew it!" Theo exclaimed, "He also pushed me off the cliff,"
"Cliff?" Ava shook her head, "I saw every encounter you’ve had with him, but I didn’t see anything cliff-related,"
"Huh?"
"The Masked guy probably wasn’t responsible for that. If he had been there, it would have flashed among those memories that I wanted to see. I saw every encounter you’ve had with him, but I didn’t see him pushing you off the cliff. That must have been an entirely different person,"
Theo fell back on the bed, releasing a tired sigh.
"I saw everything written in the letter he gave Heather, though," Ava said and laid down next to her, "Heather would definitely tell on you if you don’t do as she says. I think you should tell Zeke about this,"
"I don’t know if that is such a great idea. I want to handle this without Zeke finding out,"
"Why?"
"You know how Zeke is. If he finds out, he could threaten her or something and I don’t want to make the situation worse than it already is. I can’t have Heather running out of fear to the Commandant’s office because of what Zeke did,"
"So what? You’re gonna let her keep blackmailing you? The delusional girl wants to get together with Zeke, and Zeke is with you. How are you supposed to get Zeke to be with her?"
"I don’t know!" Theo grunted, "I really don’t know,"
Theo spread her hands behind her head and felt her knuckles knock something over the bed, and it landed with a soft thud on the floor.
"Sorry," Theo mumbled as she reached out the other side of the bed to pick up the fallen journal.
The pages were open, and Ava’s handwriting filled most of the pages.
Theo froze.
She had seen that handwriting before.
It was the exact one on the letter she had seen on Aurelius’s bed.
Slowly, Theo turned to Ava.
Ava was still lying down staring at the ceiling when she felt a heavy gaze on her face, and turned to it.
"Theo?" Ava swallowed, slowly rising from her bed, "Why are you staring at me like that?"
"You always dream of fire," Theo quoted the letter, her eyes never leaving Ava’s, "Theodora stands within it, untouched. The flames do not consume her yet. They await instruction. The law requires judgment. This judgement binds you as much as it binds her,"
Ava’s eyes slowly widened with guilt.
"Sounds familiar, doesn’t it, Ava?!"
