Chapter 181: Break Up With Raymond.

"Why did you tell her you’ll call her? You should have told her your answer at once," Cyprian stated.

"Obviously because I wanted to think about it," Shikera replied, her voice without an hint of emotions.

"What’s there to think about? I have an apartment of my own which we can share so there’s no reason to go to someone else."

"Did you break up with Raymond?"

Cyprian frowned, wondering where the question had come from. She was sure they had just been talking about apartments just now, so why the switch to relationship matters. With an absurd question at that.

"Why will I break up with him? I didn’t," she replied.

"That’s it. As long as you are still together with Raymond, I will still have to get involved with them if I live with you."

"Kera..."

Shikera shrugged."That’s just an excuse. I would not live with you even if you break up with Raymond right here and now."

"Why?"

"You will get tired of me, Rian. You are my friend but then, there should be a limit to everything. I know what I’m saying so just accept it as that..." Shikera stated.

Cyprian nodded in agreement, knowing there was no way to convince Shikera when she was already being like that.

"You will accept Skyler’s offer then," she guessed, receiving a nod from Shikera as answer.

"I might. I just need to check a few things out first," Shikera replied.

"Alright. Just make sure you tell me when you decide on what to do."

Cyprian patted her shoulders in encouragement, a sad smile on her face.

Shikera felt contentment ease into her mind as she sipped the orange juice Cyprian had bought for her. Cyprian had tried to cook, but Shikera had rejected it the moment the aroma drifted into her nose. She could tell it had too many processed ingredients for her health and even though she really wished to eat it, she was not ready to die yet.

She could at least spend the last five years of her life doing what she wished, and splurging the money she had earned from her work of the past three years. Since she might not be able to afford the hefty sums that were usually paid for her health maintenance, she might even die earlier than that.

"Miss Shikera!"

She turned swiftly when she heard the clerk’s voice calling out to her. How did the woman recognize her among the sea of people loitering around the lobby at this time?

By this time, the clerk had gotten to her and was now smiling. For some reason, Shikera was beginning to think she could stay at this hotel for the rest of her life without paying, and this woman would not bother her.

"Miss Shikera, are you just arriving?" the clerk asked.

Shikera frowned, feeling that the young lady’s eyes felt a little familiar to her.

"Yes. Is there a problem?"

"No, not at all!" She raised her hand up to show Shikera the lunch bag she was holding, and continued,"A man came over to drop this for you. He gave me a tip so I can especially remember your name."

"A man? Could you describe him?" Shikera collected the bag and felt it, noticing that the flask inside was still warm. This could only mean that the person that brought it knew she could not eat cold food, and that the person only just left recently.

"He’s...handsome?" The clerk was not sure what to say to describe Ethan DeLoach. Intimidating? Merciless? She was not even sure if he was handsome, as she had never seen his face. She was still a baby when the young master dissapeared so she never saw his face.

Shikera could not hold herself back from laughing at the clerk’s confused expression.

"Is that a way to describe a man? Handsome. Anyways, does he have brown hair like mine and smiles a lot?" she asked, an image of Noah in her mind. She didn’t expect anyone else to come here, or even find out she was here.

’The direct opposite,’ though the clerk, while she spoke out,"Yes! That’s the one."

She had no choice than to agree to that and hope that Shikera would not call whatever man it was that she was describing, to confirm if he dropped the food for her.

The mission Ethan had given her when he came, was to make sure that Shikera ate the food. How she was going to make her eat it, he didn’t want to know.

"Thanks for this," Shikera thanked her. She waved the clerk goodbye and continued on her way to the elevator, that would lead her to her room on the twelfth floor.

She got to her room in no time, unpacked the food, and dug into it while not bothering about how it tasted a whole lot like Ethan’s cooking.

"You really need to learn how to cook by yourself, Kera," she murmured under her breath.

She spent a whole hour eating, as she was also browsing through the reviews left by viewers of Elovien’s Spotlight on social media. When she was finally done eating, she got out of her dress and prepared to bath when her phone rang.

It was Noah.

"Hey, I was expecting you or your call today. What happened?" Shikera asked, and from the silent response she got, she could already guess the answer.

"A mission?" she guessed.

"Yes. I already got the house ready but it’s not really suitable for you to live yet. I didn’t know I would get called in so early."

"It’s alright, Noah. I can sort myself out. When will you be back?"

"A month or less. Will you be alright?"

"Of course! I will be waiting to pester you so just make sure you come back without any injuries," Shikera joked, trying to reduce the guilt she knew her brother must be feeling.

"I will."

She hung up on the call and dialled another number, Skyler’s.

"Hey, I hope I didn’t wake you up?"

"Not at all. Why did you call?"
