The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 241: Showing Off Her Beauty.
"We didn’t eat breakfast this morning. Aren’t you hungry, Kera?" Mignon asked, her voice coming out muffled as a result of the facemask she was wearing, which covered her nose down to her mouth. Immediately they arrived at the city, Shikera had taken this out and instructed her to wear it. Shikera did the same, but Alan was spared.
"Why am I wearing it when Alan isn’t?" Mignon had asked, not used to wearing stuffs that covered her face. She had been secretly grieving the fact that her pretty face was only visible to the boys and men at the island and now that she had a chance to visit the city and show off, Shikera was disabling her from doing so.
However, Shikera’s sweet reply had made her discard all thoughts of exposing her face in the city. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"You, your face will attract all the boys in the city and I fear that when we are ready to return, the entire population of men will want to follow us back to the island. I won’t be safe then."
Shikera had worn her signature bright smile as she talked, thereby disarming Mignon with it. The latter had happily accepted her sister’s subtle compliment and agreed to wear the mask. But now, she was beginning to get suffocated again under this hot sun.
"I’m talking to you, Kera," Mignon called out to Shikera, who had ignored her previous question.
"You were saying something? I was actually trying to look around and see if there’s anyone monitoring us," Shikera replied. She could finally relax after they got to this town as this place wasn’t under the jurisdiction of either Anderson Corporation or DL Corporation. None of the two families paid attention to this town so she was ninety percent sure that they would not have guards here.
Also, they had even passed Anderson Corporation Headquarters on their way here yet none of them had been accosted. Seems like she had been forgotten after all.
Shikera looked up, her eyes scanning the area they were in. She spotted a large advertising banner of a restaurant which stood tall at the edge of the next turn they were about to take, and turned to Mignon.
"Why don’t we get breakfast there?"
Mignon nodded halfheartedly, "I’m alright with here but how about you? You can’t eat out, right?"
"I will just get ice cream from their cold room. It’s been long I had it and before you ask, it’s alright for me to take it once in a while," Shikera replied. Turning to Alan, she asked, "How about you, Alan? Does that restaurant look okay?"
"It is. Leah likes it so, I guess we are good to go."
Shikera squinted her eyes mischievously when she heard that reply, her head turning to stare at Mignon.
"Hmmm, I can see that. What if Leah had refused?" she asked.
"Then we can just find someone else," Alan responded without hesitation.
All this while, they had made the turn already and were walking up the street. Shikera could spot tables and chairs outside the restaurant and guessed that there was an option to choose where to eat. As she opened her mouth to inform Mignon and Alan about it, Mignon beat her to it.
"Why don’t we eat outside? Not much people will be out anyway so there’s less chance of anyone recognizing us, than if we decide to eat inside," she suggested.
As usual, Alan agreed with her and since Shikera was already having the same thoughts, she agreed.
"I will go in and order then. You two can choose seats outside," Shikera stated. She took a few steps away from Mignon and turned, "You should remove the facemask now. I think the chances of anyone I know finding me here is zero." If at all anyone would find her, it would probably be an Elovien’s Spotlight fan. But a new anchor would have taken over the program so barely anyone would recognize her now.
As soon as she received a positive reply from Mignon, Shikera turned to walk towards the entrance of the restaurant.
Mignon watched as she left, her eyes brightening up at the fact that Shikera’s hunched shoulders had now lifted a bit. She turned to Alan.
"I don’t know why I think she’s making me wear the mask so I won’t get recognized, and not because of her. You think I’m just being stupid?" she asked.
Alan shrugged. "I don’t know what to think when it comes to you two so leave me out of this. Let’s use the time in searching for a good seat instead," he replied. Without thinking, he held Mignon’s wrist and pulled her with him as he walked.
He only stopped when they got to a lone round table which had three chairs around it.
"Perfect for us, don’t you think?" he asked.
"Yes, and that means you can let go of my hand now. Grandma must have made you see me like a kid so you think this is alright. Anyways, I won’t hold you to it since I know that’s the secret dream of all men. To hold my hand."
Alan almost scoffed at the narcissism excessively expressed in that statement, but he ignored it. Wasn’t that the common feature he had noticed in the Cooper sisters?
He looked around the area where they where and nodded to himself, noticing how the crowds were very few in the place. Easing himself of the heavy backpack he had been carrying, he took out a napkin and dusted all three seats before sitting down. Mignon did the same, her eyes starting to wander around until they caught something strange.
"Alan...is it just me or that girl over there, does she look a little like me?" she asked.
Alan’s gaze followed the trail of her eyes and spotted the particular girl Mignon was talking about. He knew she was the one not only because the girl resembled Mignon as she said, but because the girl was also staring in their direction.
