The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 214: Secret Hideouts.
"Are you alright now?" Grandma Cooper asked after Shikera had settled back down on a chair, in the living room.
"I am," Shikera answered truthfully. She really was feeling alright and could already tell that the cause of her vomiting was the food. It was just strange that she did not eat it this time before vomiting, but instead felt nauseous immediately she smelled it. However, she could also attribute that to the strong smell of the fish.
"Are you sure? I didn’t know your condition was worse than normal and that was why I forced you to eat."
Shikera smiled at that. "I really am fine. But I can’t skip meals so I still have to wait for Mig—Leah to come back so she can take me to a store where I can get the veggies I can use to cook," she said.
Grandma Cooper nodded, her head turning to look at the door.
"Leah always come back so late and I guess it’s because it’s so boring to be alone with an old woman. I guess that would change now that you are here though," she said nostalgically.
"I don’t think so. She probably has something to do outside," Shikera reassured the older woman. She continued,"Why don’t I go check if I can see her anywhere near?"
"Since you have familiarized yourself with the environment already, it should be alright. Come back early if you don’t find her, okay?"
"Alright! And don’t worry about me, it’s my fault that my body system is this weak and not your fault."
Shikera waved quickly as she rushed out of the house in just her slippers, and without her socks. She ran down the street and headed straight to the beach, the first place where she thought Mignon could be.
"Kera?" A voice called from behind her and she turned to see Alan approaching.
"Hey!" Shikera waved and turned to leave. She was startled when he jogged up after her to stand at her front.
"Where are you going to this late at night?" he asked.
"I’m looking for Leah. Have an idea where she is?" Shikera asked, bypassing him to continue on her way to the beach. It however didn’t take him up to ten seconds before joining her again, and this time, joining her in her walk down to the street.
"No one knows where Leah always escapes to. She says she’s searching for places she can use as her secret hideouts on this island, and no one is allowed to join her. Not even me who has been her best friend since she arrived on this island," he replied.
"Oh...if it’s that hard to find her, I guess I have to go back then. Thanks for your—"
"No! Hold on, Kera, and stop acting like an oldie that has to be in bed by 7pm. Let’s have a small talk. I can accompany you back home in a few minutes if you are scared of walking alone," Alan promised, his two hands stretched in opposite sides of him to stop Shikera from leaving.
"But there’s nothing for us to talk about," Shikera stated, her expression so blank that she always rendered Alan speechless.
"There is a lot," he retorted, "Why did you come here, leaving the good life in the city behind? Why were you searching for Leah? To catch up on each other’s life as sisters?"
Shikera raised her brows, about to ask if he was the island’s detective when he continued,
"You don’t have to answer them all. They are just...just questions that you should answer if you feel like it. For now, you can ask me questions too and I will do my best to answer it all. Hmm?"
Shikera sighed when she noticed the earnest look in his eyes. She didn’t need to ask any longer as she could already see that he was the island’s detective.
"I will only answer one of your questions, Alan. And it’s that I am looking for Leah now to ask her to lead me to a vegetables shop. Instead of us to just walk around aimlessly, maybe you can lead me there too. No?"
"Of course, it’s my pleasure," Alan replied, a bright smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
"I will gladly lead you there," he added.

"He’s calm, too calm..." Raymond whispered, his voice barely audible to Enoch who was standing right beside him.
"You think it’s because Esther is here?" Enoch asked.
"What are you saying? Does he usually care even if—"
"Then what other sensible explanation can you give to his calmness now? You think he found Shikera already?" Enoch asked again, raking his hand through his hair in frustration.
As if in reply to Enoch’s question, Ethan who was sitting on the couch a few metres away from where the latter stood, raised his phone to his ear.
"Did you find her?" His voice was not as cold as it had been earlier that morning when he left, and it simply sounded exhausted.
There was a slight pause and from the way Ethan’s eyes hardened, Raymond and Enoch could tell that the person calling had informed that they hadn’t found Shikera yet.
"Keep searching, she couldn’t have gone that far in just a day. And be extra careful to not let those criminals follow your trail," Ethan warned, referring to The Jordans as criminals. He had taken care of those who were behind the shooting at the restaurant, but he could not help but suspect that there were still more people hiding out there.
He dropped the call and with his hands tightened into fists, he called out to Raymond and Enoch.
"What’s the update, Ray?"
"Same thing, Mrs Anderson has been particularly quiet. And Elizabeth Anderson is just behaving as she usually does, shopping at all the designer boutiques and latching onto Chairman Anderson to take her with him wherever he’s going."
Ethan nodded in acknowledgement.
"Shikera was feeling insecure about the fact that she’s not Liam Anderson’s daughter. Before she is found and brought back, I have to find her a father and a mother."
