The Forbidden Heiress At The All Male Alpha Academy-Chapter 115: You Can’t Go Back
Theo froze.
And then, a laugh burst out of her.
Not the normal or the relieved kind of laughter. It was the kind of laugh that cracked out of her chest like a broken hinge sharp. She sounded mortified, bewildered and helpless as she laughed, holding her stomach.
Thad just stared at her, his brows drawn and eyes squinted like she had suddenly grown a second head and started speaking mermaid.
"...What," he asked slowly, watching her laugh like she was losing her mind, "What the hell is that reaction supposed to mean?"
Theo tried to speak but her voice wobbled around another helpless, hysterical laugh, "Thad..." she choked out, wiping a tear from the corner of her eye, "It’s Gosh...," She started to laugh again.
Thad leaned back a little, completely alarmed, "Would you stop laughing and say something?!"
She finally wiped the tears from her eyes, "I’m so sorry," She palmed her forehead and rubbed it vigorously like she was trying to get a stubborn dirt out, "But you can’t go there. Not after everything that has happened, and is still happening,"
"What do you mean?"
She looked very guilty, "Well...," She bit her lip nervously, "I didn’t exactly behave how you would...while I was at the academy. So if you were to go back now, everyone who knew Thaddeus would instantly tell that you’re... not me. They will believe and know that you’re an imposter. Plus, our build is quite... different,"
Thaddeus gave her a look that was between a glare and frown, "What the hell did you do while you were me? You do realise that when you decide that you’re gonna pretend to me someone else, you actually... act like that person!"
"I know! I know!" She cursed at herself, "I didn’t think it all through. I just wanted to escape from that marriage so badly and when I got to Gravemont, a lot of these were happening and I never thought about...,"
"I swear to the Moon Goddess...!" He glared daggers into her eyes, "What am I supposed to do now?! I have no place else to go!"
She looked at him with concern, "What exactly happened to you?"
He looked away from her, and his amber eyes caught the reflection of the fire, "Alpha Darius did,"
"What did he do?"
"Kidnapped me. I was moved to some facility, and I was...trapped in some kind of dream for a long time. I would wake up once in a while and try to move, but my wolf was suppressed. But I escaped. And now, there are men all over, chasing after me,"
Facility? "How did you know Darius was responsible? Did you see him?"
"I heard his name," He replied and turned to her. He looked extremely furious, "Some...scientists or someone mentioned his name and how they moved me every three days so I wouldn’t easily be found,"
Scientist? Facility?
Wait, was Thaddeus also turned into a Guinea pig?
She had moved in half a second. Thaddeus almost jumped back when she suddenly appeared in front of him, "Are you alright?" She looked very panicked, "Did they inject anything into your body? Do you feel different? Do you get nightmares? Have you ever vomited blood?"
"What the hell?"
"Answer me!" She exclaimed.
"No!" He said, "I don’t feel any different, I don’t get nightmares and I’ve never vomited blood," He paused, "But I was almost injected with something the day I escaped,"
"I can’t believe my father would do something like that do you... Wait, I take that back. I totally believe he can do such a thing,"
"And I’m gonna get back at him. I just...I don’t know how, with wolves on my trail and apparently, nowhere to return to,"
"Did you try going home?"
"Darius would just come and fetch me back from there again. It’s not an option right now,"
"Right," She understood.
"Gravemont was my best choice, till I just learnt from you that...,"
"I know!" She drawled, "And I’m sorry. I’m really sorry,"
"So now I’m supposed to just keep on wandering around with no destination, waiting for the time when Darius would come for me himself and drag me back to that... facility,"
"That won’t happen,"
"How do you know that? It’s not like you can talk your father out of this. You’re also running from him,"
"We’ll find a way!" She uttered strongly, "I won’t just leave you stranded like this. I promise,"
He looked at her like he wanted to believe her, but she was just as powerless as he was.
"Tell me everything that happened at Gravemont? Did anyone manage to figure out you’re a girl?"
"Five of them, infact. One already knew who I was and told another person, two caught me, and one...knew who I was,"
"Who are they?"
"Eric and his boyfriend, Finn. Aurelius Voss and Sylas Veylor, then Celeste Devereux,"
"Aurelius Voss and Celeste Devereux?" Thad gaped, "You mean... the heir to the Argent Tribunal Pack of the South and the heir to the Eclipse Pack?"
"Yup,"
"Whoa! And they kept your secret?"
She nodded.
"You friends with them or what?"
She shrugged, "I don’t know exactly. But I guess, I’m cool with them,"
"Then the Moon Goddess may not hate you completely after all," He watched her again, "Tell me more about Gravemont? I want to know everything that has happened since you arrived,"
"Are you sure you wanna know?"
"Of course," He moved closer to her, "After all, you’re living my life. It’s only fair I know everything you’ve done with it,"
True. Gravemont was a temporary hideout. She would have to face Cain sooner or later, and Thad would take back his place.
"Well, Eric helped me get to the Academy and...,"
Theo watched as Thad’s facial expression changed between excitement, mortification, horror, confusion, and everything in between. By the time she finished, they had finished eating the roasted fish. She told him everything she could, but she left out the part where she had kissed two guys.
With one of those guys being her Professor.
"Now I see why you said I can’t return for now," Thadeus said, his eyes still shaking with pure disbelief. He looked like he had a lot of things to say, but didn’t even know where to start, "So I’m stranded," He sighed.
"I have somewhere you can stay," A low-pitched husky voice said of nowhere.
Theo’s brows shot up in surprise, while Thad shot up to his feet in alarm, ready to transform and attack. But she grabbed his arm, stopping him midway.
He looked down at her, brows drawn together in question.
"I know who just spoke," She said, and stood up.
"Who is it?" Thaddeus growled.
"Someone who can really help you,"
