The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 218: Grandma Cooper’s Mistake.
"Then, do you think you still want to keep communicating with your acquaintances from over there?"
Again, Shikera gave a negative reply. Keeping contacts with Cyprian or any of her friends over there would lead to Ethan and Liam knowing, and she knew then that they would find her.
"That’s all. If you don’t want to stay connected with your husband or any of your friends over there, then you are very welcome to stay here and do whatever you want. But it will be more healthy for you to forget about them now that you already have a baby."
Shikera heard jerked up at the last question, as if just realizing that she was having a baby.
"You are now a prospective mother, Kera, and all your thoughts should be on things that would benefit your baby. Bad thoughts, starving yourself, crying yourself to sleep, and staying cheerless would only harm your baby. You do want this baby, right?"
"I do."
"Then get yourself together and come join me outside. The mission to get acquainted with your baby starts today," Grandma Cooper joked lightly, chuckling as she walked out of the room.
Immediately the door closed after the old woman, Shikera found herself walking to her bed to take a seat. How could she not have thought about this? She had her own family now and she had been trying to harm him or her. She felt a tear droplet on her cheek and she hurriedly wiped it away. She was not going to cry, for she knew crying would be of no use to her. The only thing she should be thinking about right now was her child’s future, and how she herself would stay alive.
Meanwhile, as Grandma Cooper walked to the living room to sit on one of the sofas, Mignon walked up to her from behind.
"Grandma, is it me or do you seem to know more about Kera than you let on?" she asked.
"I don’t know more," Grandma Cooper sighed, "I’ve just had experience with someone like her so I know what she’s thinking."
"Someone like her? You took another person is as your granddaughter?!" Mignon almost screamed. Was this woman Mother Theresa or what? Just how many granddaughters did she have then?
Grandma Cooper laughed at the surprise in Mignon’s voice. "What are you thinking, Leah? Yes, I took another person in but now as my granddaughter, but as my daughter. And she looked exactly as Kera looks now."
At this point, Leah knew she had to take a seat because she surely wanted to hear this story to the very end. What kind of fate would bring someone who looked exactly like Kera to Grandma cooper’s place years ago?
"How many years ago was that, Grandma?" she asked.
"Exactly 26, and I’m sure of that because I will forever remember her. Her name was Natalia," Grandma Cooper replied.
"Natalia..." Mignon repeated. "Then do you know in what way she was related to Shikera? Or is their resemblance just mild?"
"It’s not mild, I said exactly the same as Kera, Leah. Why are the two granddaughters I have just so dumb? And Natalia, she is Kera’s mother. I’m not sure how Kera got here too but I know she is Natalia’s daughter."
Mignon laughed out loud, unable to restrain herself after the joke her grandmother just said.
"Grandma, you must be joking, right? So you are actually trying to tell me you took care of both Kera and her mother?! Are you trying to get your name into the Guinness world records?"
"Think whatever you want, Leah. You would be more than surprised if I tell you I was not sure Kera was pregnant when I told her that. I simply realized those were symptoms her mother used to exhibit then when she was pregnant and then I told her that. Look at that now, she is really pregnant."
Mignon jaws slacked, she really could not understand this woman one bit.
Grandma Cooper gulped. These girls were really too innocent for the world in the city. With the way they believed in everything she said without asking too much questions, she feared that even the island would be unsafe for them.
She watched as Mignon rose up to her feet and walked in the direction of Shikera’s room, and the image seemed like a deja vu in her mind. That year, Raine had done the same thing to Natalia.
She had gone to console her in her room after Grandma Cooper talked harshly to her then. Just that the situation was a little bit different.
Then, she had advised the two women to leave the island and join their husbands to protect them but now, she was instead stopping these two women from leaving.
She had learned from her mistake back then when she heard news of Natalia’s death and this time, she would take care of the two girls with her own hands.

"Where is my daughter, Chris?" Liam questioned angrily, his mood taking a sharp turn for the worse.
He had been happy all through today so when Chris visited, he received him amicably. But what was this shit he was hearing about Shikera disappearing?
"Calm yourself, Liam. There are things more urgent than Shikera’s disappearance and I hope you take the time to think about that!" Chris stated.
"What the hell is more important than the safety of my daughter, Chris?! She...she might not be my real daughter but she has really suffered too. She has just five years left to live, Chris. What could be more important than her?!" Liam yelled.
Chris stood up to his feet to, looking straight into Liam’s eyes.
"The safety of your real daughter, Liam. That is more important than the willing disappearance of a fake daughter who is the cause of this shit all the Mega families are passing through! Look around, Liam, we are fucking surrounded by The Jordans and my own son is the one to bear the brunt now!"
