The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 249: We Shared A Man.
Mignon cut her off, "Yeah, I know you have almost answered this before. Let’s just start all over again."
"Okay. So what was your question?" Shikera asked, seriousness vividly expressed on her face.
"About the girl earlier, do I look like her mother?"
"You are her real mother, and not a look alike," Shikera replied without mincing words.
"I—I am the... the Esther girl’s mom? How? Why?" Mignon combed her hair with her hand, the volume of her voice rising as she continued, "That’s probably a stupid question to ask but how? Why is she calling you mom too then? By chance, did you adopt her?!"
Shikera was unsure whether to nod or shake her head. "Esther’s father is, or rather was my husband, so she’s my daughter," she stated.
In shock, Mignon clamped her hand over her mouth to stop herself from screaming out in shock.
"No, Kera, don’t tell me my husband is yours too. Or that we shared a man. Or wait, your baby and mine are half siblings?! The fuck am I even saying!" At the end, Mignon had to yell to release her surprise.
"What? Why would our children be half siblings? It’s uhm...my husband is your brother, by blood," Shikera explained, but her incomplete words only made Mignon’s misunderstanding grow.
"That’s even worse, Kera. Don’t tell me I and my brother...we uhm...we... Shit! I can’t even bring myself to say—"
Shikera quickly caught on to what Mignon was trying to say, and horror immediately crossed her face.
"What shitty stuffs are you thinking about, Mignon?! Of course your brother is not Esther’s biological father. He adopted her too immediately you gave birth to her, from what I heard."
"Then who is Esther’s real father and where is he now?" Mignon asked.
Shikera hesitated a while before answering, "That, is a very long story and I’m not sure you want to hear it all now. It would be better to just regain your memories by yourself, Mig—"
"I want to hear, Kera. Do me this favor and tell me, please," Mignon pleaded, interrupting Shikera while she was speaking.

Cyprian was not sure what she was doing by believing the absolutely unbelievable words of a ten year old Esther. Before she realized it, she had agreed with the little girl’s request to take her to Lucian Rays hospital the next day.
"Don’t forget mummy said no one should come with us," Esther’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts.
"I didn’t," Cyprian replied as she closed the distance between them to help Esther pin a pink bow on her hair. "Are you sure your mum really told you she will meet us there, Esther?"
"I am not lying," Esther stated indignantly, her eyes showing how sad she was that Cyprian was not believing her.
"Okay then. I will trust you for now."
Cyprian assisted Esther until she was done dressing, and helped her tie her shoelaces as fast as she could. Though her hands were moving meticulously, her mind was far from what she was doing. She was wondering how she would convince Raymond and the others to allow her take her out without them dispatching any guards after them. But no matter how she thought about it, she could not do it alone.
Esther told her that Shikera had asked them to come alone, but that was basically impossible with the dangers and tension currently being experienced by the Mega families.
’I’ll have to find a way to convince them,’ she decided in her mind.
The overexcited Esther led the way downstairs to the living room where the others were waiting, all of them engrossed in their works on the laptops. Raymond was the only one who didn’t look up when the two arrived.
"Uh? You two are dressed for an outing," Ruthlyn noted, her fingers flying across her keyboard while her eyes were on Cyprian’s face.
"Yeah," Cyprian replied, "I’m not sure if we would be able to get your permission to leave without any guards."
"Why?" Enoch asked, his brows raised in genuine curiosity. "It’s dangerous to move around without guards nowadays, as long as you are associated with the Mega families."
"We don’t want guards!" Esther exclaimed before Cyprian could give a reply. The latter squeezed the former’s tiny hands as she tried to remind her she was being suspicious by refusing so suddenly.
"We...won’t need any guards. We are actually visiting the police station so I don’t think there’s a need to take the security guards with us. My brother can protect us," Cyprian said.
"What’s the problem? Why the police station?" Raymond finally looked up and asked. His face was completely expressionless like one talking to a stranger.
"Callum wanted to meet me and since Esther has been bored since last night, I thought we could use the trip as an excursion," Cyprian replied.
"Would you like me to come with you two? There’s still possibility of danger from here to the police station," Ruthlyn offered.
Enoch scoffed, "And you are the one who can guard both of them?"
Before the two could start to banter, Raymond cut them off.
Looking up at Cyprian, he stated, "I will drive you both to the police station and when you’re done, you can call me to come pick you up. Trust you still have my number?"
As he talked, he shut the laptop and placed it on the table in the center of the room, before standing to his feet. He didn’t mind the fact that he was still wearing pajamas as he grabbed the car key and slipped his legs into the leather sandals by his feet.
"Let’s go," he announced.
The trip from the villa to the police station was quicker than it was supposed to be, and all this simply because Raymond was driving as fast as possible. The car was quiet and even Esther seemed to notice the tension in there, as she kept her mouth shut all through the trip.
"We are here," Raymond murmured, immediately the car pulled up at the curb in front of the station. "You should—"
"Thanks for the drive," Cyprian interjected. "I will make sure to call you when we are done."
Without waiting for a response, she walked away from him while holding Esther’s hand. It was almost 10am and she did not want Shikera to leave before they arrived.
Raymond waited and watched their back until they dissapeared through the entrance of the police station, before turning to get back into the car. He turned the key in the ignition and drove out of the parking lot to head back home.
Meanwhile, Cyprian watched as the car left the station before running out with Esther behind her.
"Is that you, Rian?" she heard a familiar voice behind her but didn’t bother to turn.
"See you later, Cal!" she waved backwards to her brother. She had not expected to meet him here at all as his office was not on the ground floor. She was still annoyed with him and her other brothers.
Callum noticed the little girl his sister was holding and shrugged; he had never seen anyone that liked kids more than she did. He turned to head back to his office when a loud noise pierced his ears.
It was the fire alarm.

"Hey Kera, why’s Leah looking so gloomy?" Alan whispered. He was even scared to raise his voice so as not to annoy Mignon who was sitting the front seat of the taxi they were in right now.
Since the two ladies slept in the same room while he slept in another, he had no idea what they talked about all through the night. Therefore, when he woke up this morning and attempted to greet Mignon as cheerfully as he used to, it was a shock to him when she ignored him. She had walked past him to take the front passenger’s seat in the waiting cab.
"Nothing, she’ll be back in a few hours. What about you, Alan? How was your night?" Shikera replied, changing the topic as soon as she found the opportunity.
"Well, it was great. How was yours?"
"Same," Shikera replied. Leaning forward towards the front seat, she said, "We will be seeing Esther soon, Mig. Won’t you get that look of your face?"
"Don’t bother about me, Kera. I will stay away when we get there and you can see her alone," Mignon stated.
"What do you mean by that? Esther is a naturally cheerful girl but if she doesn’t see you, her mood will be dampened all through today."
"Then what if she asks where I was? What do I say, Kera? I don’t even know what happened before Grandma found me wounded?!" Mignon sounded agitated, and her voice attracted both Alan’s and the cab driver’s attention.
"What’s the problem, Leah?" Alan asked.
"None of your business," Mignon snapped, shocking Alan and Shikera.
The driver cleared his throat, wondering what the strange tension in the car was all about.
"We are here," he announced.
