The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 44: Unusual Incident.

"Mr D?" Mrs Mason, with her brows raised in confusion, called the new assistant Mr DeLoach had brought with him earlier this morning. Was she the one seeing things wrong or...?

"Is there anything wrong with the contract?" Enoch asked, seeing how the woman stared at the contract like it was the wrong one.

Mrs Mason nodded, opening the contract to show Enoch. She replied,"President DeLoach said he will not be signing this contract since the percentage Anderson Corporation will be getting is meagre. Did he have a change of mind?"

Enoch tilted his head, not sure what he should reply the woman with. He had simply taken Ruthlyn’s position today while she stayed with Shikera at home, and the only assignment his brother had given him was running this petty errands between his office and the secretaries cubicles.

"I will be back in a while," he said, taking the file from the woman’s hand before walking to Ethan’s office.

"Eth— sorry, Sir, the secretary outside told me there was a problem with this contract." He dropped the file on his brother’s desk and Raymond picked it up, looking through it before he finally said,

"Uhm...Sir, you said you were not going to sign Lucian Group’s proposal contract."

"I did say that. Is anything the problem?" Came the reply from Ethan, who was busy signing other contracts.

"But you already signed it...Sir," Raymond was confused because this had never happened before. He might have made a mistake but Ruthlyn and Ethan always crosschecked his works before finally approving it so he was sure the problem was not from him. Moreover, the signature was Ethan’s.

"I signed it?" He extended his hand for Raymond to place the file on it, before he opened it to see his signature lying at the lower part of the page.

"What the fuck happened?" He murmured, causing Raymond to move closer to him so as to hear what he was saying.

However, Raymond’s eyes caught another thing that made him more confused.

"Sir," he called. "You just approved the funding of NewDun University which you said you wouldn’t do."

Ethan’s eyes flew across all the proposals he has approved and the contracts he had signed, to see that most of them were contracts or proposals he had denied already. Had he not been paying attention that he had mistakenly signed all this?

"Make time in my schedule, and inform Kyle that I’ll be coming to see him tonight." He instructed.

Raymond nodded and went to action, realizing the mistake was an effect of the nightmare disorder Ethan had. He was barely done with texting Kyle when a sharp knocks resounded on the door.

Enoch went to open it, to see Mrs Mason standing there with an expression that screamed urgency.

"Inform President DeLoach that the police are on their way here. I received a call from the ground floor just now!"

"Anderson Corporation is full of dramas," Enoch thought as he walked back to relay the secretary’s message to his brother who looked surprised.

"Turn them back at the secretary’s station."

Enoch relayed the message to the secretary, but she had another message for him.

"Miss Anderson’s friend is with the policemen, and she knows Chairman Anderson is out of the country. Do you want me to handle her?"

"Absolutely, she might just be here to extort some money out of us by blackmailing." Ethan was about to answer when Raymond placed his hand on his arm, to interrupt him.

"Wait," he turned to Enoch, "Ask her what is Miss Anderson’s friend name?"

"Cyprian Leigh." Enoch replied, exhausted at having to pass messages from one side to the other.

"Cyprian Leigh?!" With speed, Raymond rushed out of the office but not without telling Ethan he would handle the situation.

The elevator opened as soon as he pressed the button, but instead of stepping forward, he had to step back because the policemen, headed by Cyprian’s youngest brother wanted to step out. Cyprian was the last to step out, and it her surprise when she saw Raymond was evident in her eyes.

"Miss Cyprian, isn’t this Raymond Stone?" Callum asked. Though he wanted their visit to be strictly official and that was the reason he was calling his sister ’Miss’, he could not hold himself back from asking the reason why Raymond Stone was here.

"I—am not sure too..." She trailed off, remembering the reason she had come here.

"That aside, Chief Leigh. Tell him what we are here for."

"Here," Showing his ID Card to Raymond, Callum continued,"We are here to see Chairman Anderson, where do we have to go?"

Knowing how confidential the information about Liam Anderson’s absence was, Cyprian had kept it to herself and had only informed her brother about Shikera being held in a place she didn’t want to stay. She had suggested they come here in the hope that she would meet Ethan DeLoach or his assistant who would at least assist them in tracking her friend’s location.

"You don’t mind if I lead you to a more silent place, do you?" As they had no objections, Raymond led them to the secretaries coffee room. After they had all settled, they continued their discussion.

"Chairman Anderson is actually in the middle of a meeting right now," Raymond lied. The fact that they asked for Liam Anderson first even when Cyprian knew he was abroad, meant that she brought this people here for a reason and that she had not leaked any information to them.

"Then we will have to wait," Callum said, only for his sister to tap him.

"It’s alright, we just want him to tell us where my friend is or rather, assist us to find my friend..."

"Your friend? Miss Anderson. Did she tell you she was kidnapped?" Raymond questioned, not believing that all this drama was because Cyprian wanted to see her friend. He had refused to send their address to her the previous day and she had retaliated with this?

"Yes, she did! Which is why I need Chairman Anderson’s help."

From the tone of her voice, Raymond could tell that she was at the brink of exploding and he had to stop that. Facing Cyprian’s brother, Callum, he said,

"Why don’t you go back to work while Miss Leigh stays here? Chairman Anderson will be sure to see her when he’s done with the meeting."

Callum glanced at his sister and seeing her nod, he turned to the policemen behind him and nodded.

"We will be on our way then."

After the men were gone, Raymond stared straight into Shikera’s eyes as if he was trying to pry out the truth from her.

"Care to explain what happened here, Cyprian?"

"I will, immediately after you tell me why you are here at Anderson Corporation."

"Where else would I be, Cyprian?" Raymond sighed, not realizing the mistake he had just made.

"You should be with your boss and not with Ethan DeLoach, of course!" Cyprian yelled, her eyes widening as she realized something.

Lowering her voice, she whispered, "Except you boss is Ethan DeLoach which absolutely makes sense... but also gets confusing when I remember that your boss is Shikera’s husband..." Cyprian trailed off as all the hints fell into place and she realized how stupid she had been. Shikera had lied to her?!

Without waiting for confirmation from Raymond, she stormed out of the coffee room.
